I'm a devout Catholic. But the reason why I love Christian songs that are spirituals, hymns, etc is not based solely on praising God. Yes, since I am Catholic, I do like them for the aspect. But there is something to that. That if I was atheist, I would still like about hymns and spirituals because IT IS ART.

i am singing this song in my talent show Saturday September 17,2011 i hope i get somewhere... i am very nervous it was hard enough to audition in front of 110 ppl who were all auditioning for some kind of talent.. and they loved it but it was still scary.. i cant imagine a whole school full of people!!!! i mean i made it out of 20ppl but i am still very scared i hope i do well. and everyone likes it i love this song..

It's "Down in the Valley to Pray". This is the movie version from , "O Brother Where Art Thou," by the Cohen Brothers soundtrack, who are nice guys, but more jewish than baptist. Hardly something she grew up with. A fine song nonetheless and well done.
