So in reality, most schools of religious or secular nature cannot stand on their own.

I think that BYU is awesome because it creates a supportive environment and mitigates a lot of bad decision making. However, a huge part of college is meeting people unlike yourself, and getting exposed to diversity--diversity in terms of race, culture, ideology, religion, etc. I think that BYU leaves it's students stunted in that the honor code keeps anyone from voicing any opinions contrary to that of the church, making them unable to move forward.

@APLitProjecto I understand, but if you come from a backround like me, BYU is a paradise! I'm the only member in my school, and have to be surrounded by negativity ALL the time. Im also one of the only white kids in my school, so i feel like ive grown up in a cultured enviroment. (being around so many white people will actually be weird for me, haha) But it will be great to actually get a break, and go to a school where I wont be weird and ostracized for having standards

From what I know about BYU it must either really suck from all of the rules that they have and it's like the anti college experience, or EVERYONE (that doesn't actually care bout the rules) must be getting it in all the time because of all the rules and deprivation the place causes. @COBBI4 Actually...neither are true. Most of us were mormon before we came to BYU so it's not like we had to change our lifestyles once we got here. But I agree that we're getting an "anti college experience;" that's why I picked BYU!

I don't know about you, but going to parties where you don't have to worry about drunk people having sex in every room and vomiting everywhere are awesome. Knowing that I can accidentally leave something somewhere and still likely get it back is awesome. Being able to play games outside that I used to play as a kid where everyone's having a good time is awesome. I'm not complaining for coming here at all. :)
