@tekkenmaster2 What do you mean? Stylised wire-fu has been all the rage since the early 90's; they still make fights like this. It's the traditional 70's/80's style of really long takes and authenticicity which you don't get now (except maybe in Thai movies). Not to take anything away from Jet, no doubt it was still an exhausting shoot.

Jet Li is a great martial artist, the problem is he can never stay on the ground. I get tired of seeing him float 65ft. up in the air and then kick someone floating horizontally 30 times. His movies would be more believable if he cut out the cables and special effects. Just plain ridiculous. Showing the true art of different styles is what is all about. Not defying gravity!

it's just a matter of taste, really. wuxia and wire-fu movies were really popular back in the day, but nowadays action movies tend to make their fight scenes a little more realistic. and do movies really have to be so believable? it's just entertaiment after all. personally, i like both, seeing jackie chan do stunts were he barely survives, and also seeing jet li jump and do a 16 hit combo before landing.
