I have owned a 450, a 660, and a 700 and there is no comparison power wise. The 450 and 660 are comparable, but the 700 wins every time in a drag race

@Onewickedgsx Actually I've owned a 450 and 2 700's. The 450 is much faster, especially in the dunes. However, the 450 does NOT do well in the dunes unless it has paddle tires. If both are running knobbies (like in the video) then the 700 will out climb it. Also, the 450 handles much better.

Im a Yamaha guy and I own a 85 225DX and a 86 225 Moto-4 but I can't stand these new bikes. Yamaha needs to go back to the original way bikes were made: big bores, carbs and kick starts. My 87 LT250R will smoke either of these new peices of junk.

Fuel injection rules. Starts right up runs perfect a every altitude and temperature.

The raptor will lug up even if you are in the wrong gear. Also the suspension is more plush. 450's are better for the track, raptor better for dunes.

@shortyjk95 That all depends on the application, if you are trail riding the raptor would probably be better, but for racing, hands down the yfz, raptors are EXTREMELY heavy and to be honest, not a great deal of power

That fuel injection might be nice but i got the good ole yfz450v with a jardine rt99 exhaust, k&n air filter, edelbrock 41mm carb, cam mod, 15 tooth sprocket in front and 36 in back and there isn't to much people around who can touch me.

I have owned a 700 and a 450, and I gotta say the 450 is more of the pick up and go atv, not saying that the 700 can't pickup and go, but the 450 would beat one off the start if you put them side-by-side with the exact same rider, but that being said, the 700 does offer a great deal of top end speed.

@raptor70x0 The 700 has a larger engine but is quite heavy compared to the 450. The 450 is light, and has a decent size engine. Id say on the track a 450 is faster,considering the wheel base differences and what not. But if you do a quarter mile drag, chances are the 700 will win. There both pretty rippin quads.

@shortyjk95 Depends on your height and weight . If your under 200 pounds its best to go with a lighter bike . If your 250 + go with something with a bit more mussel .

@shortyjk95 you could still handle a 450 yeah . That would like comparing me to the Raptor , I am 200 even and around 6 foot . You could drive a bigger bike dont get me wrong , but it would take a more experienced rider . If you get a smaller bike it will be more forgiving is the bottom line .

For knobbies in the sand, you can run 2-2 1/2 psi and will get tolerable traction. The YFZ450R will easily make it up china wall at that pressure (My 400ex does) and not roll the tire off of the bead in fast sliding turns. Sliding with the knobbies on is alot of fun.

@DRAKEandDEMPEPfilms I ride trails and sand pits with my 06 Raptor 700R and I am not disapointed at all with this Quad !! I tried 07 YFZ 450 (not EFI) and I didn't feel to confortable with the handling in pits or trails ! It depends on what you wanna ride ! Check out my vids with the Raptor 700R !
