Alastair Sim is always a joy to watch. I do wonder why they changed his name from Inspector Goole to Poole? And what happened to the prophetic "blood, death & destruction" speech? It was omitted completely. Still an excellent film, thankyou for posting.
@Muteswan1 It's a shame, but I think the "fire, and blood, and anguish" speech only really has its full dramatic impact if the Inspector leaves immediately afterwards, like in the original play - whereas in this film version, the Birlings get him to stay in the study (in order to create that lovely surreal ending).
