Common sense says that raising your butt means your body has to come further to be upright, but maybe it's the extra spring that gives you power?
@JamesBoy4LifeMan4Luv I think it's a lot more to do with getting your legs at 90 degrees, although a straight back is undoubtably better than a bent one, you can only get both your legs at around 90 degrees by raising your lower back and bum up that high, this is the optimal angle in order to give your legs much more explosive power in the start, once you're used to it of course.

This was in Toronto at Olympic spirit and he was filming for a UK travel show, they needed someone for him to run against so I volunteered.
