FYI, this song was written by Buffy Saint-Marie, Singer-Songwriter from Regina, SK. Canada, she is a First Nation Cree from the Piapot First Nation...I think it's great that Elvis recorded this and included in his concert package....cool!!!
I am so excited that i want to become a Elvis Impersonator. And yes i can do it to because i know just about all of his song by hart. Long live the king of rock n roll
these outtakes from elvis on tour were featured from the lost performances dvd. elvis on tour is going to be commercially released soon according to elvis info net. cstanchik
It didn't even matter if he sang live or recorded a song in the studio... The Woice, The Man, The King... now and forever, there will never be another!!!
It has been so long ago, but I do remember just I could not believe I was seeing him in person. I think I cried during the whole show. He was so good looking and talented.
@nutt1957 That is my only regret that I did not see Elvis in concert. The nearest I have been to Elvis was in June 09 when I with a friend visited Memphis and walked up to the meditation garden every morning. It was so peaceful, I felt Elvis there, I don`t mean in body but all around, it was surreal. I am going to the Elvis Lives concert in Feb and cannot wait, I know it will be very emotional.
It is my dream to visit Graceland someday...soon I hope. I can only imagine what it will feel like to be there. Enjoy the Elvis Lives Concert I'm sure it will be a emotional time. I hope it comes around my area one day...I have only seem videos of it on you tube. Thanks for your comment.
I hope you make it to Graceland but if you do try and make the trip to Tupelo also and Beale Street, then you see the beginning, the middle(Beale) and the end at Graceland, I know for sure I will be going back. Enjoy.
Thanks so much for the information..it will be helpful if I can ever get there. If you can I would like to know how the show was. You are very to lucky to be able to experience such an event..
where the hell did you get this? this is from the 72 madison sqaure garden concert that was in the movie elvis on tour...right and that isnt even on dvd yet
no this isn't from MSG, this is Greensboro. as far as I know, the MSG gigs were only recorded, not filmed professionally like this one was. unless someone else on here knows something I dont...
Leadguitarman9...your right this is Greensboro 72.I have the whole of this show[and the Virginia 72} on MP3 and the quality is better than here. Only the press confrence for the 4 June 72 MSG shows was recorded professionally but a lot of good amateur stuff can be found on DVDs or even here on Youtube.
@anthonysmith73 There are many recorded elvis concerts that were not shown on DVD because his manager wouldn't allow it. Colonel Tom Parker was a dick and i blame him for the death of the king. Love you elvis
...and who is responsible for plunging Elvis into concert after concert without concern for his health? Yes, COLONEL TOM PARKER!
You may be partly right, but Elvis took all those prescription pills because of the incessant brown-nosers around him and his cockroach of a manager. There is no denying that.
@matizzle32 Whilst Tom Parker might have been a considerable influence, Elvis certainly took drugs of his own volition and according to many around him at the time enjoyed trying 'cocktails'. Calling them "prescription drugs" seems to reduce the severity of them to many people on here. Don't forget that most drugs are "prescription" although not necessarily 'prescribed' including cocaine, heroin and all the uppers and downers and celebrities have always had their own Dr. Feelgood to 'prescribe'
@matizzle32 I kind of agree with this. While he didnt get Elvis started on the drugs, several members in his band have stated that he didnt care what happened to Elvis as long as he got onstage and sang. I think as his manager, he should have talked to Elvis and said, you're going to ruin your career and life if you don't get clean. Ultimately, it was up to Elvis to save his own life. And we all know how that went, sadly.
One of my favourite Elvis songs. What a man, what a voice. True entertainer, lots of talent. Won't be another one like this ever again...

@ElvisPresleyFanatic1 I think the drugs might have had a little bit to do with his death (14 drugs in his body at the autopsy)

Wrong. Not 14 drugs. Most of what of was found were metabolites of prescribed medications. Get yourself informed.
