  • Her hair is sooo healthy.

  • did a great cut and straightened her hair very nice very bouncy and smooth

  • how often are you suppose to trim your ends? And is it best for a stylist to trim than yourself?

  • lol @PinkFluffies nobody give a damn about yo opinion lol

  • @mcbrideinc Your tutorial was very detailed and easy to follow. Her hair looks very healthy. I think you did an awesome job; but as always you will have haters. Anyway, keep up the good work!!

  • @7knetzers DO NOT CUT HER HAIR. Just relax in sections

  • right thru out the washing out of the relaxer i can see the relaxer on the nape of her head are you sure that was washed off properly

  • @lacessamino a relaxer helps to straighten the hair (or relax it). A perm makes straight hair curly using perm rods. Most African Americans unless your hair is bone straight don't get perms unless they are getting a jeri curl. And I've never heard of someone with straight hair getting a relaxer...its just unneeded.

  • Very informative.. .Are beauticians supposed to use a comb to comb through the relaxer? I have received breakage at the line of demarcation since, the beautician touch up my hair after a 6 month stretch... Well my hair is still full SL but, I have noticed some breakage.. I did use a protein treatment ...I guess my hair still has length...but I did notice breakage. I would like to avoid this.. as I am trying to achieve BSL in 2012.. Please advise thxx

  • loved this video. very detauled! can you do more videos like this please!!!!

  • my daughter's hair is down to her behind. do i have to cut her hair to relax it?

  • Ive really learned something. I always thought you were supposed to apply the relaxer to ALL of the hair.

  • May I ask another dumb question? Why is the back of the head called "the kitchen" LOL

  • Whats the differance between a perm and a relaxer?

  • If you ever need a male model for your instructinal video, I have hair down past my shoulders. LOL

  • I found these videos very informative and helpful. I have a little girl

  • What a very clear, concise and informative video. There was NEVER a time when I felt lost and most importantly there was NEVER a blind spot in the video. The camera angles were great. Combined with the education I received, that is what made the video a success.

  • Great tutorial. Enjoyed it :-) xx

  • i have a hair question.. i got my first perm in september and the relaxer didnt really catch to my hair so its still curly... i need a corrective relaxer(virgin) all over my head cause theres no straight hair in sight, just curly.. if i get one again will my hair break off... btw my hair didnt straight nice so i never used heat to my hair after....

  • You did a great! Job. Thanks for sharing

  • What kind of conditioner did you use on her hair before the neutralizing process? Moisture or Protein?

  • She has perm still behind her ear even before the conditioner was applied. SMH!

  • Should you have used a heat protector spray before drying? Just curious. Otherwise, awesome tutorial. Thnx for posting.

  • - can u flat iron your hair u relax it ??

  • why did she cut so much hair off? That's my problem with scissor happy stylist.

  • @pristay7 How are you? To answer your question "why did she cut so much hair off?" is because the ends of my clien'ts hair were split and broken off and the hair I cut needed to be cut to be healthy again. And to your other comment "that's my problem with scissor happy stylist" I'm not "scissor happy". I only cut what's needed at the time for the best results. Thank you for your time.

  • @mcbrideinc I find that usually when women make comments like that, they are usually the one with the paper thin ends and know absolutely nothing about "proper" care & maintenance of the hair. When I hear a comment like that, I automatically look at their ends...and yep I see why they say that b/c their ends are usually a ragedy mess...hair shoulder length but 4 inches of ragedy see through ends!...BTW awesome job..you're a great stylist...this is definitely a "Professional Tutoral" :)

  • @pristay7 i know took me forever to grow my 4 inches back

  • Use French Perm - French Perm Stabilizer Plus with all the other stuff

French Perm Stabilizer Plus for use after chemical service to neutralize hair ph.

  • Her hair is beautiful!

  • ok i'm in chemical class now , they say you shouldn't use the teeth of the comb???

  • Where you got ur nails done at the girl that's doing the relexar they pretty

  • I noticed that behind her ear there was still relaxer even during the shampoo. Won't that cause damage to her hair?

  • @rosey312 I notice that too.

  • Very professional and neat.

  • Whats the name of the reconstructor you used on her hair?

  • ok i have a question I have a perm/relaxer, when the stylist flat iron my hair it comes out compeletely flat but when I do its less flat and kinda puffy. I wash it dry it then apply oil and flat iron it but its not as flat when I do it. I use a ceramic flat iron on 350-400 degrees.

  • Her hair looks limp and dead until you styled it.

  • wow that's a lot of heat!

  • I have long hair ...it's jus about BSL but its a little above Well anywaiis iiwas wondering could i Get a relaxer ?

People tell me ii dnt need one bcuz my hair is soo long Nd Stuff but its jus TO MUCH

    to straightin My hair .

Also Does It Dpend On THee Hair Type To Get a Relaxer ?

  • hello i loved your video! I hope your still answering question? but anyways when ever i wash my hair or get it wet my ends are like puff thier not straight at all. I was wondering what does that mean. I really hope you answer my question

  • i have a question...after the process...can you wash your hair the next day?

  • @ingridpurple08 Can you shampoo ur hair after a relaxer....Absoutely!!!

  • Finally, someone who seems to know what they are talkin about! Question: I've been stretching out my relaxer for 3 months at a time, but I am putting heat on my hair about once a week or once every two weeks with the blow dryer and flat iron. I have to go over my hair about 5 times to get the new growth str8! I've notice with doing this method my hair is growing, but it's breaking too. Is there a way for me to not get so many perms, but stop my hair from breaking too?

  • YOU DID A GOOOOOOOD JOB I LOVE THE WAY YOU EXPLAIN EVERYTHING YOU DO AND WHY YOU DO IT GOOD JOB VERY INFORMATIVE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Could Any Body Tell That That Girl Was Sleepy Starting At Like 4:40

  • Great job looks very nice!!!!

  • great job at relaxing... but if you want a smoother hair... use big rollers/curlers...dry under the hair dryer and then blow dry. that is how dominicans do it. they are pros at relaxing hair.

  • @PinkFluffies girl go head with ur dumb ass comment

  • Comment removed

  • @PinkFluffies U got it!! Dominican are the BEST< MONTERS and QUEENS doing hair !!..lol.. sory for the caps..

  • OMG!! You do such excellent work! Thanks for posting this. I'm having a major problem right now. 10 days ago I had a stylist relax my hair with Mizani Butter Blends after having no relaxer for 91 weeks. My hair is Fine 4A, but not the Finest grade out there. I told her to relax it straight but where I still had some body so applied it root to tip since I was 100% virgin, she left it on for 3-5 min, and didn't press it through , only smoothed it with her hands. They washed me out and it was fine.

  • When I had to wash my hair at home on my own, my hair reverted back where it looks like I don't have a relaxer at all. It's an afro and the only way I can get it straight is to apply direct heat to it after everytime I wash it. If I wanted to to press and curl, I would have just stayed natural! My question is, when can I do a corrective relaxer and how long do I have to wait? and can I do it root to tip again since my entire head came out underprocessed?? It's barely a texturizer!

  • My ends are soooo frizzy and won't even straighten back with a flat iron. This stylist is caught up in not leaving the relaxer in for a real long time because she's afraid of damage but my hair looks terrible and I'm sooo distraught. I feel like they just took my money! If I get a corrective relaxer done, how long should I tell her to leave it in for??

  • Sorry but I had to break this message up in 3 parts because You Tube wouldn't let me put it all in one box. The first part of this message is on the bottom. Thanks

  • Did you go to Ogle Beauty School by any chance? You really know your stuff ^^

  • Now I know why my hair suck!...need to find me a new hairdresser

  • would this be harder on shorter hair? im talkin nia long hair lol

  • Really? So if the hair is overprocressed it can be relaxed again? Would re-relaxing overprocessed hair by a lye relaxer correct it? I never knew you could relax overprocessed hair? Also is there a way to tell the difference between overprocessed and underprocessed hair? And are u in ny? Please say yes! Lol thanks for taking the time out to answer my question I appreciate it.

  • what is a line of demarcation?

  • @mallo496 hello...in simplist terms a line of demarcation is the line being crossed between new growth and previous chemically treated hair....that "line" can get over processed...

  • Can you please do a video on how to do a corrective relaxer?

  • @blackberry815 hi there....to do a corrective relaxer can be very tidious and you have to determine some thinds...is the hair over processed? if so then you want to wait two weeks to relaxer the parts that are over processed ONLY!!! is the hair under processed? if so relax only the hair that is under processed to correct the initial relaxer...

  • @mcbrideinc Thanks for responding I really appreciate it! how can a person determine if their hair is overprocessed or underprocessed? and if it is overprocessed it can be relaxed again? I thought that overprocessed hair had to be cut off. Is that wrong? thanks again

  • So helpful!!! Awesome tips!!!

  • Good job girl :)

  • very nice.well done

  • U r dammmm GOOD!... i wish you were my instructor! thanks

  • What kind of relaxer did you use?

  • I have a question,Iv thought about relaxing my hair, but idk,I have very curly, thick, colored hair,Im half Native American Indian(mom is full) and my dad is Italian, but his great grandma was African,so I have a mixed type hair, would it be best to relax my hair??

  • You did an excellent job with explaining and demonstrating the relaxer process. This is the BEST video I've seen on this topic on YouTube thus far. Keep sharing your knowledge to help others learn the correct way, continued blessings to you!

  • i learnt so much from this video. I am the girl that always relaxes the whole head, not just the growth part. vERY informative. I learnt a lot. bn doing my hair wrong. no wonder its bn breaking

  • I love this video is the best one i'v watch...i love it,,love it...love it...all he others that I watch were no help...thanks.

  • I have viewed several relaxer tutorials and your tutorial ranks at the top . Your teaching is wonderful, easy to understand and detailed. I have learned so much, I feel like I can apply a relaxer on myself. Please consider giving a permanent wave(wave nouveau etc.) tutorial at some point. Thank you for the lesson.

  • thank you! great video!

  • U DID GOOD GIRL...ENJOYED THE VID

  • wow...her hair looks absolutely amazing in the end

  • good job! Nice work

  • Seems as if i learn more from youtube then from my cosmetology class.. THANKS FOR HAVING SUCH A GREAT VIDEO!!!

  • What is your opinion on ORS Olive Oil Relaxer.? I havent had any chemicals put in my hair for about 3 months and i want to try that.. Before i put my weave in I had a texturizer. Do you think the Olive Oil Relaxer will be good ?

  • nice!!!

  • Hi. :)

What styling products did you use on her hair?

It looked incredibly shiny when you blow dryed her hair straight and even shiner when you flat ironed.

  • what is nutrilizing shampoo 4? its purpose? why cant i use regular shampoo?

  • @hairspeaks Great question. Neutralizing shampoo returns the hair's Ph balance back to it's normal state which is 4.5-5.5...When u relax ur hair the Ph balance goes up to 11.5-13.5 which is dangerous because ur hair is at an extremely weak state. If u use regular shampoo it will not neutralize and ur hair will eventually dry up and break off.

  • @hairspeaks i had to sub ! u got some knowlegde so... one more question. if a relaxer says regular med or extra strength is it safe to say its a lye relaxer automatically? or can a no lye relaxer also have dif grades?

  • @danygrl08 Stop posting your ignorant comments on my video honey. Your whole comment is false and fraudulent.

  • Great job! I am Asian and I have very frizzy dry coarse hair. Will the relaxer work for me as well?

  • after i do my perms my hair is knotted up towards the ends. What does that mean

  • good explaination of a relaxer and wat it does to your hair.

  • This is such an amazing tutorial!! I'm a professional stylist and was wondering what brand of relaxers you would recommend? A stylist I work with was talking about the "Avalon" kind. What do you think?? Thanks!!

  • FINALLY, a stylist who TRULY knows what she's doing :)

  • what is a good reconstucturer in your opinion.

  • its a sham that more stylist don't apply relaxers like you. this is how i relax my own hair and when i went to a stylist i had to insist they do it that way. where are you located? thanks for making this video, it tells you really care about the health of your clients hair.

  • you really did a good job on her. I came out real pretty!!

  • Wow!!! I"m going to try this myself..my stylist is no where near this cautious when applying my relaxer and becoming more aware of healthy hair care I will be taking care of my hair from now on. Thanks!

  • I'm getting my next install soon, so would you have any tips for relaxing only the edges and baby hairs? I don't want to relax my whole head, just my leave out, cos I don't want breakage, thanks =)

  • what was the brand of your hair blowdryer and flat iron?

  • @nemoxy29 it doesn't matter what the brand is just as long as it's ionic, ceramic, and/or tourmaline. some brands have all three but it must have at least one of the three. If it doesn't have either of the three don't use it because it produces positive heat thus making the hair dry. With ionic, ceramic or tourmaline it produces negative heat that substains moisture from the inside out. Stay away from titanium tools.

  • Hi, I love this tutorial. I wish I could find a stylist like you around me. Anyways, what reconstructor did you use when after you washed the relaxer out?

  • @zinnara1 a great reconstructor to use is Motion's CPR. It's very moisturizing and full of nutrients and protein.

  • How do you keep a style like this looking good until your next relaxer? I had a style similar to this one that I got at a salon and it started getting stiff and frizzy the 4th day I had it. I didn't put nothing in my hair but some chi infusion hair spray when flat ironing.

  • @Numba1Chanelle Some peoples hair can't stay bouncy and shiny for long. Your hair naturally produces it's own oils and with that your hair attracts dust and particles from the air that can way it down. Also you produce sweat daily and moisture from the mist in the shower or steam in the bath tub. All of these things can be the reason for your hair losing it's bounce and shine. In simple terms you may have to wash, condition and flat iron your hair every 5-7 days to maintain this look.

  • I enjoyed your tuturial. What is the difference between lye and no lye relaxer? Which one is better?

  • The hair came out real nice. You said to use a reconstructive condition, what is a good brand of reconstructive conditioners. This is the best relaxer lesson I saw.

  • @ lilmzthunda yes it is important to NOT let the relaxer touch the scalp. However you may get a little on the scalp naturally because you have to smooth the relaxer out and that's why you put a protective coating on the scalp with the base thus leaving the scalp protected. Hopefully you understood that.

  • i love this video, i have a question? what base did you use

  • lol looks like she's falling asleep! haha this is a good tutorial!

  • is there any way you can do a corrective relazer on yourself? if you used no lye relaxer when the hair was underprocessed initially, should you do the corrective with a lye relaxer instead?

  • very nice video. thank you very much

i have a question: i just got my hair relaxed but im not sure how much time should i wait until i cant wash it normally... 24 hours? 48 hours? i dont know... this is the second time i relaxed my hair but the first time i think i messed it all up because i washed it the first night haha...

i would really appreciate it if you reply... thanks in advance

    :)

  • thank u for the comment. when you relax your hair there is no wait time in shampooing your hair.

  • Hi thanks for the video but one question would you relax the hair that has been under processed last because i have some under processed hair...

  • @ janiehawa. you asked if i would relax hair that has been under processed last? It sounds like you need a corrective relaxer so that means your stylist would have to go in and relax that particular section of your hair and and maintain a proper time to when the curl pattern is straight.

  • wow you put my stylist to shame! No overlapping...you took your time and the hair had movement. I realize now I have to raise my standards!

  • what's better aphogee conditioner or kera care?

  • You did a great job on her hair, thats the way it should be done. Did you use any leave ins before flat-ironing or blow-drying

  • @omthomas thank you for the comment. You asked if I used any leave-ins on her hair. Yes I did. Its HCO leave-in conditioner by Design Essentials.

  • Her hair is bOMb. Where are you located in DE? I will travel to get my hair done!

  • Thank you for this tutorial! It was really good!

  • What do you recommend for hair that has been relaxed and colored with a permanent color, I mean bleached. I think you shouldn't get anymore relaxers or you should cut the hair short and start over but what if the person want to hold on to the medium length they have. There is a loootttttt of shedding

  • well it sounds like the hair has been extremely damaged and over processed. you can continue to do conditioning treatments and get some protective styles for a few months so your hair isn't exposed and can take a rest. you may need to cut it off all together. In saying that you will have to consult a professional stylist. I can't really make an analysis without actually seeing the hair myself.

  • Thanks for you reponse

  • Thanks for your relaxer vids with clear and thorough instructions. I'll keep your method in mind when it's time for my 8 week touchup.

  • I LOVE this tutorial. You were so imformative & answered all my questions. I'm very confident about self relaxing now. Thanks so much. Her hair looks great!!!

  • glad that i was of help to you.

  • yeah i see that i knew that.
