  • The person who can name every single movie title here, would be my hero.

  • @TheRobinBestia

Then I'm your hero. I posted a while back look for it.

  • I'm really exited about this vid. I'm almost crying. It's amazing.

  • One of my favourite youtube videos ever. So inspiring dude-- the choice of sound bites, music, and images coalesce to perfection. This is everything I love about movies.

  • Beautifully done!

  • Drive, 50/50, Submarine, Tucker & Dale, and Young Adult are my favorite movies of 2011.

  • Boy, have you outdone yourself this year! There's not enough space here to point out all the things I love, so I'll just go with my favorite part: the beginning. You start with the film reels and the Hollywood signs, then move to the wide, landscape shots. Next you shift the focus to people, with lots of up-close shots of hands and feet, then medium shots, but you keep the face obscured. Finally, we get the big reveal with the montage of close-ups. Dynamite song choice, by the way.

  • You can always tell when a true storyteller puts their hand to editing something. Well done :)

  • @STI307 Redline

  • Anyone recognize 5:21? I'm always good for an animated movie. And that one looks like it has cars and explosions...falling from the sky. 'Nuff said?

  • This piece is so exquisite. I can only imagine how many hours this took to compile. Everything matches so beautifully! The jump sequence is my favorite. Brilliance! The sound design is so well done. The entire thing moved me and gave me chills. Reminded me why I love storytelling. Thank you so much!

  • This is the best. so much emotion in 6 mins.

  • Matt, please make small line with recent frame movie name somewhere on the screen! It'll be very helpful. Not with youtube captions and subtitles, just in every frame of source video. Im not asking to rework, just add this to your next projects. Also year 2012 will give us ALOT of good and epic movies, maybe you should make more Cinescapes? At least three?

  • @egouniverse Larry Crowne at 1:17 when Tom Hanks says "Why would you think that?" and a soundbyte from Jane Eyre at 3:16 when a voice says "Do you know where the wicked go after death?"

  • @filmlover1988 Larry Crowne - got it. Jane Eyre - so it's the sound that's been used, not image, got it. Thanks, pal! And did you see or hear anything from "The Other Woman"?

  • Did anyone see any scene from "Jane Eyre" or "Larry Crowne"? These films are on the list but I can't seem to match them with any shot there.

  • the editing is just flawless it all transitions so smoothly with one another.

  • Amazing!

  • MAJOR Props for putting Redline in there.

  • Excellent. You give us editors a good name man.

  • excelente mezcla!!!

  • Beautiful as always Matt :) I especially love the use of audio clips and how it turned all techno at the end. That was a clever touch. Keep making these amazing films!

  • Who is the actress at 3:15? The one who says "she asked for it"? I cannot put my finger on who she is.

  • You put a hell of a lot of work into this and I'm very impressed. The producers for the 2011 oscars will likely spend a million dollars on some sort of year-in-review bit, and it won't be as good as this.

  • That. was. amazing... <3

  • God, 4:36 and onwards is just Awesome!!

  • cinescape 2012 will be awesome.

The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, World War Z, Hobbit Part 1, Prometheus and more...

    It will be a history!!

  • oh. my. god. unbelievable awesome.

  • oh. my. god. unbelievable awesome.

  • very nice job !!!

  • It was an absolute TREAT to watch your brilliant compilation. Pitch perfect incorporation of such a wide range of clips, and surprisingly, one could even identify a certain story-like arc in it. I don't know if you would indulge my tiny request, but could you please share, or direct me to a link that has the names of all the movies you used to create this particular clip?

  • LOVE IT! Great editing. Congrats

  • 2010 was really great, it's something you can do, youre good at. But this is what others do. Well, its not bad, but its not you, you was special. This year, youre one of many.

  • Full respect for this guy, made my day alot...cheers

  • amazing vid! funny and epic at the same time, the best montage i've seen!

  • @TheGBRMovies second that

  • Whoever has made this video is on his way to heaven! Its more than 'perfect'. I've watched it like 6 times till now. Watching this 'masterpiece' I felt just the same way I felt watching 'The Tree of Life' this year.

  • The alphabetical list helps in a way, but a chronological one would be great. There are quite a few quick shots I still can't figure out what movies they are from.

  • what movie at 2:44?

  • @FJJVKJFJFJFJFJGFUW3H there's an alphabetical list in the description

  • @nIcecreamovie it doesnt help in anyway it just shows the list of all the movies in alphabetical order not in the order they appear in

  • Whats best is you catch the little things, and I believe thats what makes this into one big masterpiece

    great job!

  • awesome cuts & editing!

  • Spectacular! as Always!

But is it possible to have a list of movies in chronological order? PLEEEEEEASE?

  • Fantastic!

  • Your video is not only marvelous, but in its own way, its like a motion picture all by itself. It elevates me.

    Keep 'em coming.

  • Awesome! My only disappointment, how can you have a kissing montage without the Emma Stone rain-soaked hair grabbing Ryan Gosling scene from Crazy Stupid Love?

  • Song credits anyone please? (I'm looking for the 3rd song's name/band)

  • i just can't get over this video.

  • The song that starts at 2:55, is it from a David Lynch movie?

  • Simply spectacular. I loved the clips you used from super 8.

  • Drive for Best Movie!

  • Holy crap, this is amazing.

  • How much time did it take you to make it? I have to say, this was way better than most films I've seen this year.

  • getting better every year WOW

  • what movie is at 2:20

  • @TheMoviephanatic

    Chico & Rita

  • You really outdid yourself this year!

  • Very good piece of work, I love it. The Oscars should hire a guy like you to make the opening of the Academy Awards ceremony.

  • Wonderful. Just Wonderful.

  • I Saw Animated Clips from "Rango", Rio, Cars 2, Kung Fu Panda 2, Puss In Boots, Happy Feet Two, Arthur Christmas, Winnie The Pooh, and Hop but there's another animated feature where two Black people Kissing and an Anime thing where the car is falling what are the Movies title of that two clips clip?

  • What's the movie on 2:04?

    Thanks!

  • @iciarjcarrasco "The Art of Getting by" with Emma Roberts and Freddie Highmore.

  • Absolutely great! But I sure wish there were Youtube 'statistics' available for this video. I love to see where in the world a video is popular.

  • Between this, Filmography, and Cinema, yours is the best. Great work. Am I missing any other major 2011 edits?

  • I must admit I love your vision.

  • better than Kees' video. way more emotional and epic.

  • Awsome! btw whats that movie at 2:11 (b&w) the list is enormous couldnt find it. thanky in advance :)

  • @bazsi looks like the artist

  • @hapyhacr1 Yep thats it! Thanks a lot!

  • @bazsi The Artist

  • Oh my gosh, so this is where Kees got his inspiration. i myself was naturally inspired just from film and commercials alone, but am now inspired even more from both Kees and Matt. now add Daniel L.C. to the list in a short while when i release more of cinema things.

  • I love that it ended with that quote and that the last shot was from Super 8.

  • My gosh!!! this is marvelous, im speechless..

  • AWESOME!
