  • I remember this contest very well, and I think you should have won the first place. Your footage is sure very short, but it recreates the feeling of the original Skull Island beautifully. Do you plan to post it again in a higher resolution someday? There was also a little "lost and found" text at the beginning, which doesn't appear in this version, right? Sorry for my bad English, actually I'm French ;)

  • Cryptozoology novel see video book trailer

  • WoW, that was really good animation, you should do more

  • Very nice.

  • wow. If this didn't win I'd love to see what did. Great stuff.

  • That´s a very interesting looking raptor dinosaur. very reminiscent of the dinosaurs from kong´s day!

  • nice too bad u didnt win u desurved it!

  • First, you're right, Willis O'Brien was a true genius. And second, I think your work is a great tribute to him. Really nice job.

  • Awesome.

  • Oh, man, I'd love to use this in my movie!

  • GOOD JOB!!!

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! is it a type of allosaur or dromeosaur?

  • did the person who made it tell you that.......... if not it is impossible for you to say.

  • Well, to me, it looks like a Baryonyx. There a problem?

  • No, no problem i was just saying, really this animal could be a fictional dinosaur made up by the guy who made the model that is why i asked if it was a dromeosaur or an allosaur because i did not know what it was because he never said what it was. (Sorry if i offended you)

  • I thought you did, like in a nasty tone, but it's cool.

Maybe this dinosaur has traits of all three species, could it not? The appearance of a Baryonyx, the ferocity of a Dromaeosaurus, and the size of an Allosaurus.

But then again, it's just a guess.

  • yes it dose seem to carry traits from all three species.

  • i dont think so, baryonyx mainly preyed upon fish and had long claws on its thumbs, i diddnt see any extra long claws on this guy, plus baryonyx i dont think would need to pounce like this guy did, baryonyx mainly scooped up fish with his snout, veloceraptor actually hunted his prey and was capable of leaping like this guy here, im pretty convinced this is a raptor

  • it is possible, but this animal did not have a killing claw on its feet. i don't know what it is. i just appreciate this guys animating skills!

  • @rancorslayer184 What? This is a real animal at all. Theropods have feathers. The closest real life animal this thing looks like is a mangy dog (or chupacabra, if you like).

  • @egdeltur666 dude dont hate the creature, back then ppl didnt know what dinos were besides lizards... its a great peice of work animationdaddy made so pls dont bash him!

  • It's gotta be a deleted scene from the original or something!

I know you did it. But OMG! That is the smoothest animation I've ever seen.

  • Fantastic!! MORE!! MORE!! MORE!! :o)

  • WOW!!!! You are amazing!!!!! How did you do that?

  • cool, kong velociraptor!

  • awesome, i live this short video

  • Willis O'Brian would be so proud!!

  • could you make a list of things you needed to make the baryonix?(if thats what the dinosaur is.)

  • hello?

  • Chiodo brothers should be calling!

  • Pretty good!

  • Great stuff! Excellent puppets and animation. Nice recreation of that Skull Island,Gustave Dore vibe too.

  • is there a place where you can buy these stop motion models?

  • It's Amazing! Beautiful Work! Willis O'Brian would be proud!!

  • Wow, nice job. Were the pterodactyl models supported on wires? If so, great job eliminating them. Did you do any digital processing on the images? This is very impressive!

  • Awesome, I love it! I want to see the battle! How did you make the Dinosaur? And what was it by the way?

  • Awesome!

  • really good work

    i really enjoyed this

  • This is very very well made. The stop-motion was very smooth and free-flowing and of course this links so well to the original film Great work Make more of these man you have talent.

  • Please--please keep up the good work! Beautifully done.

  • excellent! I love the way the dinosaur ducks when the flying critters zip by. The mist was nice, too. Great job!

  • Looks pretty damned good to me.

  • This is amazing. Was the contest about creating a scene for the original King Kong, and if so, this rocked. Out of curiosity, what were the official rules and who won?

  • Thanks. The contest was to create a new creature that Kong would fight. You didn't need to show Kong. You only had 2 weeks to create the video, so there wasn't much time. I cannot remember who won. I was 3rd place. I wanted to recreate mine so it looked like it was done for the original movie.

  • Looks amazing! =D
