  • Thanks very much it works!!=]

  • Can anyone help me??? Everytime I open USB loader gx with my external hard drive plugged into it the program freezes. Is there a fix for this issue? It loads fine as long as I keep my hard drive unplugged until usb loader gx loads and is looking for my usb drive. Please help me.

  • Need some help! I can get games to load, but only if I boot up usb loader gx without my hard drive being plugged in. If it is plugged in when I try to start up usb loader gx, it freezes up. How can I fix this? Also, Can someone tell me how I can get emulators to play from my hard drive instead of SD card? I have some NDS roms I want to play, but they won't fit on sd card

  • Thank You so much! but can you show me how to play free wii games? like downloading on a usb drive or sd card and play it for free or something thank you

  • Impressive work RVLhacks!!!

The Wii (4.3E) is working great and i really do appreciate the time you put into the tuts that made it understandable from the very start!

  • ok I finally got my Wii fix..how can I add more wads to your program?

  • Thanks you for your step by step highly detailed tutorial. Everything works, but we need more instructions so that we can copy Wii CD from the Wii directly to the installed USB external hard drive. We need to back up the games we accumilated over the years to the hard drive for safe keeping as some of the Wii CDs got scratched and don't work any more. Thanks, You are the best.

  • Thanks you for your step by step highly detailed tutorial. We followed your instructions in the following links and we now have a games running on an external hard drive. Everything works, but we need more instructions so that we can copy Wii CD from the Wii directly to the installed USB external hard drive. We need to back up the games we accumilated over the years to the hard drive for safe keeping.

  • the link doesnt work any more and i cant get the softmod

  • thank this was very useful I like it very much because u show all the procedure thank for everything

  • Thank you all running as per your vidoe, can you help with a couple of things ? first do I leave the SD card in the wii now its all installed ? & second ive downloaded & used WBFS manager to convert iso files to wbfs files the game comes up in usb loader but when we try to start the game the screen freezes up ? any help appreciated thanks from me & the kids.

  • @2thais4farangs You can remove the SD card, however some of the apps are stored on the card and will not work with out it (like USB Loader GX). As for the games the way USB Loader GX is configured it is looking for a WBFS partition not .wbfs files on a NTFS/FAT32 partition. If you want more information on setting up the partions send me a PM.

  • necesary gamecube controler????

  • hey does da gamecube controller part work with the classic control

  • thanks alot man :)

  • Works great. When and what should I update ?

  • @MrAlopezNJ You can update the Homebrew browser and USB Loader GX, to find the developer's site just run a Google search.

  • Works like charm kid, 0 bad blocks too not that it matters.

  • I don't know what I did but every time I try playing a new game it gives me an error that it's reloading and then it dumps. what have I done and how can I fix it. I've tried reformating my sd chip and reloading all 3 videos.please help.

  • @jedawk53 Is it retail disc or a backup on a USB or burned disc? Send me a PM and I'll help you get set up.

  • Dude, what an AWESOME tutorial. If everything in youtube was as useful as this, the world would definitely be a better place.

Quick question: what if we have an firmware update for Wii in the future, like 4.4 or 5.0? What should we do? Wait for a hacked firmware version and install it? Ir is there a way to uninstall everything (all hacks) and the apply the new firmware, pretending we never hacked Wii before?

  • @menosferato I would wait for an update to the Homebrew channel that supports the new system menu then update, or you could just update directly. There is no need to uninstall, the update would remove the homebrew channel, priiloader, and most or all of the cIOS. LoadMii will stay installed, this is so you can rehack your Wii without waiting for a new exploit.

  • And now? How can I play games? What Do I have to do? Please Help Me.

  • The usb loader doesn't work without the SD card. Is this normal? How do I make it work without the sd card?

  • This tutorial was very good and I succeeded in installing the needed things, but I've got a problem. I downloaded a game, burned the ISO on a DVD and inserted it in my Wii, but when I used the Backup runner it said that there was an error reading the DVD... Was this the DVD's fault, how can I fix this? :S thanks in advance

  • @kpaenen You can only play burnt games on Wiis made before Q4 of 2008. The new ones have a D4 drive chip that will not load burned discs or DVD movies. There is no fix, other than swapping out your DVD drive with an older model.

  • @RVLhacks Thanks for the answer, I'll keep this in mind when looking for games, thanks again ;)

  • You sir, are awesome, these videos are the best I've seen for a tutorial

  • so we cant play burnt games on the new Wii mine is only a few weeks old.

  • @thewildestone1 You are correct, you can only play burnt games on Wiis made before Q4 of 2008. The new ones have a D4 drive chip that will not load burned discs or DVD movies.

  • thanks it did work !!!!!!!!!!

  • THANKS ALOT!!! you really helped me!

  • Dude thanks for the videos, made it a lot easier than reading a much of steps. Much appreciated!

  • @RVLhacks so bro, now i finished n completed ure awesome tutorial :) how do i download games n play them on my wii? im really uneducated with wiis

  • @RGatman I have sent you a message with the details on how to set up USB Loader GX.

  • @RVLhacks your the bestest man ever

  • I followed this guide, thank you. All the steps were performed correctly. At the end, When I attempt to use USB GX loader, the wii simply restarts. Sometimes there is a little loading screen from GX, other times not.

Do these progrmas need to be updated....? What am I missing?

  • @Shapechanger You need to set up an external hard drive as WBFS with games to load. I have sent you a message with further details on how to set up your USB drive.

  • Can you please tell me how to install d2x cIOS v6 249[56 Base]? I need it to play a certain game. I done all 3 steps in this video. Thanks

  • @a2uploader Send me an email and I'll help you as best as I can. rvlhacks [@] gmail [.] com

  • i done all 3 videos, some games for example mw3 requires ios 250 to play. How do I change this in usb loader gx 2.3 in order to play mw3?

  • @a2uploader It has IOS 250 not sure if it is the rev you need though. You can change it by selecting the game then settings and navigate to the load options and you can change the IOS

  • I downloaded it.

but if I look like an app to download the Wii is fixed.

I am Dutch and I translated it through google

  • @groendjango Do you mean the homebrew browser does not work? If so send me an email and I will help you fix it. rvlhacks [@] gmail [.] com

Bedoel je de homebrew browser werkt niet? Als dat zo is stuur mij een email en ik zal je helpen op te lossen. rvlhacks [@] gmail [.] com

  • Can you please give me step by step instructions on how to install usb loader gx 2.3. I already have v1.0 but it is giving me code dumps whenever I start the usb loader gx 1.0. Thanks

  • @a2uploader You need to follow my guide, the version you have was from a different guide and if it is that old a version your cIOS are likely out of date also.

  • I've already down load all 3 steps, can I go back and install the game que controller, and what type of game que controller to mod?

  • @jedawk53 Yes, you can go back and install the GameCube MIOS Patch later if you would like, however it is not needed unless you wish to play backup gamecube games.

  • I like all 3 video's, thanks alot.

  • thanks is almost works new can u make a vid how to make a hard drive special for and how ye must upload games on it i dont no how i must do that

  • @tana584 Check your YouTube messages, I have sent you detailed instructions on set up of USB loading.

  • Hi my friend,

Great post, thanks! However my dvd playback doesn´t work...in any applications. In WiiMC appears: "dvd playback not support on this Wii".... My Wii is 4.3E (black). Could you help me, please?

    Best regards from Portugal.

    Celso Gonçalves

  • @celsogoncalvesify Your Wii has a GC2-D4 drive chip, these can NOT load any CD or DVD only Wii and GameCube game discs. There is nothing that can be done about this other than replacing your Wii's dvd drive with an older model.

  • Dude, Thanks for the tutorial. You took your time and explained each step wonderfully!

  • Found it. Thanks! Do you have a video on how to put WAD manager on the wii? I want to be able to put NES, SNES and N64 games on my wii.

  • @ferrariracerjv7 WAD Manager 1.7 is included in the download, copy the "Wad Manager 1.7" folder from this "Wii Softmod v3/Wii Softmod/Wii Softmod/Homebrew Apps/" directory to your "apps" folder on your SD card's root. You can then launch WAD Manager from the homebrew channel. OR you could download an Emulator from the Homebrew Browser app for each of the consoles above. Feel free to send me an email if you still need help rvlhacks [@] gmail [.] com

  • I don't have a gc controller either and I tried looking for bootmii in home brew. Can't find it. Do I need to use bootmii?

  • @ferrariracerjv7 Yes you do need to do the BootMii backup, but you do not need to patch you MIOS as that is optional. The "Launch BootMii" button can be found in the Homebrew Channel when you press "HOME" on the Wii remote.

  • great man ,so can u so more video how to play game with USB loader gx, because i did it done when i 'm play game with USB loader but game not running just black green only , i don't know how to fix it. thanks man

  • hey i need a quick reply, if i did this to my hacked wii, will i have to use a new sd card forever or i can use my old sd card back after these processes?? also will i be able to use copied disc games with this?

  • You are a god sent, helped me so much :D Thank you fo such a good tutorial subbed faved like etc and will pass onto friends and be sure they sub :D Thanks again!!

  • @xcherryluv3x Thanks, enjoy homebrew!

  • You are great man. Thanks a lot for this very easy to follow setup!!!!

  • yo i dont have a game cube controller so how do i get in bootmii

  • @tana584 Use the Wii remote to launch BootMii from inside the Homebrew channel, then once it launches you can use the POWER button to navigate and RESET to selecte the highlighted item.

  • I really don't wanna chase you around through emails. I'm just having trouble actually playing the games. You didn't explain that...like...at all.

  • @LaSwagga If you have questions feel free to send me an *email* and I will teach you how to play backups of games you legally own. PIRACY IS ILLEGAL. Play Fair. The email is because I can't say how to do it in less than 500 characters.

  • you rock

  • what should i do ??? cuz i don't have classic controller please respond

  • @anaesmable That step is optional, and it ONLY works with a GameCube controller NOT classic controller. You can skip it as it is not needed.

  • @RVLhacks are you saying that i can skip step three and if i can't skip and i don't have game cube what do u think should i do ??

  • @anaesmable Only the part with the gamecube controller is optional, the rest is required as it helps protect your Wii from bricks by making a backup of the internal NAND chip. If you watch the video and have annotations turned on you will see which part is optional.

  • @anaesmable are you sure it's gonnna work without the gamecube step???? and if u can tell me how to burn a game on dvd cuz the game that i've downlloaded is bigger than dvd space so please tell me and thank you

  • @anaesmable and i have another ques abot usb loader gx should i connect the wii to internet to use usb loader gx or i can play without connect to internet

  • @anaesmable You do not have to be connected to the internet, however you can if you want to play online mutilplayer games.

  • dude wicked GC controller.

  • Can you email me muqstar.23@gmail.com about how to play games in USB Loader GX?

  • WOW i had no bad blocks thats awsome

  • Is it really necessary to use a gamecube controller?

  • @Errol246 It is OPTIONAL, however if you wish to use GameCube homebrew or GameCube backups you will need it. Not all Wiis can load GameCube backups, only pre Q4 2008.

  • @NiteSpeed1 They are normal, bad blocks are manufacturing defects in NAND memory. According to the manufacturer one of these chips can have 80 or fewer bad blocks and still function correctly.

  • what if when im on bootmii backup i have 1 or 2 bad blocks? is this normal?

  • Oh,And could you make a Video on how to use USB Loader GX?

  • YOU ROCK!Thank God for Computer geeks o_o

  • TY MAN:)

  • you my good friend are a ledend! thank you so much, BY FAR THE EASIEST AND THOROUGH WALKTHOUGH I HAVE SEEN.

  • @danandrosha Thanks :D

  • @danandrosha true story!

  • k so im on this step i got some extra apps however... still usb loader gx , and all the other 3 starting apps dont load, as they always come up with some sort but different errors. Furthermore do you use homebrew browser to download games such as black ops and smash brawl or is it something else?

  • @weLeb14 MIOS Patcher is only an installer, once you run it and patch your MIOS you no longer need it. If you deleted it and did NOT yet install the patched MIOS just re-download the file in the description. Also only Wii's that can load burned DVD-R can use GameCube backups. Most Wii's made after Q4 of 2008 can NOT load burned discs.

  • @RVLhacks i burnt a dvd -r of a gamecube game and ran it on one of the gamecube programs and it did not work why?

  • @weLeb14 From my last post "Most Wii's made after Q4 of 2008 can NOT load burned discs." If you followed my guide and ran the DVD-R from the disc channel and it gave you an error you may have one of the D3-2 drive chips that can't load backup discs.

  • @RVLhacks my wii is very old i got i when it came out can u help me?

  • @weLeb14 PM me your serial number and I'll check the drive you have. Did you install the MISO Patcher like I show in the video? Also your backup needs to be an ISO burned at the slowest speed possible, and I know you already said you use DVD-R but double check as DVD+R will not work. Feel free to send me an email if you still need help rvlhacks [@] gmail [.] com

  • great job man, that was awesome!

  • Holy shit dude, thank you. I've been trying for a week to get my wii to play backed up games from a usb hard drive for a week, and i've only gotten it to work thanks to these videos.

    Cheers, brother

  • Yes, my SD card is 1GB.

  • @sethuyala Send me an email or PM and I'll help you troubleshoot. If possible try another card, according to the developers it currently only works with about 75% of SD cards.

  • thanks it worked

  • One Step 3 - During BootMii Backup (chip to SD) - do you know why the process was freeze after about 1-2 mins run. Thanks

  • @sethuyala Do you have enough free space on your SD card? A full backup takes up a little over 512 Mb of space.

  • Thank you so much for your helpful tutorial!

  • i done what you told me but i cant select i see the internal sd slot and it lights up but i press all the bottons and nothing hapens

  • @nilminho Do you have different SD card you could try, that way you know if it is an issue with HBC or with the SD. If not you may want to try recopying the files from the step 3 folder to your SD card.

  • i do the 2 steps and is fine i cant get the 3rd to work i do all as u said but when i put the sd card and luchn the homebrew there is nothing in there , any ideas?

  • @nilminho Check to make sure there is an apps directory on the root of your SD card. If there is an apps directory see if there are folders inside of it. If it still does not show up while in the Homebrew Channel press "1" on your Wii remote and choose internal SD slot as the source.

  • I don't know if you hear this enough but; YOU ARE THE F***ING MAN! Thank you so much.

  • @Drewlissa82 Thanks :)

  • hey i need help i did all the steps with the video and when we went to the homebrew browser it say homebrew list file can't be found please help it wont let me load up the games

  • @thexmistersuperman A fresh copy of HomeBrew Browser should solve your issue. I have sent you a PM with the download link.

  • dude you're soooooo awesome thank u thank u !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dude your a lifesaver!!

  • hey man thx for vid hacked my Wii alg, can u make a video of u showing us like how to download and play any Wii game if it isn't too much trouble? Much appreciated.

  • @DavoMatee For legal reasons I am uncomfortable making a video showing how to download games, but I may in the future show how to backup your own discs and prepare an external hard drive.

  • @DavoMatee Yes, after following this guide you can download Wii, GameCube, VirtualConsole, and WiiWare (plus many emulators like PSX or DS) and play them without paying. However that is piracy, piracy is illegal. Play Fair.

  • sooooo let me get this straight u can download any wii game u want and play for free after doing all these steps?? and can u download N64 games for free? instead of paying $15 for them <,<

  • but other than what i said it was very helpfull

  • could u make a video to show how to install neogamma, and also i did all you said to back up the wii on bootmii and i never got the other channels

  • @365yoyoman Sound's like you skipped Step 2 - Multi Mod Manager, if you do that step it will install NeoGamma and the necessary IOS to play backups. Piracy is ILLEGAL. Play fair.

  • @RVLhacks hey do you know were to download good games like super smash bros brawl? and other games that i can play on wii

  • @xXBlazingAcerXx I'm sorry but for legal reasons I am uncomfortable sharing links to game download site. A Google search will tell you where to go. Remember piracy is illegal. Play fair.

  • @FozzyCraft You can remove it, but some things like USB loader GX are on the SD card you can not run them with out the card (unless you install it to your Wii or to a USB flash drive).

  • thanks for the awesome vids!!!!!!

  • For step three,I don't have that game controller. Is there another way to move forward?By the way, you've done an excellent job.Much appreciated

  • @franzhaiti That step is optional, skip it if you do not want to play GameCube backups. You can always come back to that step later if you chose.

  • @RVLhacks @olizelda .... Continuation: The only resonable way the WADs would be corrupted is if your download failed or had problems unzipping. You can check for corruption by running md5summer.exe on Windows and it will check for you or if you use linux open up terminal and run "md5 /-directory you saved it to-/"Wii Softmod v3.zip" on the zipped file. You should get this as your output: f8950330a2374b4d38a3d809688dc4d2 And if you ever do run into trouble you can recover with BootMii Recov.

  • @RVLhacks thanks bro. subscribed :)

  • would it be fine if i decided to run all of the apps (including usb loader gx) from the homebrew channel instead of installing them as wads? I don't want to mess with that just because of the brick risk.

  • @olizelda The USB Loader GX channel I provide is not a real channel it is just a forwarder to what is on your SD, so it acts like HBC and would load what ever elf is in /apps/usbloadergx. The only way it would cause a banner brick would be if one of the channels WAD was corrupted. I have used these WADs on many Wiis and so have others who follow this guide, but the choice is up to you. To be continued.....

  • @Aspanishguy97 Usually around 3-5 minutes to patch the MIOS for GameCube backups.

  • how long does the gamecube homebrew usually take to install?

  • @FillupZReviews You mean the BootMii menu? If so there is a config file in the bootmii folder set it to autoboot system menu and delay 5.

  • You're awesome man. I had my wii modded already but for the life of me could not get USB loader gx to load. I followed your guide and now I have no problems. Thanks a ton man. Bad ass.

  • how do you make it boot normal again?

  • OMG, THANK YOU, I updated my wii and got wii version 4.3 and my Homebrew got deleted, I saw your tutorial and i did everything u said and now it works.

    Thanks again

  • @timmy10100 For legal/ethical reasons I can not provide you links to games. For a USB hard drive I would format it to WBFS an use WBFS Manager to add ISOs/backups (for this use they are the same). USB Loader GX (installed if following my videos) can read WBFS and FAT hard drives. Piracy is ILLEGAL. Play fair.

  • hi please could you message me on where to get wii iso or backups are they the same thing and now ive done all that if i get a external hard drive download some wii iso and put it in my wii what do i do then to load it use the app called usb loader? will it defitnly work without mod chip and on a 4.3e system and thankyou for your reply to the first comment ohh also do iso and backups work or just iso?

    thankyou

  • @timmy10100 You mean a GameCube controller? The step that needs the GC controller is OPTIONAL. It is only needed if you want to play GameCube backups.

  • what is you dont have a wii controller

  • thank you

  • thanks man did EXACTLY what you said my wii is backing up right now everything seems to be working fine liked and subbed YOU ROCK!!

  • U R AMAZING!!! thanks sooooo much !! u made it so easy :)

  • I have to things to tell you. ILY NO HOMO and thanks a lot.

  • @009clit12 Umm.... Have fun with homebrew!

  • Thanks Man!

  • Would you also be able to help me set up my wii to run Neogamma? I think I'm having a problem with installed IOSs, or lack of installed IOSs.........

  • @Thndrst0rm さん Did you complete Step 2 sucessfuly? If you did you have all of the nessecary cIOS to use NeoGamma and USB Loader GX. If your Wii is a newer model it is incapable of reading burned DVDs. I can calculate, with reasonable accuracy, what hardware revision your Wii is from it's serial number. If you want me to calculate it for you you can e-mail your serial number to me at: rvlhacks@gmail.com

  • I already have homebrew installed on my wii (ver 3.4), is there any way to access the hackmii installer without waiting for the next homebrew channel update to appear on my system?

  • @Thndrst0rm Yes you can run the HackMii installer from the pack I created. I included it as a standalone app that can be run from the HomeBrew Channel. The app is 1.0.8 installer unmodified from Team Twiizers with a PNG and XML file by me.

    Download: In video Description.

Extract the zip file and the installer will be found in "Wii Softmod/(Step 3)Clean-SD-Card/apps" copy The "HackMii Installer v8" folder to the apps folder of your Wiis SD card and run it from the HBC.
