@blackasassin1 you buy a bow because they're QUIET. Try firing off rounds during the zombie apocalypse, you'll have a herd on you within minutes. With a bow/arrow, you can do a silent kill, move on, and no one's the wiser. Plus, you pull the arrow out of the zombie's skull and use it again!
hi,i used to shoot bows as a kid,i want to take it up again as a pasttime hobby i live in the uk,im looking for amiddle price range bow,can anyone give me any recommendations of what to get and whats good for my price range,im looking for one upto £250 max.
@Mauler2290 wait time wouldnt matter from that far it wouldnt relise wat the sound was untill its to late, get it while its head is down feeding and it wouldnt even relise the arrow was coming. only a few sec delay.
It looks well over 80yds, camera perspective? 80yds & 70mtrs are nice ditances, 100yds & 90mtrs more challenging. I have a Hoyt Vantage which I rarely use, need to get out with it!
Wish you had shown where u hit. Second people who say bows take no skill can suck it you need to not only have strength but now how high to aim for the distance and how to hold stready.
For the people who say compound bow don't take as much skill I thought so to at first, but it takes just as much strength to use a compound bow as it does a regular one just you get more strength for size
That is incorrect. A traditional bow "loads up" on the shooter where the letoff on a compound bow allows the shooter to hold full draw without experiencing the overall draw weight.
No skill???? I am a rifle hunter I have never tried this but i can say one thing this would take a lot more skill then using a rifle bringing in your desired animal at 30 yards I think thats the real skill and remaining calm and getting a clean kill so you people that say no skill obviously dont know
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
your boy friend wants your stabilizer in his ass so go help him out and leave the 80 yders to the pros and people who have the confidence to take those shots other than in practice for show .... do it wher it counts in your boyfriends ass
the point of this video is if you practice from 80 yds. then you can kill from 80 yds like me ive killed at 60 70 and 80 yds. with 75 lb pse compound bow from 1997
Yeh they should lift the center of gravity to stabilize the bow but large stabilizers on competition bows are meant to spread the weight out so that they are harder to move from side to side which means you're less likely to drift off the target whilst aiming.
is it just me or is there little or no control of the bow prior to release and immediately afterwards? i do understand that the arrow has left already but thought you should remain on target a fraction of a second longer and not expect or predict the arrow leaving.
The sticks at the end of the bows are a counter weight, they have that same weight as the arrows so when the arrow is knocked on the string the bow is perfectly balanced that way the hand holding the bow can be totally relaxed and thats why the bow falls after they shoot.
by the way the reezen his bow is dropping evry time is bcuz he isnt holding on to the bow which is the most accurate way to shoot a bow even if ur not steady, my bow shakes alot when i shoot but iv still won 2 pop up world championships so it doesnt really matter, hey guys shootn move to 120 yards and shoot its a little funner
the guy on the right is really horriblel ook how much he moves while shooting. also when he shoots an arrow he swings his bow down which is the worst archery habbit ever..
do you know how long it takes for the arrow to be totally free of the bow, its super fast dude you cant even see it so, there just letting down right after it leaves the bow, its not bad at all, i like to keep my bow arm up though when i release i can see where the arrow hit on the target so i know okay move to the right or left or see if the arrow kicks out and stuff.
Oh man, sure is grade-school in here today. I tell you what, you actually go out on the range someday with something other than an airsoft gun, and someone might value your opinions.
its not really for aiming, its called a stabilizer and it absorbs some of the shock from shooting it, they dont have to be so long.. hunters use really short ones, but target archers use long ones
I live in MO and it legal to posses a crossbow here as long as you don't hunt with it without permit.
Can the government confiscate my crossbow in times of social unrest, martial law, (hurricane Catharine) etc. I don't own any fire weapon but I'd like to owe a crossbow. But I get the feeling that if I buy it, the gov will probably know I have it, and then they can bust my door, steal my bow, and label me a terrorist
their has to be someone that agrees with me compounds have a set everything and a pulley system so u don't need much effort and u can hold it back forever so all u have to do is line up and shoot
i hate compound bows so much it's not even really archery it took me 6 years to get a 1" grouping with 6 arrows traditional long bow 1 year with a olympic recurve but only a few weeks with a compound so cheep
they are pretty cool thoght but idon't consider them archery
Amazing how everyone here has negatives in the comments, what ever idiot is doing that, please quit, you spineless prick, stabilizers are garbage, once that arrow leaves the front of the bow, its all up to the arrow.
yes that is true, but you also need to realise the physics thats going on *AS* the arrow is leaving the bow, once you release, the bow shakes, nd a stabilizer keeps the bow from shaking enough to alter the trogectory of the arrow. Especially at a distance like this
there are still guys like byron furgeson who can split arrows with a long bow, he did that on the history channel. i can see what you are saying though, i still dont use one though.
well that is all up to your tastes, and what feels best for you, i personally love the feel of a stabilizer, when used with a finger sling. The combination just feels very fluid to me and now im so used to them, i wouldnt be able to shoot without the two.
all that matters is hitting a 8 inch target 20 yards away in any position, from any degree. oh and faggot bows are meant for killing shit not shooting ragets
was like watching a hunting show that had no ending... prove to me you can hit the spot at 80 yards with your expensive target bow. Show us the targets after you shot, unless of course you were just showing us proper form, then it was a great vid. Dave
It depends on your budget, traditional bows made from various woods like Longbow, Flatbow or even Kyudo bows are more affordable and are easier to maintain as well as having cheaper arrows. Recurve and Compound can get very expensive very qiuckly and although there are usually budget options available the bows are usually low qaulity, put simply if you want a good qaulity bow it could put you out of pocket qiute a bit.
I dont shoot Compound personally its hard to give a good estimate, especially if you live in America. The Mathews Switchback you see here was around 350-400 pounds, but it was more expensive due to the shooter using it being left handed. I would suggest you look at huntersfreind . com for more info if you are interested in shooting a compound bow.
What compound would you say is a good beginners bow? Im hoping to move on from recurve, as I prefer the technialities of compound- though the price tag does put me off, admitedly.
Fred Bear makes great bows, especially for the price. ive been shooting my bow for over a yr now and its been amazing...browning also makes very good bows if your looking for a lower cost. honestly, if you want a good setup that you can expand on (by that i mean add stuff, increase poundage, etc etc,) ur going to have to pay around $400-$500 anything cheaper will be just the bow or a piece of junk. go check out a local archery store if possible and see what they have to say
In a lot of ways a bow is a bow, Just get a year or two old model (DONT GET USED)- many "new" models are extremely similar or exactly the same. Dont let the new camo pattern fool you
I have another video called Compound Bow 80 Yards Score, I would have edited the footage together but Im not really into film making. I just posted this for fun.
well i dont know cuz i stick out my chest but i dont like put my bow way up in the air lol the chest thing for me is more of a thing that helps me shoot
rofl all this talk about classic over compound is funny.
if you really want to go classic get a rock and throw it. thats would be the first projectile ever used. so compared to that a classic bow is a machine.
Looks like the guy on the right wasn't too happy with his shots. Just banged up my index finger on my Bowtech cause I just had an inch to pull it back and look through the peep.. well Im not one to dry fire and @ 62lbs its not the easiest thing to :Just Let Go: Checking out the score video next.
Thats Brendan for you, he's a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to....anything I guess. He did'nt want me to put this video up becuase he was'nt at his best, big cheater that he is.
i know this is gonna sound stupid but i always wanted to get into archery and im going to buy a compound bow.. but they llok so complex.. (heres the stupid part) how do u load the arrows and why all the strings?
Longbows with a draw weight of 200lb were'nt used for target shooting like this, they were mainly seige bows used for shooting over high castle walls or for large scale battles.
Yes, in fact the target we are shooting at is foam layers with a Kevlar sheet on the pack to stop the arrows going all the way through. But I dont know if it would peirce full blown SWAT or Army armor.
It will penetrate soft armor without any trouble but if a vest has a plate, I personally don't think it would go through. You'd have to have a pretty powerful bow and some heavy arrows. Recurve style long bows, like the japanese ones, with period arrows would probably do some nice damage though.

In a lot of ways a bow is a bow, Just get a year or two old model (DONT GET USED)- many "new" models are extremely similar or exactly the same. Dont let the new camo pattern fool you

MapexRG 3 years ago

ganjakat 3 years ago

Does n e 1 know how far an arrow can fly dead straight shot from a 60lb compound bow?
And did these guys do n e thing to their bows to make it shoot further?
wysiwygbandit 3 years ago
It looks like the guy in the red shirt is having some probs drawing his bow. A bit too heavy for him??
iruss71 3 years ago 3
well i dont know cuz i stick out my chest but i dont like put my bow way up in the air lol the chest thing for me is more of a thing that helps me shoot
i8yomama 3 years ago
dude guys wat! i can shoot 7 arrows in less den 30 secs! can u imagine!
ninjaboy92 3 years ago
What?? You get 4 mins to shoot 6 arrows! I cant even shoot 7 arrows in 30secs.
etlie 3 years ago
Looks like the guy in the red needs a longer stabiliser or heavier weight - his bow is kicking back on release.
HiddenHipp0 3 years ago
You got a big enough stabilizer on that thing? Hahaha.

wow that was terrible
roblo12 3 years ago
rofl all this talk about classic over compound is funny.
if you really want to go classic get a rock and throw it. thats would be the first projectile ever used. so compared to that a classic bow is a machine.

i know this is gonna sound stupid but i always wanted to get into archery and im going to buy a compound bow.. but they llok so complex.. (heres the stupid part) how do u load the arrows and why all the strings?
charmlighter 3 years ago
You load it the same as any bow.The strings work with the cams.Kind of like pullys,to increase speed and power, and provide let off.

One of the Bows looks like a PSE Thunderbolt or Mach X.

longbows found on the ship mary rose had draw weights of 200lbs lol
redpotato77 4 years ago
bulshit isnt that like a gun
Ziggy1614 4 years ago
Longbows with a draw weight of 200lb were'nt used for target shooting like this, they were mainly seige bows used for shooting over high castle walls or for large scale battles.

can arrows penetrate body armor?
JTokko 4 years ago
Yes, in fact the target we are shooting at is foam layers with a Kevlar sheet on the pack to stop the arrows going all the way through. But I dont know if it would peirce full blown SWAT or Army armor.
Garsideffxi 4 years ago
It will penetrate soft armor without any trouble but if a vest has a plate, I personally don't think it would go through. You'd have to have a pretty powerful bow and some heavy arrows. Recurve style long bows, like the japanese ones, with period arrows would probably do some nice damage though.
