  • I have done this to a lot of people but when i try to have it done it pulls away from the edge of my nails and it looks horrible i have no idea why it wont work

  • It looks really great, loved this red! Although it reminds me, I'm from Brazil and I can't get used to the way Americans and Europeans paint their nails, leaving part of it showing near the cuticle, it looks a bit weird for me. Here manicures remove the cuticle, paint all the nail without worrying too much about getting it on your skin around it, then using a stick with cotton and nail polish remover they clean the edges.

  • I took my shellac off at home with acetone, cotton wool and foil. It wasn't hard at all. I did watch a tutorial on youtube first, which helped.

  • Tried it twice - wouldn't do it again. The paint does last for two weeks, it's true, it won't chip at the end, it stays perfectly intact for a long time. It's a very stong cover, so it works on fragile, thin nails as well. However, you can't just remove it when you get bored of the colour or when your nails have grown a little. To get rid of it is a pain and your nails will most likely end up in a much worse state than before.

  • He paints too slow

  • this guy is PRO! but dont you have to cut off the cuticle after pushing it up?

  • ohmygosh you are so pretty here <3

  • Love it I have one on so funny I had it done yesterday the same color for christmas....now I am watching wow it is so good I work in hospitality. Working hard washing my hand every 10 second..it is stayyy

  • I hated it. They were such a pain to get off. All of the benefits were outweighed by the horrible removal process.

  • @StephanySays Same here. The polish was perfect and lasted a long time indeed but getting rid of it was a pain, I wouldn't do it again.

  • would it look bad if your nails grow out quickly? My nails grow out very quickly and I'm afraid that after two weeks, you can see the bare nails growing in.

  • @PrayLoveLaughEatLive If your nails grow quickly, you can get the Shellac removed before the two week mark. Two weeks isn't how long you HAVE to wait, it's how long you CAN wait before reapplication. It wears like a gel/acrylic and will "grow out".

  • aww he's so cute :) I have a shellac mani every 2 weeks- now I have a nude-pink :)

  • it looks like she hit his shoulder hard at 0:04 LOL

  • I had my nails done at a local nail bar, I thought it was Shellac as I saw one of the products which was CND. They were using a mishmash of products . They did wear fine anyway but it was when they took them off that the problem occured. They buffed my nails roughly then soaked with the foil and cotton wool technique and then buffed some more, left half the gel on my nails and bunged clear polish on. Getting proper shellac done tomorrow. Check your salon is using correct products people.

  • hahaaah you could have said ''that's great'' (7:12) any more sarcasticly!!! lol

  • whats on your lips here? i love it!!!

  • I had this done and my nails were mildly buffed and the polish/shellac came off the next day. no chips. LIES! hahha. I didnt really do anything I dont normally do either and I wasn't hard on them either. OH well. :(

  • @uskitin sorry to hear about your awful experience but that does NOT sound right, I hope you went back and complained. They should refund you or do it again properly. Good luck x

  • Oh my goodness, he's so sweet!

  • Lisa what eyeshadow are you wearing in this video?

  • what shade is this please?

  • Great bid!

  • just discovered your videos and almost didn't click because in one of the tutorials, the before looks like a mug shot! so glad i watched because you are gorgeous, and i think i prefer you with almost no make-up.

Also - can you do a blog post on how you take care of your nails? you mentioned in the shellac one they peel, so can you discuss what products you use? Your nails look very strong and healthy in all the videos.

    thanks Lisa!

  • I get tired of the same nail colour in a week so this is definitely not for me, but probably useful when going on a trip or weddings! :)

  • Love my shellac! I made the mistake of getting it done before moving house, so I had to get it redone today and I like the color I had before better, but still looooove the shellac. I'm used to changing my color all the time though, that's going to be the only annoying thing is dealing with one color for a while.

  • You're so stunning !

  • Although the Shelac is three free, which is great, is the polish remover three free? x

  • where did you get your ring from???? it's absolutely gorgeous

  • what know one mentions or maybe doesn't realize is that he uv light isn't any good for the hands. yes i have had them done and its true they do look great. but they do file the shine off to get the acetone to adhere to the gel to get off. pure acetone thats not good either. but i guess we cant have it all. the process to get it off is a process. i dont think i will do it again. dont need the hands to get uv damage.

  • ok so i got a shellac manicure and it lasted a while and looked reeeally great, but i got so sick of the color!! it was really pretty of course, but i just like to paint my nails a different color every couple of days so i was feeling kinda bored

  • There is a small error ahhahah at 6:00 he is ment to put the top coat but the close up shoes the actual Shellac application :P

  • She's prouncing shellac wrong

  • Lisa is this something anyone can buy or a salon has the corner on this market?

  • This looks amazing! Do you know if you can have this done for holiday or will pool water damage them at all? x

  • This only works on a hard, strong, long nail beds. However, if people have paper thin nails, short beds, the kind that peels off all the time, and they want them to be longer and decent shapes then this product wont work on them!

  • WOW I LOVE IT.........:))))))))))))

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE shellac! I can't wait 'til the new colors come out. Generally, my shellac nails last for about a month. . .

  • this is what i want my hair to looks like! x

  • ohh lisa what foundation shade are you wearing i'm currently using maybeline 24hr superstay in sand its a touch darker then my skin and bit too orange and hate the way it looks

  • Awesome!

  • What shade is that? They have lots of reds

  • you have a beautiful side profile!

  • Lisa I like your hair straight like in this video! please style like this more often!

  • Hi Lisa, I've looked at this video a couple of times trying to figure out the color of the lipstick you have on...but I can't :-/ Do you remember the color? I must have it! And it looks amazing on you. Thanks.

  • @kimbers324 agreed. her lipstick looks gorgeous!

  • @kimbers324 i just had a A-HA moment. She is wearing estee lauder's rose dusk from their blue dahlia collection:)

  • тож хочу

  • Lisa, you never said anything about how long the nails actually lasted and how you liked it in general. or maybe you did and I just never heard it.

  • @IrinaRamova I posted the result on my blog three weeks after filming (I think I do say that in the film). If you go to my website and enter shellac nails in the search at the bottom of the home page you should see the pictures etc x

  • i got my shellac done in the same colour i think but i got the 40's style bare half moons, ive had them on for 3 weeks but they have grown out quite a bit so im going to take them off,so sad! i work in a cafe where my nails usually get wrecked and i use cleaning chemicals there too and my nails still look fab! id recommend them! (id get them all the time if i had the money!)

  • he's so sweet!!!!!!

  • Hi Lisa!I've passed by you channel just for chance, and I want to say you that it's amazing...you are amazing!!!Thanks for your videos, I think I'll watch all of them!

  • omg how cool! i want to get this for my nails... what's the cost..?

  • great video! you are amazing! :))

  • ii got my nails done today with Shellac and so far so good :) just wish there was more colours to choose from :)

  • @UglyBananaPopTart I think there are lots of new colours soon. You could also try 'Artistic' nails...they are new and use the same system as Shellac but have a ton of shades x

  • Dear Lisa,

Did he buff or file the entire surface of the nail? I had a shellac manicure done last year and she buffed and filed the entire nail surface, which I didn't like and have not had it done again. I am wondering now after watching your video if she applied it wrong?

  • @airpanz there was no buffing or filing of the nail surface which is why I liked it. My nails are quite weak and dont react well to anything like that. x

  • @lisaeldridgedotcom

Hi Lisa I am currently trying to decide which gel/polish product to buy and have noticed that they they all require the nail to be filed slightly for dehydration. Did your Shellac last the 2 weeks without the nails being dehydrated? Thanks x

  • Your hair is great in this vid. It suits you well that straight =)

  • Lisa, I went to your site to see the photo after 2 weeks and it was too difficult to find. How do I find it exactly?

  • @heyjenknee that was a while ago now you would have to search back to June '10. They lasted really well though x

  • Comment removed

  • How much, on average would it cost to get it done?

  • @AnimalLuver996 London is more expensive than the rest of the country and it seems to differ from salon to salon everywhere. Contact your local salon x

  • I have never heard of shellac nails before! I was considering getting into acrylic nails, but was so scared of the commitment you have to make to them... but NOW... I can't WAIT to get this done!! :D

  • this is cool BUT GELISH work better and lasts much longer. at least 3 weeks to a month easily. My customer came back a month and still nothing wrong, besides the cutiles grow.

  • 12 colours and 60 by 2011... No 12 colours and 2011 just coming up with 12 more... Love the idea but seems to me Gelish offers lots more colour choice..., can we have a review on Gelish please as I love your videos x

  • that's so pretty!!

but idk if i would do it myself because i change my nail color almost every day

  • I did a copy and paste for any of the non-believers out there about proper filing of natural nails : ) Here it is:Use a fingernail file that is not coarse. Like sandpaper for furniture, there are different grits of nail files for different purposes. With natural nails, you want a fine grit file. Gently move the file along the edge of the nail, moving in one direction left to center, right to center, only to prevent splitting and cracking.

  • why is that "PRO" sawing your nails. You are not supposed to saw a natural nail. That causes splitting. you are supposed to go left to the center and right to the center not back and forth. : ) F.Y.I. sawing causes splitting of the nail

  • @decorator1 really? i didnt know that, in new york no one files that way, and my nails dont split..so i dont really care for now lol, but where did you find that out?

  • @MakeupLover4ever517 Hey i'm a professional Nail Technician that's how I know : ) Yeah sawing causes that.

  • @decorator1 Yes that's what I wondered :O I'm very much amateur but that shocked me lol!

  • He is so cute! is he single? :p

  • Shellac is AMAZING!

At first I was like "hmm that's impossible! how can they not chip or break for 2 weeks!!"

but had them done almost 2 weeks ago and... still there.. all 10 of them =D

    Thank you Shellac!!

  • So, I just heard about this in Toronto yesterda while doing my nails. Canada seems to get thngs soooooo late. I'm going to try this next week. I'm so excited! 2 to 3 weeks of non-chipping natural looking nails. I hate acrylic nails. Natural nails are so much more mature and lovely looking. Can't wait!!!

  • I do nails for a living. This product is great; I do it at the salon I work at. Though, I don't wear it myself because I get sick of a color so fast. :)

  • Hey Lisa, What was it that he did on the last step. What did he rub your nails with after the top coat? Just a dry swab or did it have something on it?

    sueheath@comcast.net

  • @Xeadan its possibly alcohol. that's what I use on clients to remove the excess stickiness. :)

  • Hey Lisa, What was it that he did on the last step. What did he rub your nails with after the top coat? Just a dry swab or did it have something on it?

    sueheath@comcast.net

  • Thanks for this video. We are a newer salon and spa just starting out and about to start using the Shellac. This was very informative. Can't wait for the new colors to come out, too!

  • WoOoW

    thanks for the video

  • That is amazing!

  • Hi Lisa, I have very brittle nails and wash my hands constantly at work. I have been looking into getting gel nails as an alternative to acrylics (because we cant wear them at work and they ruin your natural nail). I have looked into both shellac and axxium gels. Most people say they are the same thing but I have noticed that the application is different. Do you have an opinion on axxium vs shallac? I may just try both. Thanks for reading this.

  • I had to skip the part where you're getting your nails shaped because just the sound of it gets me goosebumps. lol. loving the results!!

  • Like **

  • Usually Luke on gelling nails they use rubbing alcohol

  • Hi, this looks great. Could you let me know what he used to remove the sticky layer? Was it nail varnish remover? Thanks

  • Hi Lisa... your nails look FAB!!!!! I can't wait to get "Shellac'ed" :) Apart from your nails... the eye makeup you have on this video looks divine, could you let me know what products you used? Thanks a million!

  • you seem like a very nice person =)

  • My nails break all the time. But I have had my shellac for 21 days and no chips. It really strengthen the nails like nothing else.

  • Shellac comes from an Insect. The Insect basically shits it out. Now she has insect crap on her nails.

  • @caboosukin It's also used as a food glaze. Have fun eating insecnt crap you loser!

By the way the nails are beautiful!

  • I realy love that, so...I live in Brazil and I want to know how can I get this...please help me,sand to me, just say what I have do...PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I´m a nail stylist here in my country...

    Thanks!

  • did you hear of konad befor if you did then where can i buy it at a store in texas no websbsite just store name if you can!!!

  • did you hear of konad befor if you did then where can i buy it at a store in texas no websbsite just store name if you can!!!

  • Out of interest, was the cheap dig at Bio Sculpture scripted in on purpose? It certainly sounded that way when you said it. We all know (and other viewers have pointed out) that it requires no filing down of the natural nail...

  • how did they get on and was it hard to take them off?

  • Hi Lisa i love your lipstick, what is it? xx

  • Lovely nails! Really love your lip color. Do you happen to remember what brand and color you are wearing on your lips?

  • i'm a pet nurse so when i draw blood, i often need to use alcohol and it does get on my nails: usually isopropyl/rubbing alcohol ruins polish. please test this out and send me a message.

  • Oh he's adorable! And the nails looked great too!

  • Hi Lisa

Just wanted to add that Bio Sculpture doesn't require the nail to be filed any more than Shellac does... I offer both in my salon in Surrey.

Shellac is perfect for people with good natural nails or over the top of enhancements.

Bio Sculpture has a service for every nail type.

Both are amazing nail services - and neither requires any filing of the natural nail plate.

    I love your videos!

  • Another thing...while I was getting them done, after the white tips cured, they came out looking like they had bubbles on them. They slightly panicked, and said it would go away once the top coat was cured and polished. Well, it worked for all except one, where I could still tell where the bubbles had been. The technician that did my mani I could tell wasn't the best, but I didn't have the guts to ask for someone else. Any thoughts one why they got bubbles on them?Too thick a coating perhaps?2/2

  • Hey Lisa! I tried Shellac nails here in Houston, TX. I was a bit disappointed in my french mani but I truly think it was the technician's fault. Don't think she sealed the tips all that well, 'cause they started chipping slightly a few days later. It's been 9 days today, some nails look perfect, and some the white tips have micro chips, and just a little while ago I ran my hand through my hair and the whole white part of one nail just peeled off! lol 1/2

  • Ooooooh! So fantastic! I would've been so disappointed if you got the "natural" color. The red is just gorgeous. A perfect wear-with-everything shade. Who needs any others? ;-)

  • Lisa your nails look fabulous. Thank you so much for doing this. Love & Respect Samantha Sweet

    UK CND Authorized Distributor

  • This looks fab! Loved seeing how excited you were lol

  • I hear this is only for beauticians to buy. . (If thats not the same.) My grandma has a beauty license, so I was going to have her buy some Shellac, depending on the price. Does anyone know how much the price normally is? I know there was that a little machine and then you buy the nail polish. How much is this all around? Im so sick and tired of my nail polish chipping. And Im tired of trying to grow my nails but only have 4 on one hand grow and the rest breaking.

  • OH MY GOD im going to get that done... its a treat i need to pay myself and my poor poor nails for the longest time ever loll

  • Lisa, I noticed you are not wearing your shellac nails in your newest video. did they not last?

  • HI Lisa, I had my nails done like this.......they lasted three weeks... I couldn't beleive it..they looked fantastic, the only reason I took it off was because my nails had grown and i had a gap by the cuticle, and as I has a deep deep colour it was really noticable.

Great for a holiday...and for toes too.

    Take Care

  • Your nails look amazing. Really want to find somewhere that does these manicure. If i have a manicure the polish never last more than 48 hours, and 24hours if i do it myself which is really annoying. Can i ask when you do your nails yourself (if you do) what base coat and top coats can you recommend? xx

  • lisa - this is great news! love the colour too. thank you x.

  • @fondantfancie

  • I have a real urge to paint my nails red now! x

  • Hi Lisa, Thanks for bringing Shellac to our attention! I googled Shellac in London and by chance the first Salon that came up is right on my door step (which I didn't even know existed!)

I am think I will get Shellac done just before Glastonbury and then I can have chip free nails all festival! Who says you can't look glam at a festival? x

  • @Boiteduchocolat perfect for a festival...you will have the best looking nails there! x

  • OMG really 2 weeks? I have to try it.

  • Hey Lisa. I was watching TV today here in Norway and suddenly you popped up on the screen! It was a makeover duel show and you did the makeup! I watched it with my little 14 year old brother, and I said; OOh I know her! And he said: Do you? When you see her can you say hi from me and tell her she's hot?!

    HEHE :) cheers from Norway

  • @InaKro ha thats hilarious! Say hi to him from me : ) x

  • @InaKro Lol that's so cute. She is indeed hot, and so polite!

  • Is it available in the us?

  • I WANT SOME!

  • Wow, the nails look great. BTW are you engaged?:)

  • Wow, thank you so much for showing us this! What an amazing system! I've learned so much for you - thank you so much for sharing so much of your wonderful knowledge!

  • I need to find a salon immediately. This is the answer to my polish woes. I always muck my polish up within minutes of application so this is brilliant!

  • I just read about this the other day. Thank you so much for spotlighting this!! Can't wait to see your nails in 2 weeks....We can always rely on you to bring us the latest from the beauty world. xo

  • your lipcolour is very pretty

  • I want to try this....but I wish nail salons would get away from the UV lights! It should dry with the old fan method, right?

  • Great system! I'd probably get a French Manicure as my own only seem to last a couple of days, as for colour I'm not sure if I could live with the same one for two weeks! Nails Inc do a three week manicure, and you can paint and remove new nail varnish over the top!

  • Ah, that is remarkable! I suppose you cold probably do a french tip shellac? I hope? I live in a small rural town, hopefully the salons here will get with the program, haha.

  • Wow! Such a gorgeous colour. Can't wait til it's available up here (although if it lasts two weeks it might just be worth a trip to London...) x

  • I want this, I want this, I want THIS!!!!

  • Wow wee! I want to have a shellac manicure. Looks so shiny.

  • Hi! Amazing! where can I buy that in London?

    Thanks! xx

  • I'm a nail tech in the US and have been doing Shellac manicures for a few weeks now. It really is as wonderful as it looks!

  • I'll be DEFINITELY checking that out as soon as possible. The thought of no more chips and not having to have your nails filed out sounds great!

  • Looks great Lisa!

  • oh always looking forward to your new videos, very nice, can we remove with normal nailpolish remover?

  • History in the making!

  • lisa i wash my hands alot (OCD) and i've had fake nails before and water has gotten under the fake nail and my real nail and it caused fungus so i took them off and only wear polish for 5 days and take it off; could something like that happen with these?

  • @cbudzyn it totally should not

  • Hi Lisa! I love your videos! I'd love if you could make a video about how you came into being a makeup artist, what you're first makeup job was, etc. I find it really fascinating and you're very talented as well!

  • how do you get your hands to look so soft and youthful looking? Do you use a special hand cream?

  • You are beautiful!!!

  • wow.. amazing!!

  • Your nails are beautiful! May I ask what lipstick and/or lipgloss you're wearing here?

  • UM woah... I need that done. I get my gel nails done every 2 and a half weeks! Those look much better. Thanks for sharing Lisa. I've never heard of that before.

  • freaking amazing! Thank you for sharing this, love!

  • this is revolutionary, although i dont know if i could cope with the same colour for 2 weeks! cant wait for the other colours to be released.

  • Hi Lisa, great video! I look forward to your review. David said that acetone would take them straight off so wouldn't that be easier than going back to the salon or buying a professional remover? thanks

  • Good choice of colour! I want Shellac nails!

  • I love your reaction to the product. I also love it each time you say "uber". I'm excited to see your results :)

  • Oh my !!! they look gorgeous !!! 2 weeks wow !!!

  • Love it! especially because it's 3free but is that UV light that they use on the hands? it it safe? You look so gorgeous! love the hair and the lipstick (what is it?) thanks :)

  • amazing!

i haven't heard of this one yet

i would to be able to try this but i don't think it's already available in my country though..

can't wait for your blog post!

    ^_^

  • Lisa your hands and nails are absolutely gorgeous! You could be a hand model. Very lucky lady! Can't wait to see how the polish looks in two weeks.

  • Thank you Lisa! Can you paint over it with regular nail polish? I think I woul get pretty bored wearing the same colour for two weeks straight. Also, after watching the video I'm still not sure about the removal process: do you have to do it at the salon/ use special remover? What effect would regular acetone based polish remover have on this manicure? Thank you :) xo
