Nope, the M5 was tested by Road & Track and Motor Trend to do 0-60 in 4.1s when equipped with the SMG III transmission and using Launch Control. Road & Track also state that it runs the 1/4 mile in 12.4 @ 115.8 and 0-120 in 13.3. just google "Road & Track BMW M5 M6 Road Test" and "Motor Trend BMW M5 Vs. Cadillac CTS-V", those are the 2 articles.

GT500 are faster than M5 with a good driver & a tire replacement. I run 12.7@113 in a stock 04'cobra just with drag radials ;-) Also insideline did test a SMG style M6 & ran 60-4.6 & 12.8@117 which sounds to me like cold tires but cold dense air = more hp which = bad 60 times, but high trap speeds.

@MaxwellReviresco, No it was the M5 and M6 side by side comparison by Road & Track in March 2006, they both hit 60 in 4.1 and the 1/4 mile in 12.4, but the M6 had a higher trap speed and the M5 was slower to 120 by 0.7s (M6 does 12.6). Both cars were equipped with the standard SMG III transmission, the M6 in this race is SMG as well as Manual M5s and M6s are only available in North America. I have yet to see a GT500 run lower than 12.6s on stock tires.
