However, The Rock did say if he ever came back, one of the guys he'd like to work with is HBK, so I'd have to assume something must have happened to work things out, etc. I have heard many places, though, that HHH's insults to The Rock during their segments were actually him telling his real thoughts and actually breaking kayfabe because he was VERY jealous of The Rock's popularity and how he rose to the top so quickly while he felt superior and shafted because he was "held back" (MSG incid.)

I've heard all the same stuff about HHH too, and he is in no way the best. He does have good wrestling skills, but HHH is just not naturally charasmatic like The Rock, Austin, HBK, or Jericho. Nor does he have a commanding presence like Undertaker. HHH has always tried to leech onto bigger entities than himself to get ahead in the business such as the backstage "kliq", riding off Sean Michaels coat tails in DX, marrying the boss' daughter, or aligning himself with a legend like Ric Flair.

@RumbleRosesXXX i think in 2000 the triple h vs rock fued was carried a bit more by triple h, as he was so hated it made the rock that much more loved. but triple h had a tremendous feud with mick foley before that. although in some ways you are right if they had gone all the way with the love triangle fued later on in 2000 kurt angle definately would have a been a bigger heel than triple h

These 2 are great together, but its unfortunate a lot of people don't like HBK backstage. The Rock is one of them. Shawn was an ass to him when he first came, Triple H was too. They were both scared and jealous of him, they thought he would replace them and become the top star. Shawn had some control at that time being the champ, so he pulled a few strings and kept The Rock at HHH's level. Bret comforted him, and trusted him, and told him not to trust them. Bret and Rock are real good friends.

Unfortunately, that's pretty close to the way it went down. The Rock said he didn't like HBK and it's no secret he and HHH, despite working well together, didn't like each other. HHH has always tried to discredit The Rock and say "WWE doesn't need him" etc. Hart was an "earn it" guy, not a politics guy like the guys in the Kliq. Hart believed from the start The Rock was the next great star and said he and Austin (who worked hard) were the real stars to count on, not the Kliq stars.
