Chris Brown gave her a love tap...get over it. She wanted it. She needs it to get off.
I wish Steadman would sack up and beat the shit out of Oprah. He must get ill every morning he wakes up with this fat nasty processed hair ignorant old black pig. He mus regret wasting his life with this barren childless old lesbian. Steadman if you want to redeem yourself and with the respect of men around the world - knock her two front teeth out. Oprah does 10 lb turds.
oprah's making it seem like this is breaking news. for generations women were oppressed, and although i have not seen that episode in its entirety i would be surprised if they had anyone with a skin color different than a white privilaged suburban mother.
I agree and that is interesting what you noticed about skin color. Oprah is a manipulator at times. She plays the screen and people with it. This has nothing to do with color or economic background. If someone wants another women oh well. Oprah makes me sick at times
The underlying premise of sexuality does not exhibit a minority of such manipulative behavior by one's self identity. Each person at a young age struggles to empathize an emotional connection, whether it be submissive or inquiringly. Perhaps you should not label your past experiences pessimistically, for maybe those young girls were confused the same as well. Also, the accurate inquiry here is, could lesbian porn amend our manners or actions? The answer is no.
If anyone in the slightest can comprehend this drivel insincerity, we all know most porn is designed for a fastidious group of populace; men. This argument is yet again, a pathetic attempt to deem this complex matter into one group. I would never pursue an individual without acquiescence from the other as this has nothing to do with my sexual identity, being that I am a lesbian myself. Your arguments fail to conclude any bit of pragmatism.
Sorry, what I meant to say without confusing you is; People do not take advantage or manipulate others because they are gay or lesbian. What I understand from your comment is, a persons actions are caused by ones sexuality; .. why these girls have to be so manipulative?, Why do they take advantage of naive people? Not all lesbians are this way.
I do not take advantage of people because of my sexuality. 'People' take advantage of people sexually because they might be destitute or envious of one. Boys would constantly tease me when I was little because they liked me, not because they were straight.
I wish you'd stop being mad, and leave people like Oprah alone. Not everyone understands homosexuality and not everyone understands leaving your husband/wife for your lover.
If she looks confused, it's just because she's human.
She's not yelling at anyone, and if she was homophobic, why would she have these women as guest?
Open up, and don't snap like a little turtle everytime someone asks you a question gays/lesbians.
I am not talking about just this show. I am talking about decades of watching Oprah make faces when she discusses anything related to gay issues. You may want to make some gay friends and try to learn more about what gay people are really like, instead of using porn as a reference.
I wasn't saying I still feel that way, I was saying that's what I initially thought from my childhood. I know NOBODY's extremely sexual, Im no longer naive to that. I was saying society labels lesbians as extremely sexual. Did you even read? Or did you jump to conclusions because you think every person asking questions and stating opinions wants to slap a gay person?
That's how misunderstanding begins, because you're not willing to accept that not everyone will understand. We're not all gay.
I am so sick of the distasteful look Oprah gets on her face whenever any gay topic comes anywhere near her consciousness. Hasn't anyone told her the harm she has done to the gay community. She always acts like she is discussing something from outer space. The best face she ever has on when the topics come up is utter surprise. No one is surprised anymore Oprah and only homophobes have that distasteful face. Please try to get over that.
I mean, I certainly don't think Oprah is homophobic, (far from it) but I do believe she is somewhat naive to matters of complex sexuality. I recall her looking mystified and shocked when Cynthia Nixon was explaining to her that she 'simply fell in love with someone who happened to be a female'
I don't think Oprah would have given that look had it been an interracial couple.
I would agree w/you, if I hadn't been watching her for yrs closely whenever lgbt issues are on the show. Her faces blatantly moves between shock & barely disguised disgust. I don't think many people have the nerve to give Oprah honest feedback, so she prob. is unaware of it. Her intentions may be good, but those facial expressions aren't helpful. It is 2009 & there is no reason to be shocked that same sex people fall in love. Since she is a liberal, she should rid of the look of disgust.
Her face moves the same way when she's discussing extreme child and animal abuse.
She's confused.
Now abuse is maybe a little much of a crazy comparison, but basically, she doesn't understand either because she wouldn't abuse someone/something and she's not homosexual.
Get my point?
Naturally, when some people do not understand something, they make confused, "funny" faces.
It's not that difficult, even if she's done it for years, it's just because she's not a lesbian and she never will be.
She's not gay, so she doesn't understand. She definitely is not a homophobe, she was talking to women who were married to someone, but longed after someone else. Stop taking things so personal. How would you look if you were speaking to someone who said they were thinking of other people while they were married?
Lots of people who are not gay understand. She does not understand I imagine because no one has seriously tried to help her understand, that those faces are offensive. How would African American people feel if others made faces at their every day life? I think she is a homophobe, no matter how well intentioned.
She doesn't understand the situations they are in! She knows how it would affect their husbands minds! Why are you so close-minded, you think it's all about you?Oprah, like most Americans would say, do not understand it so she makes faces because she's not a fake person. She shows real reactions, to women lusting after someone else while their in a marriage. She's just plainly confused, no matter how well mentioned. Get over it, stop being so picky and emotional.
And why pray tell would I expect an African American person to be understanding of everything? We must know different AA people. I am sure she would be and has been thus insulted, so I am hoping she stops doing it to others. Check your own arrogant assumptions at the door dear.
You continue to prove my point. You call her insulting because she expresses an emotion?
So quick to jump on the defense without talking an intelligent approach. Yeah, Oprah has never been blunt before, Just when a homosexual is on her show.
Confirmation bias, or cheery picking information to confirm your irrational beliefs is not very becoming. So ready to prove a point, I have heard this a million times before...
I have my opinion, which has been formed over years of close observation. We all live and learn. Oprah is no exception. It is funny to me how reactive people are to an expression of less than adoration of Oprah, who I do like. The fact I like her makes her disdainful faces all the more bothersome.
It has nothing to do with Oprah. It just I've heard the African American card before. That only took 25 years of observation, growing up in an affluent white community. It's not an upbringing I would change. For every intelligent African American there's a white person inside all of us rolling there eyes at the world..
I really have no comprehension of the place you are coming from. Are you saying you grew up affluent and white and are trying to overcome that? And all people from that background roll their eyes at AA folks? I don't think all people from any group always act a certain way. I certainly do not roll my eyes at others. I don't condemn her for doing it. I just want her to become aware of it, so she can begin to stop doing it.

If society and religion hadn't bogged us down with such taboos and stigmas regarding sex/sexuality, most people in the world would be pansexual or bisexual. Sure we have sexual parts that fit together but we are much more evolved than other animals. We have sex for pleasure now and we can choose not to reproduce.
I think there is at least one person in the world of the same sex for everyone. Women being more openly sexual or more prone to taking the plunge when they meet that person.
Homosexuality can be found throughout the animal and insect kingdom. Check out the video. Because of the controversial nature of the subject, the funding for research is limited and not popular and scientiest who pursue proving that it is natural are stigmatized.
what wrong being gay, lesbian or straight?Sometimes ppl is doing this for sex, sensation or curiosity. We all sin, even if you're straight.Let be honest, right now we have a lot of ppl like that, bi-sexual,they don't admit but they have there taste in men with men or woman with woman or they try ORGY.

They should discuss why women fall in love with other women. Yes, most of us know homosexuality is a sin but why do some people decide to live their lives as homosexuals? Some people are never going to agree with you. The least the whole world can do is try and understand but not be too judgemental because we all sin.
No, I'm 18. Just like they have a right to "love whomever they'd like" I have a right to express what I believe. How did I offend you? In the bible homosexuality is a sin and I shouldn't have to go into a whole debate about why it is either.
Even gospel artist Donnie McClurkin told the world he was gay and admitted he had sinned.
Anyone who is against freedom of speech in 2009 is "SO backward".
Not like I said I'd hit every homosexual, I love people and like them I have sinned too.
You're correct. You do have the right to free speech, However when your free speech is affecting another human being's rights, like Prop 8, and encouraging hate, then it is no longer free speech, but an attack on a person's rights.
Since you are religous there is no point in me arguing considering I don't believe in the bible any more than Harry Potter. But remember it wasnt so long ago when interacial marriage was seen as a 'Sin'.. and look who's President now
I don't hate gay people, but even before knowing the bible I saw lesbians as a child on tv, especially in porn, and didn't know what to make of it. I thought "are they all so openly sexual?" That thought has carried since I was a small kid. Simply any person will be confused by something others do that they do not do themselves. Human beings aren't taught, "this is an ideal lifestyle". You're taught the complete opposite.
Hate is the sin. Love is NEVER a sin. The only reason gays are so hated is the homosexuality undermines the entire system based on men oppressing women.
Why would it matter if someone loved another person of the same sex? It all ends up the same way anyway...! Love is all the same no matter what gender!
Gender shouldn't even matter. That's what this show should be saying. At the end of the day, if you're in love with someone it shouldn't matter who it is or why...some people discover the person they want to be with is of the same gender.
if Oprah is on the net I can't find it either - luckily I have a DVR with my satellite service so I record her every day...if I knew of a way to upload from my DVR I would try it. Good Luck!
xgotarox is so right? Let's quote; maybe they aren't gay or straight. maybe there's no such thing as gay or straight?!
:) I'm not into men, I love my girl, but I find it nothing weird.. it's just an other word?

STARR, are you sure you're not a lesbian in denial?
For a 'straight person' you seem to be really invested in a topic that shouldnt have that much of a tug or affect on you (if you're straight)
EffLabels 2 years ago 4
Yes, I'm sure.
I have this one cousin, who just came out, who used to tease me all throughout our childhood.
There was this one girl in high school who initially, I didn't know what she called herself, but she teased me too.
Me, I haven't had it too fortunate when it came bullies.
My only way of resolving with them was to try and befriend them.
However, this particular girl had a nasty attitude.
You know what they say, "children tease the one they 'like'".
Maybe she liked me?
STARRhyding 2 years ago
Me, I don't take rejection well.
Alot of past problems have stayed on my mind, because I haven't been able to 'fix' them.
I just wanted to be friends with people, and the girl tricked me one summer by saying before school ended she wanted to be friends in school.
By the time school came back around, she transferred.
She started a rumor saying "she's a lesbian"
She was sneaky. She didn't have to lie, she never told me how she felt.
I been backstabbed before then, I trusted her too soon.

I don't understand why a lesbian woman's orientation gets questions and negated and gay men do not! WTF?

Why would it matter if someone loved another person of the same sex? It all ends up the same way anyway...! Love is all the same no matter what gender!

that is the exact same show tyra had last week, with jackie warner and all

oprah did this topic before right? hmmmm i guess she sparked interest...

Gender shouldn't even matter. That's what this show should be saying. At the end of the day, if you're in love with someone it shouldn't matter who it is or why...some people discover the person they want to be with is of the same gender.

Read your comment three times consecutively, maybe then you'll understand why that statement you just made sounds incredibly ridiculous.

if Oprah is on the net I can't find it either - luckily I have a DVR with my satellite service so I record her every day...if I knew of a way to upload from my DVR I would try it. Good Luck!

why don't you wait til you find a tv? Look it up on the TV Guide?
The kind of person that does not know where and when to find 'Oprah' is a deprived soul.

You're not going to find it on the net. HELLO!!
Like I suggested, try the tv guide, after you use all that money you supposively have to buy yourself a television. Stop being lazy.
