They've pretty much destroyed music as an artform. It's not about making good music anymore - it's about finding some formula that is profitable and beating it to death.
"I love independent record stores. They each have their own character." Yeah, that's why I couldn't tell if this was filmed at the Amoeba in Berkely, San Francisco, or Hollywood. Come to think of it, how does an "independent" record store have three stores, anyway? And how independent are you if you drive Tower AND Rhino out of business, and have Paul McCartney do an invitation-only in-store for you? Why have I never heard of Record Store Day when I've been buying records since 1992?
having worked at the original rhino, i can tell you that place went under due to mismanagement. it was a total mess there. tower was a nationwide chain so amoeba can hardly be held responsible for taking down a nationwide chain. and again you are incorrect about the mccartney show. people who waited in line were able to get in. it

The focus shouldn't be about supporting independent music stores. It should be on supporting independent musicians.
Isn't everybody tired of the four largest record labels dominating everything?
They've pretty much destroyed music as an artform. It's not about making good music anymore - it's about finding some formula that is profitable and beating it to death.

"I love independent record stores. They each have their own character." Yeah, that's why I couldn't tell if this was filmed at the Amoeba in Berkely, San Francisco, or Hollywood. Come to think of it, how does an "independent" record store have three stores, anyway? And how independent are you if you drive Tower AND Rhino out of business, and have Paul McCartney do an invitation-only in-store for you? Why have I never heard of Record Store Day when I've been buying records since 1992?

having worked at the original rhino, i can tell you that place went under due to mismanagement. it was a total mess there. tower was a nationwide chain so amoeba can hardly be held responsible for taking down a nationwide chain. and again you are incorrect about the mccartney show. people who waited in line were able to get in. it
