The truth is that the reason Fox News came into being was because of the extremely biased left wing coverage provided by all of the major networks. CBS was the most biased. So for Walter to complain of bias is like the pot calling the kettle black. On a related note, before Rush Limbaugh has his national radio program, all of talk radio was left wing. One final comment.Obama wants to reinstate the so-called fairness doctrine. He just wants to squelch all criticism of him and his record!

What should have been one of the biggest stories in American in early 2011 didn't get a single mention - Murdoch paid NEGATIVE taxes. That's right, not only did he manage to have his lawyers get him out of paying any taxes at all, but he actually received a refund from the United States Government. Yet, as a typical hypocrite, Murdoch's Fox "News" dares to say that businesses should be left alone to do as they please without regulation. He's a criminal through and through.

The tax burden has been on the middle class and poor for centuries, while the wealthy and super wealthy have sought every way possible to pay as little taxes as possible. This is immoral. The more money you have the more responsibility you have to your community. Everybody should seek to pay their taxes and be a good citizen. Rupert Murdoch's organization owns most of the global media.

@TheTubePortal You're right. But if I had a lot of money, I would choose to donate to charities (especially animal charities) as well as help people out who are less fortunate. Giving money to the IRS and the government - in theory - should be doing that, but we all know that very little of this money goes into helping the community. So while I agree with you on some points, I don't think that paying more taxes is ever a good idea for anyone, so I won't fault him for that.

@TheTubePortal If you Google "Murdoch Negative Taxes" the first three hits are from moderatevoice, Salon, and reuters, all saying that that story was false, has been retracted, and the author David Cay Johnson (who worked for Reuters) apologized for the error. All of them posted the retraction/apology story in July 2011. It'll be interesting to see when you post your retraction of the lie.

They may say they watch it, but they can't afford to accept important news, financial, foreign affairs, etc., by Fox News. Imagine somebody with lots of money on the line actually paying attention to what Neil Cavuto actually says. Ditto with "news anchors" like Chris Wallace, let alone the opinion-based sillyness of Hannity, Beck and O'Reilly.

Let me put it this way... let's say that a Republican politician puts out a press release that they know to be false (it happens all the time on both sides). Legitimate networks don't report on it, or if they do, they are sure to make it clear that it is opinion. Fox, however, reports on it, ad naseum, as if it were fact. Now... how can that Republican politican really watch Fox expecting to get real news, he KNOWS THE SCORE.

To be blunt, Fox news *is* hopelessly biased.....BUT I find this criticism coming from Cronkite extremely ironic considering the fact that the rise of Fox news [and talk radio] is pretty much due to him (and his cohorts) at CBS. Even though I strongly disagree with Fox News, I believe we shouldn't sink to their level and just attack/insult them or their viewers. The majority of america voted, and said we're better than that. I see many insults come from both sides, but I predominantly see them come from the far right first, and then insults follow from the left in retaliation, but we need to be better than that. Anger serves no purpose in civil debate, so I implore all(especially the far right) to practice more civility

You absolutely can be biased in reporting actual events. For example, when the Sanford thing happened, Fox identified him as a Democrat (they also did that with child molester Mark Foley). Even their non-commentators comment on things and highlight things that make the left look bad, while being more forgiving to the right.

I can't even you don't realize Fox News is a very conservative channel. I don't care if you watch it, I just want you to be aware its NOT fair & balanced.

The problem is that these "opinion shows" take up most of the 24 hour schedule. MSNBC most definitely has a nauseating Liberal slant (save Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan), but the majority of time it is still dedicated to news.

The indignation over Fox comes from its inaccurate reporting, and the fact that they demonize people who disagree with their politics.

Part of the deal though is a lot of the media you see as "left wing is because they aren't right wing, not because they are on the left, and that's why they get no love.
