Betancourt is an awful hitter (career .302 OBP; .278 in 2009). The Royals were stupid to give up two minor leauge pitchers (one being their top pitching prospect on Baseball America) for this guy.

Then again, he is an upgrade over Pena Jr. and Aviles (DL)...

I'm sure there is some talent in there but the video does not do you justice. How about backhand work, charging the slow roller, throwing to second on the front half of a double play, throwing over to first, etc. Video is just a little too relaxed for me to determine talent level. Good luck though.

I will readily agree that he is a great player, I just don't think the video did his talent justice. A great player he is, a great video it is not. The comment is regarding the video, not the talent of the player.

My bad then. It was how you used the word "you" that I thought you were talking about Betancourt himself. Your right these plays were very routine, any high school player could make them. Watch how fluid and easily he makes them though, there is some beauty in it. I agree with you though, the plays were easy and tougher ones would do him more justice
