Scandinavian has very good trained troops. Able to repel any enemy, Norwegians achieved the first victory in WW2 as well against the German troops. Norwegian troops also shoot down German fighters with their rifles, one German officer said that whenever they stuck their helmet up it would be shoot by Norwegian infantry

But the fact is when it comes to war, Norway ain't got shit against most other countries because the Norwegians vote for the parties that hardly gives any money to the military. But its tax system is harsh on the population, the infrastructure, hospitals and nursery homes sucks, and the military has been reduced to a pathetic dot.
the funny part of living in scandinavia is that we are like a big country when people attack one country. for example, if there is a war in norway, sweden, finland, and denmark will definatly help (i know finland actually ain´t scandinavian).

This is only a stereotype of what a norwegian speaking english really would sound like. Matter of fact, norwegian people is decent english at speaking english. At least where I'm from (south-eastern part of Norway). I understand that some people further up north have more of a prominent accent, though, considering their dialect makes it harder for them.
These guys are from "Heimevernet (HV)" I think, our Home Guard. They're good considering their role, overall they are obligated to have field exercize about once per month I think.
We have own special units for tasks like border guards (in the northeast) and army missions (not the same as HV). Just putting this out there, correct me if I am wrong.

It's fun to see that the Norwegian Home Guard troops in the clip still use the same equipment as some are using today. For christ sake, I'm in the Home Guard Youth and we get the same BF (the hat), same backpacks, same field uniform.. It's lovely :P
@megrune94 That stuff is made to last a long time. During Cold Response 2010 my sergeant had brought along field rations (RSP) that way were older than either of us. It was still surprisingly tasty and nutritious. And the BF is just pure luxury, there is nothing better to wear when lying on OP or sitting on watch. I love it! ;D

@nyhammer1 They are fighting the Home Guard, the speartip of the Norwegian defense. They called us the White Death Ski Troops because we are good, we blend with the enviroment and we are darn quick on skiis.
These Norwegian soldiers are weekend warriors. They're conscript national guard units. Morale is often not the best as most of them would rather be at home working instead of being in the bush playing soldiers. The quality is significantly lower than that of regular Norwegian troops. It's still an important part of the defence as a whole.
@taffelost .... hey, we have something called HEIMVERNET, thats the people. They go to military school and learn the basics, like firing guns and basic medic stuff... All norwegians have to go to Heimvernet when there 18. But we also have a main army thats fully trained soldiers like the marines... But we also have Heimvernet with thud play a major part if Norway was invaded. All norwegians know how to use a gun.... Meanwhile in Fek, america only soldiers know how to do it right....
White Death Ski troops are badass, but quit shitting on the Marines. They are our defense force, so forgive us if we support our troops instead of your troops.

Our troops. Are one of the top trained special soldiers in the world. Why? Because our army is in fact just the size of 20 000 soldiers. See? That's why we can train and perfect our troops in the art of war. But in man-power we are in deep shit.
It's expected that Norway whould survive for 15 minutes if USSR whould go to war. (Back in the cold war) and that's why we have to train, so we can hold out longer. And get help from our allies.

Was Norway at all capable of aiding anyone in WW2? I thought we were mostly busy enough with underground resistance (since our military force wasn't, and isn't, that impressive) to combat our own occupation.
Norway was neutral in WW2 until invaded by the Nazis because Hitler was fraid Britian could use Norway to launch navy campaigns against his forces. When the Nazis invaded the fight lasted for 3 days and after the war 50k traitors were tried and convicted of treason. Or so says the Norwegian immigration course.

Dear idiots commenting. Finland is the only military power in Scandanavia. In fact, they were a military power even when they had no real military force. At the start of the Winter War, Finland had literally nothing. THey used knives and their bear hands whenever they could get close enough to Russians because the ammo wasnt worth the kill. And Finland had ski troops ever since there was skis. Fact is that skis are just an easy way to get about.

This is only a stereotype of what a norwegian speaking english really would sound like. Matter of fact, norwegian people is decent english at speaking english. At least where I'm from (south-eastern part of Norway). I understand that some people further up north have more of a prominent accent, though, considering their dialect makes it harder for them.

These guys are from "Heimevernet (HV)" I think, our Home Guard. They're good considering their role, overall they are obligated to have field exercize about once per month I think.
We have own special units for tasks like border guards (in the northeast) and army missions (not the same as HV). Just putting this out there, correct me if I am wrong.

It's fun to see that the Norwegian Home Guard troops in the clip still use the same equipment as some are using today. For christ sake, I'm in the Home Guard Youth and we get the same BF (the hat), same backpacks, same field uniform.. It's lovely :P

@megrune94 That stuff is made to last a long time. During Cold Response 2010 my sergeant had brought along field rations (RSP) that way were older than either of us. It was still surprisingly tasty and nutritious. And the BF is just pure luxury, there is nothing better to wear when lying on OP or sitting on watch. I love it! ;D

These Norwegian soldiers are weekend warriors. They're conscript national guard units. Morale is often not the best as most of them would rather be at home working instead of being in the bush playing soldiers. The quality is significantly lower than that of regular Norwegian troops. It's still an important part of the defence as a whole.

All norwegians have to go to Heimvernet when there 18. But we also have a main army thats fully trained soldiers like the marines... But we also have Heimvernet with thud play a major part if Norway was invaded. All norwegians know how to use a gun.... Meanwhile in Fek, america only soldiers know how to do it right....

Our troops. Are one of the top trained special soldiers in the world. Why? Because our army is in fact just the size of 20 000 soldiers. See? That's why we can train and perfect our troops in the art of war. But in man-power we are in deep shit.
It's expected that Norway whould survive for 15 minutes if USSR whould go to war. (Back in the cold war) and that's why we have to train, so we can hold out longer. And get help from our allies.

2) Simo Häyhä or "White Death" was Finnish sniperin in the Winter War, he has the highest recorded number of confirmed kills in any major war. Simo Häyhä killed over 505 Russian soldiers in 100 days and he never used a scope.

Norway was neutral in WW2 until invaded by the Nazis because Hitler was fraid Britian could use Norway to launch navy campaigns against his forces. When the Nazis invaded the fight lasted for 3 days and after the war 50k traitors were tried and convicted of treason. Or so says the Norwegian immigration course.

Its like killing a fly, even vegans do it. Sweden also served in NATO conflicts like Kosovo and the Middle East, but because these are just peace-keeping forces, it hardly constitutes involvement in a war.

Dear idiots commenting. Finland is the only military power in Scandanavia. In fact, they were a military power even when they had no real military force. At the start of the Winter War, Finland had literally nothing. THey used knives and their bear hands whenever they could get close enough to Russians because the ammo wasnt worth the kill. And Finland had ski troops ever since there was skis. Fact is that skis are just an easy way to get about.

There was a finnish sniper during world war 2, who is believed to have killed nearly 500 Red Army soldiers by himself. His name was Simo Häyhä and is today recognized as the greatest sniper there has ever been. His nickname was Belaja Smert which means "the white death"...
