  • is that a epiphone guitar ????

  • @13FooFighter Yeah

  • RL Burnside was and always will be a fucking beast.

  • Lot to be learned here.thanx a million

  • I know nothing about music but know I can't turn this guy off. Could listen to him 24 hours a day! Blues is the BEST! HIS blues! Corey Harris is right up there too.

  • f#cking the man! Not going to hate on today's artists, some are good some are bad just like in any era, but man, no one, no one can even come close to this shit.

  • I love RL's expression of total of total sang-froid as he bangs out this amazing shit on the guitar.

  • RL Burnside, an amazing and underappreciated bluesman.

  • It's not the Bob Dylan cover I was expecting, but it's damn good. Daaaamn good! Incredible, in fact.

  • His guitar sweats after hes done playing it, THE WAY HE HITS THAT THING MAN! ON BOTH END, SHIT! LOOK AT THE GUITAR WHEN HE PLAYS IT LOOKS LIKE ITS GETTIN A WORKOUT

  • As always I will say R.L. is and was the best blues player ever.....try "When my first wife left me"

  • That is too Damn good. Thank you R.L.!

  • yeah im so glad this shit is preserved so we can learn from all these amazing bluesmen

  • Just wanted to say this is why I love the internet.

  • jea

  • can anyone tab it , or if there is any tab on net link it ,i cant find :(

  • @strale22

No tabs available, as far as I know though, but maybe if you look for tabs from the orignal version "Ain't that just like a woman" by Louis Jordan, you can bluesify it yourself ;-) good luck!

  • @strale22 if you watch what he's doing you can kind of work on interpreting it yourself. There's a lot of shuffle type stuff on the bass along with treble from the pentatonic. Try working on the rhythm and improvising as you go.

  • Brother.....Ya got more soul than you can control. This is TRUE "back porch" blues....my fav.....You do yo'self proud!

  • To all of you out ther that thoaght that you could play guitar

  • I'd like to thank the North Mississippi Allstars for introducing me to this man.

  • what tuning is R.L. using? Anybody know?

  • epiphone

  • Open G (or what RL called Spanish tuning), but he also used standard tuning

  • It's open G tuning raised a half step.

  • So open G#?

  • Well... I'm not sure if it can be called like that, yet it definitely goes like this: D#-G#-D#-G#-C (or B# if you like)-D#.

  • Yea, that's definitely open G# or Ab.

  • So distinctive!

  • very nice

  • This is the real deal! Awesome!

  • That's it - I'm now hooked on the blues because if Him.

  • So glad my last name is Burnside! : )

  • i know dats' right!

  • Believe seasick steve played some with RL. Think RL learned him quite some...

  • holy shit, this guys out of a book or something.

  • This is what I'm talkin about!!

  • Holy motherfucker, I love this song!

  • What is the video called? Is it still in print?

  • Called: Johnny Woods -R.L.Burnside

Swingmaster video 4 contains 12 songs

  • "Wish I was in Heaven Sitting Down" should have won a grammy. And these vids are the besxt blues vids I've ever seen. right wookie open g and the thumb goes both ways.

  • I am a Burnside from the hills of West Virginia, this is the music that soothes my souls and runs through my veins. Love ya R.L You will never be forgot by this Burnside

  • fuck yea

  • I would like to hear Louis Jordan...because this is perfect...cant imagine it being played better...RIP R.L.

  • I believe it's "Samson and Delilah was on the square". From the Bible.

  • "...self-a-delta-kie-ya was on the square, one night she clipped him for all his hair..."

    any other guesses?

  • Doricainred they lyric is:

Samson thought delilah was on the square, one night she clipped him for all his hair...talking about the story from the Bible.

  • and what is the first lyric? something about an old apple tree?

  • Hey Capsized the first lyrics is:

There was Adam, happy as a man can be......but Eve started messing with that old apple tree, that's just like a woman.

Again talking about a story from the Bible.

  • "God bless RL and All the great named and unnamed Blues Masters who have departed this mortal coil". This is the REAL Blues!

  • this a perfect blues song....roll with it....weed helps

  • ..aie aie aie, ça c'est bon!

  • I think Louis Jordan origanaly did this tune

  • You're right, Louis Jordan recorded "Ain't That Just Like A Woman" in January 1946.

  • i can't find them anywhere but then again they're not that hard to make out yourself, so don't be lazy. or make them up a little if you can't hear what hes saying

  • Yours ears 'n' experiences are all lyrics yll ever need..

  • What tuning does he use on this tune? I'd like to learn to play like this? Or at least close...
