Fuck Grammy's, like that's a measure of quality, they won them cause they're commercial as hell. All of their songs sound the same, boring. I wouldn't see them live if someone paid me, and I live for the concerts...
I agree with Red40Wings13. Stop watching these videos if you hate them so much. But you do have an interest in them if you spend your time watching U2 videos.
The h that gives us moral there. Assist "Carnaloucos in Rio." A video I made with some friends in Copacabana. A mixture of Funk with Samba. Stay with God, embrace.
A eh gente dá essa moral aí. Assistam "Carnaloucos in Rio". Um vídeo que fiz com uns amigos em Copacabana. Mistura de Funk com Samba. Fica com Deus, abraço.
lol Bono and the guys are still pretty funny even though they messed up. I mean give them a break, after 30 years of playing music I think we can cut them some slack.
In the pantheon of great rock bands U2 wouldn't even be allowed to serve drinks. The Doors, Led Zep, Bob Dylan, The Who. These are the acts people should aspire to. Music played with passion and flair as opposed to paint-by-numbers "rock" churned out by U2. They are on the same level as Britney Spears, consistently insisting that they put on a "show". If you want to see a show, go to the theatre.
That's what happens when you have to deal with pre-recorded tracks, and hidden musicians under the stage. A notch above Jonas Brothers. U2 could learn a thing or two by checking out a PHISH show.
They could learn even a lot more from a Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin concert as well... they would do 3+ hour concerts sometimes, raw! No one but just them.
See the real Gods of rock like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. They'd perform some half-hour songs on tour and they'd do so spot on, and if they made something along the lines of a mistake, they were so good that they could fix them instantly, in mid-song. Those are the real greatest.
Oh come on, not every song needs to be 20 minutes long, you know? And it's ok to do a mistake, especially at the first night of your new tour after 5 years you haven't toured!
You completely misunderstood. By "some songs", I meant one or two per show. But PER SHOW, which means they'd perform those couple of long songs very often. And actually you have to give kudos to bands that do songs of that length with the stamina factor. And actually U2 toured into 2006, so it's more like 3 years. And also, in rehearsing the band payed most attention on their new tracks, not their good old ones. Mistakes aside, they lack the passion they used to have with the older tracks.
First thing, I agree that it's a bit sad that that they don't give the same attention they used to, to older songs, but it makes sense that they'll give more attention to new songs! Peopel get sick playing the same thing over and over again for years, but they still do it
Oops! I accidentally send it before I finished. Anyway, they still do them and they do them well, because they know people want to hear them. Many band, not just U2. Springsteen for one, didn't agree to play songs like Born To Be Wild in his Glastonbury show...
Of course they'd be more excited about the new songsm even if I prefer to hear a great One.
Second, I see you don't like U2 and you like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppeling which I also like, so leave the U2 vidoes and go write on the PP and LZ videos.
Let me clear some things up for you. I actually do enjoy U2. They were great in the 80's and into the 90's. But today they have "Americanized" their sound, which is a true shame because it was their good old selves a while back that made them good. Their new album is probably their worst because U2 is now going with the flow. They are going with the instinct of being 'catchy', and not passionate. Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin were always passionate and never sold themselves into the flow.
Well thank you russell7771181 for being one of the only few ones I've discussed this with who actually understands this simple concept. It's not hard really, they were good in the 80's, not as good as Floyd and Zeppelin are but they were good in the 80's... now it's like they are a completely new band out of the USA.
"new band out of the USA" comment makes utterly no sense as there is a wide variety of bands in the USA with no one sound.
So they sound like a new band out of the USA? As opposed to sounding like an Irish band? Because last I checked they don't really tote around the Urillean pipes or flutes/penny whistles on stage or on their albums like The Dubliners, The Pogues (a truly great freaking Irish band as well) or The Chieftans..
I would beg to differ on this, because many bands have their own sound, except it is REDUNDANT. I'm pointing out Nickleback, Green Day, and recent U2 when talking "Get On Your Boots" and etc. Basically all bands out of the US these days go by the same song structure and that is just repetitive; lacks depth. They don't write anything deep. U2's "Irish Days" brought some great songs like With Or Without You, Streets, Bad. You are stereotyping Irishmen, taking yet another discussion off track.
Maybe you need to refresh you memory, do you recall the THE WALL tour? They could only play in NYC and LA in the States to break even, if that. They had a wall built through the whole show, and once Roger Waters left, David Gilmour became couldn't wait to exploit the Pink Floyd name.
I am 17 years old, I was not born until 91'. And also, you completely misinterpreted things too... it's as if so many people are trying to jump on my comments based on their intial thought and not really take in anything and just bash me for being critical towards U2. I was talking about the overall legacy of Floyd and Zeppelin, not the 80's... I would not have mentioned Zeppelin for that matter anyways because they stopped in 80' as it is!
Moment of Surrnder, a 7 minute long song of Bono screaming his heart out is a "catchy" tone? Fez-Being Born? White As Snow? I don't think that U2 is going with the flww. U2 IS the flow. They'd a huge influance on many bands that are big today like The Killers and Coldplay.
I agree that this isn't their best album, but I don't think it's their worst. HTDAAB is their worst album.
If you rate a song based on how much screaming there is, you seriously have little knowledge on music, I'm not accusing you of it, but just pointing it out in case you happen to do so. You did not mention their more commercially successful tracks like Get On Your Boots or Magnicficent, those tracks are catchy and then some. The Killers and Coldplay are nowhere near as good as some of the older bands that influenced U2 ;-) David Gilmour of PINK FLOYD widely influenced Edge's reverberation...
Back to U2. This is the first time I've ever seen them mess up on a song and I've seen them on every tour since Joshua Tree, so thanks for posting this. It's kind of funny. They are 49, first night of the new tour, Edge has an ear mic so funny mess up. Handled very smoothly. Either way I'll take a live U2 show any day over a live Coldplay, LZ or Floyd.
Now you are just trolling the discussion and putting words into my mouth. I was GIVING EXAMPLES, and Floyd sets many great examples with music. I didn't just say I love Pink Floyd so much and they are the best, no no, I was pointing out examples of influence on U2. I also pointed out how U2 is playing to pre-recorded music, which lead to the mistake! It's your choice of what show you'd rather see, but I'm just pointing out Floyd & Zeppelin are a clear level above U2 professionally-speaking.
Ok, now that you've attacked my music knowledge and started being so fucking arrogent, you totally lost me, and I tried to keeping this a civil discussion until now.
I don't rate a song because of a screaming. You totally misunderstoof what I wrote. Yes, I think MOS is one of the best songs on the album, but I just gave it as an example for a song that is not "catchy". Yes, GOYB and Magnificent is pretty "catchy", but not the whole album is like that.
About my knowledge in music, I don't want to be as arrogent as you but I won't let it slide. I'm a bit older than you (I'm 22) and U2 has been my favorite band for 9 years and I know almost all of their songs, not just the "screamy ones". I've great knowledge in music, I've got a massive CD collection, I know every new band that gets out to the market.
, I listen to different types of music, I went to England last year for a month to see concerts of as much bands as I can, and I DJ in a local pub. So believe me I know music, even the music I don't really listen too, and I probably know more than you about it. So sorry for being annoying, but you really got on my nerve with that stupid comment that has nothing to do with our discussion. Now can we end it with this?
Now I was NOT being arrogant or else I'd be cursing you off like you just did to me, which I don't like since I'm a devoted Christian, but I let it slide. I really think you took it the wrong way. I was not attacking your knowledge, just leaving you with a thought, because one can leave themselves open to a flat conclusion. If you enjoy it that's you, but the only track I enjoy on the album is Cedars of Lebanon from a musician's standpoint like mine. That song is far more varied than the rest.
Again you are putting words into my mouth! I didn't say you almost have little music knowledge! I'm said that in anyones' case! I know people who listen to that screamo music and they will say a song is really good "because he screams so loud and much in that song", when they probably have never heard any good old classic song, or great U2 song from the 80's! Again, I'm not arguing about taste, that is the last thing one can argue about. I only argue overall musical quality, depth, and passion.
Then you totally misread what I wrote. I said MOS was a great song, but it was the only "screaming" example I gave. U2 has hardly any "screaming" songs, and I know U2 by heart. I've got almost all of their albums and I also love thei quite songs. Plus, in most of LZ songs Plant screams.
No I did not misread what you wrote. I simply was trying to broaden the generic comment, because screaming can be a very general term in music. Since you did mention that Plant "screams", I'll elaborate: Robert Plant's screams are out of passion and his high-pitched powerful voice. His screams are absolute gold and not out of anger like screams you'll hear in today's metal groups. I know LZ by heart as well, and for this reason Plant is possibly the most passionate singer I know, bar none.
It doesn't matter how compilcated or long the song is (and I'm also kind of a musician, I play guiter) it's matter if it sounds go or not in your ears and if it gets into your heart.
I won't argue with your standards because I can at least tell you're not a rap fan, but to me it goes beyond just sounding good and getting into your heart. If you think about it, a great-sounding song that is long, well it is great in a sense that there is a lot of it to take in despite not every song having to be that long. Zeppelin's Kashmir is a big favourite of mine because it's incredibly deep, well-constructed, and varies a lot. Great sound and heart just comes along with those things.
I never said you did like songs full of screaming, I was just elaborating on what you said about screaming, that is all with that. And again, I've explained from a dedicated musician's standpoint of why early U2 can be found more favourable and how recent U2 is very lukewarm in my view. I just don't throw my opinions out there is all I'm saying, I process facts I know and go from there.
And on the notion of rawness, they are playing to a pre-recorded track with hidden technicians beneath the stage, as someone mentioned earlier. Therefore this isn't very raw at all and in fact the technique may have caused them the mistake in the first place. As I've said, bands like Floyd and Zeppelin really pulled off raw masterpieces without any assistance or technology. There was a time U2 played raw in the 80's... those days have been long gone unfortunately.
Well one would have to ask the band on that one, but as a musician myself I say why not make a song that long? There is no limit on how a long a book or movie should be, so songs are included because it leaves the option to improvise and express a story as much as desired. The average person won't bother with a song if it exceeds 5 minutes, but for people who understand truly passionate music, we listen to those lengthly compositions because they GRADUALLY TAKE US WHERE NO ONE ELSE'S MUSIC CAN.
I think this is not U2's mistake, it is particularly Bono's mistake. The band was doing well the song until Bono started asking for repetition. If he missed the melody, he should have kept himself in silence instead of exposing the whole band. The Edge deserves Bono's apologies.
The song goes wrong before this clip starts and it is actually The Edges fault. He starts playing the bridge ("Love is a temple, love the higher law"...) when they're still on the verse. I first thought that I had forgotten how the song went but the 120.000 people around me sang what I was singing, including Bono. Then I realised that Edge wasn't on the same page as the rest of us.
It added to the experience that they made a mistake, it's understandable on the first night. :)
ah now steady on:) even the GREATS make mistakes - sorry but you want perfection BUT there is no such thing - there is GREATNESS but no perfection:) remember THIS is the FIRST gig on a STADIUM tour - there are bound to be errors - (trial & error) thats why the best U2 gigs are the later ones coz they have exposed the problems & improved on them - I can attest to this coz I have been to many U2 gigs - the only way to experience a LIVE band is to see them LIVE;)LOL
absolutely right! after 4 or 5 yrs of no tour you want perfection?
it will get better, besides a bad u2 show is better than no u2 show. i love them and cant wait to see the in vegas, where it WILL be perfection. ROCK ON BOYS!!
Yes there is such a thing as perfection... See Pink Floyd's 20+ minute "Echoes" from 1972 at Pompeii, or anything from Led Zeppelin's near 4-hour concert at Earl's Court in 1975. U2 can't reach those guys' level of perfection, and in fact they are stuggling to even recapture their greatness.
alguien sabe que paso aki??' mi ingles no es mu bueno.. y con la emocion( y mis lagrimas en los ojos) no me entere muy bien de lo que mi amigo bono decia
in ways it shows just how good they are, that they can just pick back up again like this, great stuff, also shows that they are really in control and its not all backing tracks,
The thing is that Bono's ear mike didn't work for a while, so he could not hear the music (as usual in these gigs there are 90,000 "souls" singing and screaming all the time instead of listening to the music.
Then, he tried to sing and follow the music but he couldn't. That's the reason he stopped the band, and restart from the verse.
Still, I think he could go on without stopping the song!!!
Not saying they're bad for making a mistake. It was actually a good recovery..I imagine it's pretty tough playing with a backing track...and its the first night.
thx for the vid. was able to listen to the song live on phone... made me laugh the f***ed up a song they've been playing live for years. Doesn't bother me at all that they make mistakes- makes everything only more interesting.
It's funny that Bono isn't afraid to take control like that. It's such a good song that as they continue playing after the mishap, you just forget it even happened.
i`m going to see them in mexico city at may 2011, i can wait to hear them!!!
but i hope they dont make mistakes like these. Anyway they're the best band

A bunch of stuck up snobs and assholes, just look at their stage, Freud would probably have a simple explanation. Fucking liars...

U2 could learn a thing or two by checking out a PHISH show.
bfrick 2 years ago
They could learn even a lot more from a Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin concert as well... they would do 3+ hour concerts sometimes, raw! No one but just them.

Fun to see that the greatest band in the world is in fact just a band like every other band and have to start over songs sometime :-D
BlueberrySwede 2 years ago
See the real Gods of rock like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. They'd perform some half-hour songs on tour and they'd do so spot on, and if they made something along the lines of a mistake, they were so good that they could fix them instantly, in mid-song. Those are the real greatest.
TWern9 2 years ago
Oh come on, not every song needs to be 20 minutes long, you know? And it's ok to do a mistake, especially at the first night of your new tour after 5 years you haven't toured!
shopgirl157 2 years ago
You completely misunderstood. By "some songs", I meant one or two per show. But PER SHOW, which means they'd perform those couple of long songs very often. And actually you have to give kudos to bands that do songs of that length with the stamina factor. And actually U2 toured into 2006, so it's more like 3 years. And also, in rehearsing the band payed most attention on their new tracks, not their good old ones. Mistakes aside, they lack the passion they used to have with the older tracks.
TWern9 2 years ago
First thing, I agree that it's a bit sad that that they don't give the same attention they used to, to older songs, but it makes sense that they'll give more attention to new songs! Peopel get sick playing the same thing over and over again for years, but they still do it
shopgirl157 2 years ago
Oops! I accidentally send it before I finished. Anyway, they still do them and they do them well, because they know people want to hear them. Many band, not just U2. Springsteen for one, didn't agree to play songs like Born To Be Wild in his Glastonbury show...
Of course they'd be more excited about the new songsm even if I prefer to hear a great One.
shopgirl157 2 years ago
Second, I see you don't like U2 and you like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppeling which I also like, so leave the U2 vidoes and go write on the PP and LZ videos.
shopgirl157 2 years ago
Let me clear some things up for you. I actually do enjoy U2. They were great in the 80's and into the 90's. But today they have "Americanized" their sound, which is a true shame because it was their good old selves a while back that made them good. Their new album is probably their worst because U2 is now going with the flow. They are going with the instinct of being 'catchy', and not passionate. Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin were always passionate and never sold themselves into the flow.
TWern9 2 years ago
good comment - thats exactly what the problem is - big shame really -
russell7771181 2 years ago
Well thank you russell7771181 for being one of the only few ones I've discussed this with who actually understands this simple concept. It's not hard really, they were good in the 80's, not as good as Floyd and Zeppelin are but they were good in the 80's... now it's like they are a completely new band out of the USA.
TWern9 2 years ago
"new band out of the USA" comment makes utterly no sense as there is a wide variety of bands in the USA with no one sound.
So they sound like a new band out of the USA? As opposed to sounding like an Irish band? Because last I checked they don't really tote around the Urillean pipes or flutes/penny whistles on stage or on their albums like The Dubliners, The Pogues (a truly great freaking Irish band as well) or The Chieftans..
BrandiU2 2 years ago
I would beg to differ on this, because many bands have their own sound, except it is REDUNDANT. I'm pointing out Nickleback, Green Day, and recent U2 when talking "Get On Your Boots" and etc. Basically all bands out of the US these days go by the same song structure and that is just repetitive; lacks depth. They don't write anything deep. U2's "Irish Days" brought some great songs like With Or Without You, Streets, Bad. You are stereotyping Irishmen, taking yet another discussion off track.
TWern9 2 years ago
Maybe you need to refresh you memory, do you recall the THE WALL tour? They could only play in NYC and LA in the States to break even, if that. They had a wall built through the whole show, and once Roger Waters left, David Gilmour became couldn't wait to exploit the Pink Floyd name.
billybill29 2 years ago
I am 17 years old, I was not born until 91'. And also, you completely misinterpreted things too... it's as if so many people are trying to jump on my comments based on their intial thought and not really take in anything and just bash me for being critical towards U2. I was talking about the overall legacy of Floyd and Zeppelin, not the 80's... I would not have mentioned Zeppelin for that matter anyways because they stopped in 80' as it is!
TWern9 2 years ago
Moment of Surrnder, a 7 minute long song of Bono screaming his heart out is a "catchy" tone? Fez-Being Born? White As Snow? I don't think that U2 is going with the flww. U2 IS the flow. They'd a huge influance on many bands that are big today like The Killers and Coldplay.
I agree that this isn't their best album, but I don't think it's their worst. HTDAAB is their worst album.
shopgirl157 2 years ago
If you rate a song based on how much screaming there is, you seriously have little knowledge on music, I'm not accusing you of it, but just pointing it out in case you happen to do so. You did not mention their more commercially successful tracks like Get On Your Boots or Magnicficent, those tracks are catchy and then some. The Killers and Coldplay are nowhere near as good as some of the older bands that influenced U2 ;-) David Gilmour of PINK FLOYD widely influenced Edge's reverberation...
TWern9 2 years ago
Is this the I Love Pink Floyd Forum or what?
BrandiU2 2 years ago
Now you are just trolling the discussion and putting words into my mouth. I was GIVING EXAMPLES, and Floyd sets many great examples with music. I didn't just say I love Pink Floyd so much and they are the best, no no, I was pointing out examples of influence on U2. I also pointed out how U2 is playing to pre-recorded music, which lead to the mistake! It's your choice of what show you'd rather see, but I'm just pointing out Floyd & Zeppelin are a clear level above U2 professionally-speaking.
TWern9 2 years ago
I think that it's great your 17, and dig bands like PINK FLOYD, and ZEPPELIN, YOu should check out a Springsteen show.
billybill29 2 years ago
Springsteen's decent, but he's not up there as some of my favourites, but yes, those are truly musicians that laid a LOT of musical foundation.
TWern9 2 years ago
Ok, now that you've attacked my music knowledge and started being so fucking arrogent, you totally lost me, and I tried to keeping this a civil discussion until now.
I don't rate a song because of a screaming. You totally misunderstoof what I wrote. Yes, I think MOS is one of the best songs on the album, but I just gave it as an example for a song that is not "catchy". Yes, GOYB and Magnificent is pretty "catchy", but not the whole album is like that.
shopgirl157 2 years ago
About my knowledge in music, I don't want to be as arrogent as you but I won't let it slide. I'm a bit older than you (I'm 22) and U2 has been my favorite band for 9 years and I know almost all of their songs, not just the "screamy ones". I've great knowledge in music, I've got a massive CD collection, I know every new band that gets out to the market.
shopgirl157 2 years ago
, I listen to different types of music, I went to England last year for a month to see concerts of as much bands as I can, and I DJ in a local pub. So believe me I know music, even the music I don't really listen too, and I probably know more than you about it. So sorry for being annoying, but you really got on my nerve with that stupid comment that has nothing to do with our discussion. Now can we end it with this?
shopgirl157 2 years ago
Now I was NOT being arrogant or else I'd be cursing you off like you just did to me, which I don't like since I'm a devoted Christian, but I let it slide. I really think you took it the wrong way. I was not attacking your knowledge, just leaving you with a thought, because one can leave themselves open to a flat conclusion. If you enjoy it that's you, but the only track I enjoy on the album is Cedars of Lebanon from a musician's standpoint like mine. That song is far more varied than the rest.
TWern9 2 years ago
"you seriously have little knowledge on music, I'm not accusing you of it, but just pointing it out in case you happen to do so."
Yeah, you're not attacking my knowledge, just said I almost had none...
I think that Cedars of Lebanon is a great song, but that MOS and Breathe are better. You can't argue about taste.
shopgirl157 2 years ago
Again you are putting words into my mouth! I didn't say you almost have little music knowledge! I'm said that in anyones' case! I know people who listen to that screamo music and they will say a song is really good "because he screams so loud and much in that song", when they probably have never heard any good old classic song, or great U2 song from the 80's! Again, I'm not arguing about taste, that is the last thing one can argue about. I only argue overall musical quality, depth, and passion.
TWern9 2 years ago
Then you totally misread what I wrote. I said MOS was a great song, but it was the only "screaming" example I gave. U2 has hardly any "screaming" songs, and I know U2 by heart. I've got almost all of their albums and I also love thei quite songs. Plus, in most of LZ songs Plant screams.
shopgirl157 2 years ago
No I did not misread what you wrote. I simply was trying to broaden the generic comment, because screaming can be a very general term in music. Since you did mention that Plant "screams", I'll elaborate: Robert Plant's screams are out of passion and his high-pitched powerful voice. His screams are absolute gold and not out of anger like screams you'll hear in today's metal groups. I know LZ by heart as well, and for this reason Plant is possibly the most passionate singer I know, bar none.
TWern9 2 years ago
It doesn't matter how compilcated or long the song is (and I'm also kind of a musician, I play guiter) it's matter if it sounds go or not in your ears and if it gets into your heart.
shopgirl157 2 years ago
I won't argue with your standards because I can at least tell you're not a rap fan, but to me it goes beyond just sounding good and getting into your heart. If you think about it, a great-sounding song that is long, well it is great in a sense that there is a lot of it to take in despite not every song having to be that long. Zeppelin's Kashmir is a big favourite of mine because it's incredibly deep, well-constructed, and varies a lot. Great sound and heart just comes along with those things.
TWern9 2 years ago
No, I don't listen to rap, and I also don't listem to Metal were people scream all of the time.
I now completely lost what we're arguing about... I never said I like songs full of screaming...
You love U2 of the 80's and 90's, I also love a lot of what they did in the 2000's and that's it.
shopgirl157 2 years ago
I never said you did like songs full of screaming, I was just elaborating on what you said about screaming, that is all with that. And again, I've explained from a dedicated musician's standpoint of why early U2 can be found more favourable and how recent U2 is very lukewarm in my view. I just don't throw my opinions out there is all I'm saying, I process facts I know and go from there.
TWern9 2 years ago
exactly ! it just shows that when they play live its raw :)
lewecca 2 years ago
And on the notion of rawness, they are playing to a pre-recorded track with hidden technicians beneath the stage, as someone mentioned earlier. Therefore this isn't very raw at all and in fact the technique may have caused them the mistake in the first place. As I've said, bands like Floyd and Zeppelin really pulled off raw masterpieces without any assistance or technology. There was a time U2 played raw in the 80's... those days have been long gone unfortunately.
TWern9 2 years ago
why would a song even need to be that long?
lewecca 2 years ago
Well one would have to ask the band on that one, but as a musician myself I say why not make a song that long? There is no limit on how a long a book or movie should be, so songs are included because it leaves the option to improvise and express a story as much as desired. The average person won't bother with a song if it exceeds 5 minutes, but for people who understand truly passionate music, we listen to those lengthly compositions because they GRADUALLY TAKE US WHERE NO ONE ELSE'S MUSIC CAN.
TWern9 2 years ago
The opposite of what a goood rock n' roll should be!
w531 2 years ago
I think this is not U2's mistake, it is particularly Bono's mistake. The band was doing well the song until Bono started asking for repetition. If he missed the melody, he should have kept himself in silence instead of exposing the whole band. The Edge deserves Bono's apologies.
simonprieto2009 2 years ago
The song goes wrong before this clip starts and it is actually The Edges fault. He starts playing the bridge ("Love is a temple, love the higher law"...) when they're still on the verse. I first thought that I had forgotten how the song went but the 120.000 people around me sang what I was singing, including Bono. Then I realised that Edge wasn't on the same page as the rest of us.
It added to the experience that they made a mistake, it's understandable on the first night. :)

ah now steady on:) even the GREATS make mistakes - sorry but you want perfection BUT there is no such thing - there is GREATNESS but no perfection:) remember THIS is the FIRST gig on a STADIUM tour - there are bound to be errors - (trial & error) thats why the best U2 gigs are the later ones coz they have exposed the problems & improved on them - I can attest to this coz I have been to many U2 gigs - the only way to experience a LIVE band is to see them LIVE;)LOL

u2jcamilfan 2 years ago
Yes there is such a thing as perfection... See Pink Floyd's 20+ minute "Echoes" from 1972 at Pompeii, or anything from Led Zeppelin's near 4-hour concert at Earl's Court in 1975. U2 can't reach those guys' level of perfection, and in fact they are stuggling to even recapture their greatness.
