@fishandfestival andy was a fucking genious. he just showed how people are,..very very contradicting, and it was funny, and smart. and he got away with it. there blassie is, having a normal conversation with kaufman, some guy walks in doing something discusting, blassie hates it, then kaufman does it and he loves it,...even buys it from him, just goes to show how people feel when they dont know you, they act like assholes,...mob mentality put to the test.
@fishandfestival You do realize this is just a movie, not a staged prank. Blassie was acting in it and improvised along with the script. It was intended as a parody of the film "My Dinner with Andre", where two social elites discuss highbrow issues over a meal. This is just the opposite.
Poor Blassie didn't have a clue what was going on...This was grossly unfair to him, though I admit it has great entertainment value, but really it's using someone, in this case Blassie, to see what we wouldn't haven't seen had the hidden cameras not been there...I wonder how Andy would've felt if the tables had been turned...Don't get me wrong, Andy was a genius and clearly before his time, but I think shows like Candid Camera didn't exploit people the way shows like Punk'd & Disaster Date do.
Hahaha!... when you watch it more than once you find new things...
I love Andy's look at about 8:13. It's the ultimate in confused innocence. It's like, "Who are you? What do you want?"
It's even funnier knowing he's the mastermind behind all this weirdness. I don't know how much was improvised or if he knew necessarily that Bob was going to puke, but.... he's sure good at playing the unassuming jerk.
And it's like instant karma for the whole scene w/the ladies. xD...

This movie is great but why can't I find it at the video store or Blockbuster? Is it out on DVD? Andy Kaufman is great. My skinhead friends would beat me to a pulp if they saw me watching a Jewish comedian.
I love how he makes a big stink about shaking that lady's hand (like he's going to eat a waffle and eggs with his bare hands anyway), then goes and touches the end of Bob's booger stick... lmao.
Bob Zmuda!
