I am so tired of people trying to say that there is something wrong or unreal about homosexual relationships. The love my gf and I share is no different than any straight couple in love.

This was a great speech! It truely made me cry the first time I heard it. This movie, speeches like this, and people that are willing to stand up against hatred give me hope that my gf and I will be able to get married and have a family. EVERYONE deserves equal rights!
It is not wrong or perverted to be LGBT. Love is love no matter what genders share it. I will never feel bad or believe that I am less than someone else just because I am in love with another woman.

no way did he just say "God loves you". The Bible makes it clear that marriage is between one man and one woman. And if you think God loves you read Psalms 5:5 or John 3:18. It is made clear that God's love isn't upon those who don't believe. Titus 1:16 tells us by our works we can deny him, you can say Jesus is Lord but by continually sinning you show that you're a liar and you don't believe that.

doesn't it seem that with all this gay rights talk, tons of people are now experimenting at very young ages to see if they are gay or not? why put this pressure on kids to develop their self image at such a young age? people need to grow into their sexuality as they mature in life, not be told as young children that it is fine to be gay...let them figure it out for themselves for crying out loud
I'm glad you wrote this; I disagree and it raises a very important issue. I could equally argue that society puts a lot of pressure on kids to be straight! By age six I knew I was attracted to the same sex and I was reminded on an hourly basis that we should be attracted to the opposite sex by teachers, media, religion, parents, etc. There was loads of pressure on me to be straight when I wasn't. It is just as "fine" to be gay as straight and this is the whole point of gay rights.
Hopefully one day, sexuality won't be such a big deal. "If you're straight fine. If you're gay fine. Who cares?" When that happens, and when all people have equal rights, hopefully things will get better.

At least most of the children with gay parents have TWO loving parents though. With heterosexuals, fifty percent of the children only have one parent present. This is how we solved it in the Netherlands. Because its a human rights issue, we legalized Gay marriage in 2001, same rights for everyone, we dont allow discrimination based on sexual preference, 60% was pro-gay marriage. But it wasnt decided by votes from the people, they had no say in it, but legislated by parliament and thats how it should be.
To add, in 2006, 82% of my country supported Gay marriage, while about 60% of my country is religious one way or another. It doesnt bite homosexuality, they understand its a human right and nothing else.

no way did he just say "God loves you". The Bible makes it clear that marriage is between one man and one woman. And if you think God loves you read Psalms 5:5 or John 3:18. It is made clear that God's love isn't upon those who don't believe. Titus 1:16 tells us by our works we can deny him, you can say Jesus is Lord but by continually sinning you show that you're a liar and you don't believe that.

I'm glad you wrote this; I disagree and it raises a very important issue. I could equally argue that society puts a lot of pressure on kids to be straight! By age six I knew I was attracted to the same sex and I was reminded on an hourly basis that we should be attracted to the opposite sex by teachers, media, religion, parents, etc. There was loads of pressure on me to be straight when I wasn't. It is just as "fine" to be gay as straight and this is the whole point of gay rights.

At least most of the children with gay parents have TWO loving parents though. With heterosexuals, fifty percent of the children only have one parent present. Research after research has shown that children of gay parents don't grow up to be gay. There's research done with the children themselves who are now adults - and guess what? They are heterosexual adults.
Gay families do not weaken "the family." Divorce, adultery, lies, prostitution and other factors weaken some families. People who love each other and want to build families don't.

2) Children experiment- Children experiment regardless of a nationwide approval of sexual orientations. You're incorrect.
3) All of the diseases you mention are neither exclusive to, nor caused by one sexual orientation. People of all orientations and genders can acquire these diseases. Therefore, you have no point since you cannot DIRECTLY CORRELATE these instances to homosexuality. They correlate to unsafe sex.

This is how we solved it in the Netherlands. Because its a human rights issue, we legalized Gay marriage in 2001, same rights for everyone, we dont allow discrimination based on sexual preference, 60% was pro-gay marriage. But it wasnt decided by votes from the people, they had no say in it, but legislated by parliament and thats how it should be.

To add, in 2006, 82% of my country supported Gay marriage, while about 60% of my country is religious one way or another. It doesnt bite homosexuality, they understand its a human right and nothing else.

America denies some citizens the rights given to others. That's not freedom. That's not equality. It's discrimination based on religious beliefs.

Actually, the USA is behind many other countries in terms of human rights. "Homos" as you so eloquently call them, are not trying to silence religious opinion. Rather, religion has NO PLACE in a debate that is about rights that a citizen of this country should have. There is a separation of church and state in this nation. Why can't your brain grasp that? Proposition 8 was illegal in the first place dude, so it shouldn't even have happened.
Also the majority of homosexual organizations use peaceful protest in this battle. Only a few groups were using violent means and the majority of us do not approve.
The voting process is wrong in this instance because the rights of privileges of a minority should never be put to a vote. Read the essays of Thomas Jefferson.
And since Gay marriage was already in place, Proposition 8 was illegal.

Gay marriage was granted by the courts in May 2008. Ergo the privilege, was GIVEN.
Now here comes something on a ballot. Proposition 8. Something that "abridges the privilege" of marriage.
ILLEGAL.
