When travis fails tricks he injures himself on that give him more than just a broken bone he usually never does them again and I really doubt you'll see a roof flip from him again, motocross is an extreme sport and statistically its actually much safer than sports like football and baseball, this is just basic math with the ramp at more of an angle than needed and the speed possible about 15mph faster than the absolute minimum to land, extreme sports pose dangers, get over it.

Personally I play paintball, you probably think its an extremely dangerous sport due to the fact that in this extreme sport called paintball we shoot each other with .68 caliber hard shelled paint filled projectiles going around 300 fps, but then you can look at the facts, 1 in 5 football players go to the hospital with game related injuries yet fewer than 1 in 100 paintball players do, and believe me paintball is just as competitive a sport as football.
