does the control 24 have to be fully plugged in to see the led channel faders for each channel i did the test and all lights work all i have done is plug in the ethernet cable all faders work fine everything works fine but the led channel fader lights do not come on do i have to have this unit plugged completely plugged in or will i see the lights with the ethernet cable please help thanks
He's showing off a nice C24, with a Behringer Headphone amp beside it...BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA come on dude! That's like having a Maserati sittin next to a go cart....and a SHITTY go cart at that! LOL If you can afford a C24, why the Hell would you even bother with a Behringer ANYTHING????
@axeman098 I have the same thing. A C24 and a Behringer headphone amp and even a Behrenger TRS patchbay. Both those things are for monitoring and in no way affect the recorded signal. Not the best Headphone amp in the world, admittedly but the output on the C24 headphone jack is way too low so its a step up actually. Besides, since we spent all that money on our C24s we cant afford anything else!:)
@TheProgmagog I'm just being a smartass. It's just funny to see Digi stuff and Behringer stuff together.....considering the cost of the C24, I fully understand not being able to afford anything else. lol
Sweet studio! Get the blackmagic hdmi card tho......protools in HD 1080i/p awesome....for others just add hdmi devices in a snap on hd tv-as-a-monitor setups. The card is amazing, not a spokesperson, but just spreading the glory. Haha
This was a truly great video! I have a suggestion of that gain knob increase problem. I have not upgraded to the C24 just yet however, I'm a die-heart user of Presonus Gear. The Central Station has a digital-in a Left & Right Master input, which permits clean sound, with no noise at all. It's a great pice of gear, and I feel it will help you in your situation.
@IzzyProductions The DM3200 will most likely outdo the C24 on everything - except the one and only thing the C24 was designed to do. That is to operate and control Pro Tools. When it comes to this one thing the C24 wins hands down. If you are a Pro Tools user, and if you already have all the mics and outboard you need, this thing makes using Pro Tools super sweet indeed.
One last question, you say that you have to crank up the main monitoring. Does this produce a lot of unwanted noise? If so is there a way of getting around this and does it affect your mixing / monitoring of your mixes?
We own two C24s and the monitor section is very quiet as are the mic preamps. Far better than the Control 24. The knob is continuously variable and it just takes some getting used to having to roll around the circle a few times to get levels up where you want them. Very minor inconvenience
I am thinking of buying this mixing console for 5.1 Surround sound mixing for Film and TV and I was wondering if the C24 has an add on that you can purchace similar to the old Digidesign Pro Control's 'Edit Pack' with the 5.1 Surround joysticks?
Or is there a similar feature already on the new C24?
well your rule may be valid unless you have a hook thats 16 tracks and you would like to route all 16 tracks to the aux so you only use one great neve channel strip and then you send a little of that signal to another aux for a nice little plate verb.that way you will still have independent control over level of each hook, aux to control total levels of all hooks once you like the sub mix and then still be able to control the amount of send to the verb of all the hooks with one fader
Im with you for the FX Send, but if you want the external channel you still want to insert it over a subgroup. But I was only having a joke with you :)
Still jelouse of ya, Im still trying to get the money for a c|24. There 13,500 here in Australia!
maybe I could come and do some work experience with you?!
@MASTERLINKSTUDIOS So you believe this would be a great piece of equipment to obtain? Would the c24 be able to record pro tools HD alone or would i need more equipment for that? Thanks for the information on the video
@bbk2023 I know you are probably more educated since that comment was two years ago buuuuutttt..... For others and the sake of argument. Bus compression is a GREAT way to save dynamics but, tighten up a track. Keep in mind. There are NO rules in audio. Just what sounds good... Sounds good.

If you use AUX for dynamics and bring it back ito the mix with your original signal, you'll get time domain errors. ie: comb filtering. Bad idea.

@qw1419xtj
Pro Tools HD has automatic delay compensation so you can compress a bus. Standard practice.

nice review.
But my DM3200 still out does this console.

the DM3200 is an actual digital mixer/ control surface, the C/24 is a control surface. The DM3200 will out do the c/24 anytime

Come on man, dont tell people you can use an AUX send to route to compressor! You now the rule, AUX for FX, Inserts For Dynamics.

@MASTERLINKSTUDIOS What do you mean with : when the artist sings he can hear himself over auto talk back ?
I see you have an 192 there, so you have HD right ?
if the artist wants to hear himself singing during "play" you activate the monitoring ( I ) button next to record enable.

@MASTERLINKSTUDIOS Therefore you should use subgroups (on a analog board- or in your DAW) instead
of the Aux. Otherwise your create a lot of mess.
