I think it's funny that the author of this video is calling Stacey "talentless" and yet he didn't even have the ears to notice she was the only thing in that recording that was in tune. The tape played so slowly that the accompaniment was more than 60% of the way to being a half step flat. A professional trumpet player would have been screwed in that situation. What are you going to do... stop your dance routine to pull your tuning slide out to the end? It's a bad cassette player - nothing more.

No, she isn't. 1. Star Wars is not going to be in the key of B Major... no chance. It was supposed to be in C, which is where she was. 2. The recording is not exactly in B - it's significantly sharper than B, but way below C. In other words, it's way out of tune for ANY key. 3. At least one instrument in the recording goes below the playable range of the instrument by (about) a half step. In other words, the tape is playing so slow that it makes an instrument play an impossible note.

I did find this video very funny, but I also did think to myself how Stacey Hedger and her kids would feel over this. She wanted to perform at a beauty pageant; she never intended for the whole world to see and critique it. Unlike other celebrities, who are always in the public eye, this was just a girl who wanted to perform.
