  • still not as good as the last Kuro Model Made. also it will be a long time before any LED/LCD TV gets close to Plasma black levels, color & motion. also i think its funny how no 1 has compared the Panasonic TH-65VX300 Professional Cinema Premiere Plasma TV to the Kuro & other 2011 HDTV's its supposed to be the best TV ever right now but no 1 knows of it because it's not available to the consumer market. you have to special order one from Panasonic. meant for the serious home theater enthusiast.

  • I just had to toss my 1 yr sharp aquas cause the inverter board died, fuck sharp

  • Value Electronics voted best picture. CNET said it had blacker blacks than the 2008 pioneer elite....but I still hate sharp.

  • I have a 60" Pioneer Elite Pro141FD, there;s still nothing on the market that compares to it...just a bunch of wanna be claims by Sharp

  • I own a KRP-500M, the best of the Pioneer Kuro fleet, and a Samsung UN55B8500, one of the best fully backlit local dimming LEDs ever made. The plasma cannot match the brightness of the LED, but it's color saturation and ability to flesh out details in DARK scenes blows the LED out of the water! Its difficult to fathom that the Elite PRO with its inherent tech shortcomings, will beat the plasma!

  • Panasonic now has the best rated black level Plasmas, still not as good as KURO's. The sharp Elite is a great Television, don't get me wrong. But it will never be a PLASMA. Viewing angles on a plasma are limitless like CRT's. LCD's are more like enhanced projections TV's, u will have viewing ghost effect on side viewing. The Sharp Elite claims to do it the best but still not better than a PLASMA.

  • Any LED/LCD based panel today cannot compare to PLASMA's. The technology are so different. LCD makers are trying so hard to achieve that of what Pioneer achieved 3 yrs. ago with their KURO technology. Pioneer was way ahead of it's time making those TV's this is why they opt out of making them anymore, they were losing money on them because they were very expensive. Retailer marketed LCD's more because they thought PLASMA's weren't reliable.

  • I own Both this TV the 60" That I bought at bestbuy for $5499 I also own the last made pioneer elite pro 151 50". I also had trouble believing it first but the new elite is better then my old one. BUT the side viewing is TERRIBLE. Plasma is still king in that area.

  • @probe26 u couldn't have had the 151 cause not only is it better than the blooming and not accurate color of the elite . It 's also 60 inch not 50 unless thats a typo. I have a 151 and I saw this tv hoping to replace my elite and its not in the same ball park. Its the best looking lcd i've seen yet for whatever that mean but not better or really that close . IMHO>

  • @RON69METS You my friend have no idea what your talking about. try doing some homework next time b4 blurting out nonsense.

  • @probe26 Like i said first you describe the alleged kuro u have as the wrong size but like i said maybe u typo the wrong size. As far as research I saw it with my own eyes and second of all look at all the reviews they said the same thing including the 2011 Hdtv shoot out and Cnet . So get real and don't respond back with insults just for the sake of responding. If u think this tv is better than your Kuro ( prob. the only owner? of a kuro who thinks this way then go ahead. But u r clueless

  • @RON69METS nuff said . i respect your opinion but you are way off base. You also may think Sharp by using the so called yellow pixel makes their tv better too. Better for banding and thats about it. Once again just my opinion but I don't need to be insulted by no one . thank u

  • @RON69METS

I'm trying not to be rude, honestly do a little homework on the (50" Elite pro 151) THEN we can talk. google is your friend, your only making yourself look silly.

  • How can it be the best TV in the world if its an LCD, its simply not possible for an LCD to beat a Plasma on contrast.

  • @TwentyEightySeven You've never seen a Local Dimming LED...?

Besides a Pioneer Kuro, a proper Local Dimming LED wipes the floor with any Plasma.

  • @johnny4freedom Not true at all, Plasma's have natural local dimming which reacts much faster than artificial LED dimming leading to smoother light / dark transitions, plus LED dimming crushes blacks way more and produces halo effects around very bright objects.

Plasma's are still the choice of enthusiasts as the have the best picture quality, thats why they are still produced and why some of the most expensive TV's are still Plasma's.

  • @TwentyEightySeven What is "natural" local dimming? Plasmas don't local dim whatsoever in any shape or form. Local dimming is the act of 'dimming a backlight' in a specific LED zone. I own a Pioneer Kuro and it gets its blacks by lowering the voltage of an idling pixel which all plasmas have. I would not call that local dimming. And the black level on a Kuro is not the norm of plasmas today. In fact most plasmas black levels are at best decent or okay vs a Kuro or local dimming display.

  • @johnny4freedom Natural local dimming on a Plasma does exist but its caused accidentally due to the power draw of lighter areas of the picture. The darker areas will get darker as the lighter areas get brighter because the voltage drops. Its also dynamic because the idling pixels which will get the most power sapped from them are the ones nearest the bright areas.

If you have a Kuro why would you even claim an LED TV can wipe any plasma? No TV can beat your TV on picture quality even in 2011.

  • @TwentyEightySeven And the issues you state are true. But a well implimented Local Dimming Array can fix those problems. A) Say Halos are no longer an issue. 2) Their local dimming tech alongside other techniques make a much more natrual shift to brightness and darkness. Even if there are some anamolies the black levels on Plasmas/LED (Edge-Lit) today are unacceptable. Lightyears behind Pioneer Kuros.. which are 3 year old TVs. These displays are even better at black than the Kuro I own.

  • 5499 for the 60" . 7999 for the 70"

  • WHAT?

  • O.o how mooch XD
