  • @delpoz01 These sin s would go if folk stop breeding and forceing the murder off critter industrys.

  • Great Stuff !

  • great theme song

  • @busdriverrock

    Music by Maurice Jarre

  • Ha! Yes, it's kind of like GUNSMOKE --- the show never, ever looked like western Kansas.

Arizona, Utah, Simi Valley, sure... Kansas? Nope.

  • Yep. This guy is so lost . . . he's about a thousand miles west of the actual Cimarron Strip.

  • This a great TV theme but the name of the series just does not fit with the scenery. "The Cimarron Strip" is another name for the Oklahoma Panhandle, and it sure as hell doesn't look like this. Also, Cimarron, New Mexico, origin of the river of the same name, is a green, beautiful scenic area on the high eastern slopes of the Sangre de Cristo range, and again, not a dry Nevada-like desert area like that which is seen in the opening sequence.

  • How many TV westerns were there?

  • great opening

  • Sierra Nevada in the Background..

  • If you are ever in the area with a nice car...check out Hwy 395 between Mojave and Carson City

The Eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada is beautiful. Many westerns filmed on location near Lone Pine.

  • My Best Television souvenir..!!

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • 58-59 season was 30 westerns on network TV

  • Television's greatest theme, bar none. The best of them all.

  • I second that.

    Where is that quality today?

  • There isn't. All those great composers are gone except for John Williams. This theme was by the late Maurice Jarre of Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago fame. Truly a giant in film and TV music.

  • You said it.

  • Don't forget Dimitri Tiomkin.

  • I second that.

    Merry Christmas.

  • Really great theme music....

  • So wonderful, thanks
