I've got Live 8 and cannot drag my warp markers around like you. Any idea where this setting is? Basically I can place the warp markers but once they are place I cannot do fine adjustments...? I'm on a PC, not a MAC, any help would be appreciated!
@kozak0085 hey, the reason its different is that I was using ableton 7 here. Ableton 8 has a different warp function. search for "warping ableton 8" here on youtube for some other videos on that technique.
i don't know what the original bpm of the acapella I'm using is because when i hooked it up to the instrumental I was using it was a slightly different tempo :S do I just leave it to Ableton's guess?
if you have traktor ean golden has a good tutorial on finding the tempo for a acapella. Youtube don't allow me to post the direct link. But search for "ean golden acapella beat match" or something like that.
Have you guys seen the Windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE keyboard workstation from Music Computing? The integrated controller works beautifully with Ableton. Check out the videos on our profile! Follow the link below!
@MubangaDNB yes it is...sorry about that... i do not have the source files any more either, plus i am locked out of my site... soooo, try to see if a subscriber of mine can get you the files, or try to do the same techniques with other files....
@jajamaarten just download the source files to find out!! but, its give it up - shakira ft lil wayne and timberland acapella and the movie star riddim instrumental!
hey thankx for all ur videos on ableton live...cuz i just switched from Fl Studio to Ableton Live 8.0 ... and one more little thing .. since u'd relocated to Sao Luis - Maranhão... maybe u should think about starting a Dj School down there .. i use to live there ...and u could make good money...lol...

@johansked That search only comes up with FL Studio video tutorials :s

@RaheemdaplayaO4 try using the tap feature to find the tempo, I find if you have good ear you can usually get it within a point or two

can mute a singers voice but keep the beat still playing in ableton?
alexcampo305 8 months ago
It looks like your acapelle stands on "beats", it's underneath the "warp" button.
Pick one like "complex" or one of your own choice, you will see it sounds better

Where do you typically find your instrumentals? Google doesn't seem to be helping - do you remove the vocals yourself? Thanks
