  • Did the French immediately surrender? Btw, silly french people, they DID have color film in 1973.

  • Omg..I hate the camcorders back then

  • Frightening, I couldn't imagine what it would have been like to be there in person. God speed to all those who perished.

  • what do the chinese have?

  • Very interesting and exotic footage! Thanks for share it here.

  • So did this bad boy just break up, Weird!

  • @MrSidejam it was crudely made (like every other piece of russian engineering crap).

  • that aircraft was such a piece of shit

  • @XLC54 Since you have no idea of what you're talking about, I suggest you keep quiet.

  • @danr8472 lmao im a first officer dickhead i think i know exactly what im talking about!

  • @XLC54 Buahaha first officer of what? If that was true you would know that TU-144 was built to outstand pretty much anything. It was a more versatile plane and way more comfortable than Concorde ever was. Now hit the books kid.

  • @danr8472 it was not more comfortable than concorde it was renowned for having serious issues with the noise from the engines. it wasnt surperior in any way due to it being rushed to market in order to achieve supersonic flight first. well they did that, but in a machine that didnt work, hence it being delayed for years after concorde went commercial before it operated its 50 odd flights then being shut down due to 1 too many accidents!

  • @XLC54 no...TU-144 has wider fuselage and the level of noise ws not much worse than Concord...there was a problem with the fuel economy with the TU-144...that why it flew only Moscow-Alma-Ata but not Moscow-Vladivostok!!! when new engines were ready and it could fly from Moscow to Vladivostok the decision of Central Comitee of ComParty USSR was accepted to stop all the flights of TU-144. That was really great jet. Concord was wonderful too but it has its own history.

  • @XLC54 Whole number of crashes was 2 only one of which resulted in fatalities. Big deal nether killed passengers just the prototype test crew who knew what they signed up for. 1 was original prototype, 2 was long range prototype. None of the commercial flights crashed nether did the LL. Cant say that the 1 crash that concorde did killed less than 15 people. So. concorde is the bigger deathtrap when you consider the total death headcount.

  • @akouzov forget the head count work on percentages - concorde killed what, less than 0.0001% of its total passengers, TU144 wasnt safe enough to fly much more than 100 times! bottom line - proud Russians pushed something into commercial traffic that wasnt ready and hugely flawed!

  • @danr8472 I thought it was noisy because of skin cooling equipement, and engines very close to the fuselarge. Also thought that it was unrealiable because of constant numerous system failures, which were an on going struggle, and also cracks appearing in the structure leaving the aircraft safety uncertain. Didn't a second a/c crash in '78, and an engine explode during a test?

  • @danr8472 Actually, the guy's right. Even the Russian government was terrified of how bad the Tu-144 was, which is why they only ever flew one flight a week with the planes filled to only a fraction of their seating capacity, despite the fact they had eight Tu-144s available and a lengthy waiting list of passengers.

  • @XLC54 it's soviet, what do you expect?

  • Impresionante, pensé que no había filmaciones de ese accidente.

  • Best video about this sad day.

  • @Modellpecs i think it's the only footage of the initial crash. the design is all wrong. the engines are too close and the cross sectional shapes of the wings are not correct.

  • @lsteer100 Why you say this? Like if concorde had the same engine layout, it could have landed.... You might be talking about the prototype. Are you? In this case it is true, because all 4 engine was in the center of the plane next to each other. There was a reason for this. If you have engine problems, like one or more engine fails, you would have asymmetric thrust. So the closer to the center is the better. But it also generated heat to the back section of the fuselage. So they changed it.

  • @Modellpecs the design in my opinion changed little from the original prototype. this one was the second prototype.

  • @lsteer100 The third, you mean. ;) Also compared to the first, it had increased wing surface, also redesigned structure. Had better engines, with changed placement, and intakes. The fuselage was longer. Different landing gears also. The canards of course... This are the most important changes i think.

  • @Modellpecs the reason they're similar is because the russians stole the concorde blueprints and made a "carbon copy".

  • @lsteer100 It is not even alike.... It could be that they stoled it, but this is a totally different plane.

  • @Modellpecs that maybe, but they look similar

  • @lsteer100 Do they? Not at all. Just as an Airbus and a Boeing.... Concorde and 144 is very different.

  • @Modellpecs the overall shape is similar, but i do know that they are different planes.

  • @lsteer100 Bough are beautiful planes. ;)

  • @Modellpecs yeah, but concorde's more attractive and more iconic in my opinion. ^_^

  • @lsteer100 Everyone has a favourite. ;)

  • @Modellpecs yeah.

  • @lsteer100 its more lady-like ill admit.
