@HtLtAbAw Well it's based on an opera which doesn't have any (certainly not a lot) of speaking in it. That's why there's a lot of recitative between full songs (the parts where they seem to be half singing and half speaking). Les Miserable is exactly the same in mix of song and recitative.

couple things on this performance:

i like the mark and the joanne---but the other actors seem a bit unfamiliar with their roles...i've seen multiple broadway shows with the original cast such as jesse martin and idina menzel, and they did awesome. and the movies actors were superb...but these people need to study up on their roles...especially the person that plays angel....angel is nothing without wilson jermaine heredia

Different versions. The original cast is not always the best. Angel is different, she has more depth to her. This Angel brings a different aspect to h is character. Different is not always bad. I like it.
