How to Get Your PS3 Controller on Windows (x86 + x64) (Revisited)

@Yoshitorisae Not a problem, it's a little confusing that I have a few videos on this topic. The program some times does notice the controller right away. What you want to do (assuming you followed all of the steps in this video) is go to the Driver management tab and you will see one device on this page with a checkmark box, click the box (so it is checked off) and then click load, this will reload the drivers and refresh the program to ensure that it is recognized.

@wiltshire12345 If I leave it unchecked and click load, it tells me to select a device. If I check the box and hit load it gives me this error message: ERROR: Install Motioninjoy driver fail.. error code:02X

If I click Install all it says "ERROR:One or more files referenced by 'C:\Program Files (x86)\MotioninJoy\ds3\drivers\­MijXinput.inf' cannot be found in the package."



I use win7 32bit and definitely downloaded the right files and installed them properly.

Great tutorial thank you for posting this. However the program doesn't seem to detect my ps3 controller. It says "waiting for controllers to be connected" When I go to the driver management there is a little checkmark box and if I tick it on and click load driver it shows me a bunch of success messages and at the end it says "ERROR: InstallMotioninjoy driver fail....error code: 0X2" what am I doing wrong? Any ideas? thanks in advance!

@HelloKwak Sadly no, if you want to use the controller you must have Test Mode enabled. I have a newer tutorial that shows another way to use the PS3 controller without the use of the signature overrider.

@TheEpicwind In order to get games without controller capability, you are going to need to use a program called Xpadder to map the mouse and keyboard to your controller.

@JonAA0880 You have a problem with your .NET Framework. I suggest downloading the .NET Framework clean tool. It will patch up the problems.

@AlexanderBiF I have a tutorial showing you how to connect your ps3 controller without having to use the driver signature overrider. To get motioninjoy to recognize your controller, you need to disconnect your controller, close motioninjoy/ds3 tool. Plug your controller back in open the DS3 tool and go to driver management and click load drivers now it should then recognize your controller

it worked for me except that after i restarted my computer i noticed that it made a new folder on my C: drive called Program Files (x86) and all the things i used to have in Program Files (x64) got moved into it and the only thing in the 64 folder is MotioninJoy. Wondering if anyone knows why this happens. My computer is 64bit

This worked for me, but I have a question about the "test mode" text in the bottom right of my desktop....... Why is it there and how do I get rid of it? Is it like an enable disable thing. Like Some button I push so I can use the controller and that appears, and I press same button it dissappears and can't use controller? Anyways I just wanna be able to get rid of it.
