Her grandma forced her to go to church after Lacey cut all her hair off and her grandma got upset with her and they had a huge fight, and her grandma wanted her to come to church. not that her grandma knew she was planning to end her life and went around telling everyone.
i'm from denmark it's kinda hard to understand some of the things she's saying 0: but why would her grandma scream at her and beggin' her to go to church if she didn't know?!
i heard she cut off her hair aroudn the time she was gonna kill herself cuz she was having a nervous breakdown or something, so thats probly how her grandma thought she had to go to church; but i could be wrong i dunno.

I was made to find this. I really love that she is being real and that she has been able to overcome the trials and tribulations in her life and still in the end of it all give the honor to God. I'm a christian myself and I guest my story is backwards compared to Lacey's but she has just inspired me to re work my life. PLUS IM IN LOVE WITH THE MUSIC EVEN MORE NOW.

I'm so glad Lacey didn't kill herself. Flyleaf is such a great band musically. On top of that, they're one of the few bands that have meaning and aren't (it seems to me) all about getting famous and rich.

There are a multitude of inspirations for an artist, but the second one of those inspirations is mentioned as Religious in nature, suddenly there's this terrible dogmatic fixation attatched to it. NO, I'm no athiest, but I'm not going to a rock show with people screaming "Praise Jesus!" at the top of their lungs either. It just turns me off to a band I might have otherwise enjoyed.

He allows it because he loves you and wants you to turn to Him in hard times... its a test of faith. This might sound weird if you arent a christian.. but its the truth and what we believe. Lacey did exactly what God wanted her to do.. turn to Him and give it all up to Him.

Her testimony is incredible! I recently have been going through some HORRIBLE times... losing a loved one and also losing my fiance'. I dont care what anyone thinks.. their music might sound like everyone else... but the messages in the songs and her testimony are SERIOUSLY helping me out!!

I'm so glad Lacey didn't kill herself. Flyleaf is such a great band musically. On top of that, they're one of the few bands that have meaning and aren't (it seems to me) all about getting famous and rich.
P.S. I'd give everything I own to marry Lacey right now.....the end.

Anyone can scream? Have you ever fronted a band or screamed on stage? It isn't as easy as it looks, trust me... especially these people that do it for 30-60 minutes every single night. You obviously have no respect for what these people actually do.
Having said that, mediocre band here... but absolutely a lights out, hot, unique female vocalist. Watch these boys ride her coatstrings to the top! Hah...

There's a big difference between someone who believes in God and a bible literalist. I am a Christian, but I do not believe in the inerrancy of the bible or that the world was created in seven days. I also do not believe that people who don't believe in God are "bad". So everybody, just calm down, believe what you believe, and be tolerant and kind.

Athiest are not bad people, even though they dont believe that there is a God. i'm a christian to, but i have friends who dont believe in God, but they're very kind people.. In fact, athiest often show more kindness than SOME christian people sadly, because you have some who keep judgeing others, while in the Bible it says that whe should not do that. Why can't a good band just be people of faith who play music ? Why does it always have to become Christian Rock?
There are a multitude of inspirations for an artist, but the second one of those inspirations is mentioned as Religious in nature, suddenly there's this terrible dogmatic fixation attatched to it. NO, I'm no athiest, but I'm not going to a rock show with people screaming "Praise Jesus!" at the top of their lungs either. It just turns me off to a band I might have otherwise enjoyed.

Bikefag16, This scripture (Romans 5:3-4) explains why what you said is right... however, its different than you might think. God doesnt let bad stuff happen to you for no reason.. He allows it because he loves you and wants you to turn to Him in hard times... its a test of faith. This might sound weird if you arent a christian.. but its the truth and what we believe. Lacey did exactly what God wanted her to do.. turn to Him and give it all up to Him.

However, if you can do that (what romans 5:3-4 says).. then you will find a comfort like no other and life will be alot easier for you... bad stuff will still happen.. but you will be able to deal with it better thanks to the grace of God.
