  • One of the most sublime pieces of music ever composed...

  • how is this nazi? it's fucking 19th century

  • @rsrecordbreaker

Wagner had anti-jewish views and claimed things such as that jews can't make romantical music or music with feelings. Thus Hitler saw him as a great composer, maybe even the prime example of the German superiority. That's a short summary ofc.

  • Yes, wunderbar.. Leave the nazis..GO and watch the movie, listen to thé music, a perfeçt choice..

  • I always listen to the orchestral version of the Liebestod after this, to hear acutely the consummation of the musical leitmotifs in the overture. It's absolutely amazing.

  • lars von trier said he was a nazi so the jew run media tried to kill the film. The film is also drenched in romanticism which many post modern wankers cant accept because they approach everything as kitsch, especially if it involves white european culture

  • Thumbs up if you don't believe you have to be a fucking Nazi to love this music!

  • Thumbs up if nostalgia of the Third Reich sent you here!

  • I was brought by a short story called a Wagner Matinee'. It was... Sad...

  • I hadn't heard of Melancholia until I came to this page. Why haven't I heard of this film? It sounds cool. Answer me void! Why didn't this film get a release or ads or something?

  • yeah ... Melancholia brought me here ... such a wonderful music !

  • Fuck it, Proust and von Trier were right. This IS the best piece of art ever conceived by mankind.

  • @fullspellcaster Fuck it, Proust and von Trier are wrong! Parsifal Ouverture is a better piece of art than Tristan und Isolde ouverture.

  • @MarkoParabucki there is no better in art there are just things one likes more or less

  • @MarkoParabucki YOU LIE!

  • @MarkoParabucki Personally,Tannheuser is my favorite. I always feel like invading Russia when I hear it!

  • Can someone please tell me the genre of this piece???

  • @Cman995

Romantic Opera. It was from the 19th Century otherwise known as the Romantic period.

  • Sweet, just watched Excalibur.

  • I love it, I Just f...,g love it

  • Sublime.

  • thumps up if you've actually seen the opera in real life ;)

  • It's so amazing, Melancholia used it constantly throughout the movie. Made that dialog-less intro so much more grand and tragic.

  • Thumbs up if "Melancholia" sent you here!

  • @Psifonian2

Love for Wagner's music sent me here !

  • 7:52...maybe the most anguished "scream" in all music.

Imagine having been lucky enough to see Furtwangler perform Wagner live.

  • Wunderbar...

  • Remarkable!

  • With this composition Wagner was able to capture the emotions of love, and transcribe it. Its amazing.

  • Breathtaking;Thank you so much for posting this!

  • @1488bill
