  • The Breakfast Diner was...open at night?

  • Man this takes Me back. I think im gonna get a Sega Genesis and streets of rage. Probably wouldn't spend more than 30 Bucks

  • pump up the jam!

  • Very poor quality audio here. I'm talking about the recording, not the actual game.

  • I loved this game on the Genesis. I remember thinking it was so great but the noises the characters made were horrible. It's like they spent all of their time on the music and then just threw a microphone in the bathroom after mexican all you can eat and let the magic happen.

  • @asilver50 What do you expect? It's coming from a videogame system from 1988!

  • this music was way ahead of its time.

  • @Klng5hlt Reminds me of the movie 'Heat'.

  • This game was awesome. we played it so much!

  • I loved this game! it is still one of my favorates! The soundtrack was on point!!!!!

  • Wow! Really inetersting hearing the full music without the "ya!" and "he-yah!.

    Thanks for posting.

  • what.. i've never seen those co-op moves!

  • Love Enigma especially MCMXC a.d.

    Beautiful era.

  • What happened to the Moon Beach? u forgot it.. that's like the best music in the game besides the title

  • Damn, I never played this game but the music is very.... VERY good!!!

  • This game had the most modern music at the time. Felt like the club music you heard on the radio at midnight. (I was too young to club).

  • Now that I hear this, I feel kinda bad that I originally played this on a pirate game called "6-pack".

  • @SuperFlameRing That's not bootleg, it's licensed.

  • @RobotMasterSplash For real?! Huh. That's a relief.

  • This theme is SO simlar to Principle of Lust by Enigma.. and obviously predates it by a distance.

  • @tomsega Actaully The Enigma (1990) song came out 1 year before SoR (1991). According to Wiki. I agree about the similarities!!

  • Wow memories, I used to place this with my mom when I was wayy younger. We kicked ass. I plan to make future guitar covers to some of these tracks.

  • Is there a compilation cd of all the Sega games of the 90's? I would bid for one!

  • Think you forgot the "elevator" stage. But it doesn't matter. I've already listened to this about 5 times already, and I wanna find that Genesis again, hook it up, and play some freakin' Streets of Rage.

    Thanks for the nostalgia.

  • @IniquityAndMalice Yeah best music in the game is on that level along with the last level.

Love the old school vibe, if you like these tracks you'll like old school house/hardcore from the early 90s of which this stuff was basically based on .SOR 2 soundtrack is superior to the 1st game though for sure(minus the main theme of the 1st one) and SOR 3 is just horrible lol.

  • The second part was the best..cause the difficult is awsome in hardest mode.

that man barbon, wayne and voulture is that bad boy in kickboxer 4 The agressor. jajajaja

  • thumbs up if you have already pressed the A button and called the police accidentally

  • BOOYAH!

  • The 1st song reminds me of "Enigma - Sadeness" or any equal sounding new age type music.

  • bellissimo

  • classic!

  • THE ILLEST GAME MUSIC EVER MADE SON!

  • @DJBobzilla480 Word!!!!

  • Was fantastic....Genesis the best console i ever had! P

PS3? no way man.....Genesis/Mega Drive forever im my memory!

PS3 sux! xbox 360 sux! WII sux!

    FOREVER SEGA!

  • The mega cd both produceded some of the grooviest tunes if you find the games for ex. Mr.bones oopps..,Real music btw) Sonic-Cd - EPIC! its so good it should be sold in musicstores, Jaguarxj220, Wonderdog to name a few. BUT it also started the "real music"-era and that spoiled alot imo...omg i cant stop, the last one popup in my head is Rayman 2-d BOTH music and game wise. (9.22-9.29)^^

    /A

  • yes adrian;) Eswat,Flink,Shinobi eeetttccc. And mrtitanic, lol at your comment to the "scientist" , actually wasnt they kinda equal but in diffrent ways even though snes had more coulors onscreen and md faster and "true" 16bits-cpu etc etc... :) but much of it was wich "side" you were on, hehe it was war. anyway i had the megadrive and ofcourse we played this acegame..but what i miss most is that they dont make as Grrrrovy music anymore:( .

  • Ace of Base o.o?

  • haha i never was a genisiss boy

  • @CMOODO too bad

  • @Chepito2846

I play this game on PS3, i got it free for playstation plus ;)

    classic stuff

  • @jedispy Sports games were WAY better on Genesis. So was Mortal Kombat

  • @mmabuff101 Very true about sports games. As for Kombat it was a toss up. I felt the SNES has better control reaction, but sega had the blood

  • @jedispy You and your fricking science comments. When on earth did they prove that the Snes was better than the genesis? NEVER. I hate when you always say the Genesis was inferior to the Snes. even though this comment wasn't said directly to me, I am still offended.

  • so sick soundtrack, this game and the sonic series I played thousand and thousand of hours when I was a kid

  • Streets Of Rage 1 is the best! The music is the best! I think in 2 and 3, the sprites just look kinda goofy. But not this one :D I love Streets of Rage!!

  • The 90s were a great, unforgettable era, with best games, and best game musics. I'll definitely miss the time when there weren't a lot of computers and you had this great console with these great games. Ah, good times. :)

  • Xbox dlc worthy

  • Dude... this game was awesome. One of the first games I have played in my life... and one of the best, definitely.

Until today I remenber its soundtrack. Unforgettable.

  • This game had urban decay, but when I played it, it just had great music and fighting. hehe

  • Pump up the jam pump it while your feet are stumpn.....lol

  • 4:00 Judge Wapner

  • hmmm what difficulty?

    normal? nah too easy

lets play it on MEGADUR! lol

  • epic game altought the other 2 imrpoved on thise except music wise sor 2 and 1 and fighting for that.

  • JODER TIO este juego tiene unos tracks increibles tronco ,, ademas XD juro por lo que mas querais que he oido algun que otro tack por la tele en alguna serie , xD si el stage de la playa es muy utilizada ,, plagio? XD investigare si me sobra tiempo

  • King of 16-bit games.

  • This is my childhood right here

  • 8 bit bitchin! give the composer props its not easy writing good tracks with such limits!

  • 16bit

  • 16 dooooood!

but i agree, the best composers were in the 8-16-32 bit era no doubt...

perfect example of "when less is more"

  • Fully agreed. There were fantastic composers for NES, SNES, Genesis, Saturn and Playstation. But that ended bad when we went into 128 bit era.

  • omg, real bad nostalgia attack right now

  • Never played the Streets of Rage series, but I will one day. Awesome music.

  • My God you are missing out. Set it as your highest priority in life. All of them.. especially 2.

  • lol. They do look like a fun bunch of beat 'em ups. I'll start checkin' eBay prices.

  • u can get an emulator or sonic's sega collection. The collection has all 3

  • OH HELLLZ YEA!!! i had forgotton all about this game.. i think its funner than final fight honestly.. I used to Love to play this one!

  • brazil play this!

    hahahah

    very trash!

  • haha, this is some 90's ass music

  • I remember actually enjoying listening to this music as i was playing this game, not many games had that.

  • i like the song at 7.50

  • Yuzo Koshiro 'nough said

  • Damn!! I remember getting pissed off at my older brother for dying all the time on co-op lol!!!! We used to get around the tv and play SOR, Shinobi 3, Earthworm Jim and every one of those bastards on Genesis. I still have my first generation Genesis, just need a power cord. Good shit, no doubt.

  • Epic soundtrack. A lot of early Gensis soundtracks sounded tinny and fake, but this sound track sounded great, was totally in-tune with the music of the time too.

  • BLAZE, TE AMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Blaze was my fave!! She has an addicting speed and body-toss...I came in handy when tossing enemies off the elevator!!

  • this is classic! so many fond memories!!!

  • Legendary - no more to say.

  • Yuzo Koshiro is a godly composer.

  • I like the boat stage music.

  • At 4:31 was the best music.

  • u kno what.

ive been doin some research on the advancement in audio in console gaming,

and its truly sad, that about the best thing we've acheived, is maybe some 3D sounds, and a sense of depth.

Given that this was the first ever console to have a FM (frequency modulation) synth chip,

its hard to beleive that in my personaly opinion theres not really that many oringinal bgm that competes. definately rated as 1+2 havin the best oringinal bgm music in the gaming world in my opinion....

  • We had great entertainment until mid 90's. MTV was GREAT until then. Music was excellent. Lots of bands recording great albums. LOTS of memorable and innovative videogames and memorable tv programs. Nowadays, what do we HAVE? Its not just a silly nostalgy, its a rational fact. We live in a VERY POOR TIME!!!!

  • agreed

  • : ] The 16-bit generation was sooo much cooler than this sky rocket science we have today!. This was simple, unadulterated entertainment to the most emotinally attaching level. People born after the PS1 generation will never understand what it was like to pick up a copy from this game for the very first time and play with your kiddy friends at weekends. Everytime my school time was finished, on fridays, I was at my game's store to rent a new game - boy, how incredibly happy all this process was.

  • There will always be hope. I'm gonna turn 14 in a couple days, and I hate the new games so much that all I play is games spanning from the NES to the N64.

Keepin' it alive, a little bit at a time. =)

  • This is a great thing to read. : ] Too bad I had to grow up. There was nothing like being a kid in the 80's and early 90's. NOTHING. This industry was full with passion, everything was new, I had friends coming over my house on a daily basis just to play these masterpieces (this internet curse was far and away a distant reality... it only serves now as a way of segregation, of putting people away from each other). Those were the golden days of gaming. R.I.P. videogame industry.

  • ..... :(

  • @cadaverr True that brotha!

  • : )

  • I'm tellin ya. My best friend and I played this alllll the time when we were like 7. He was born in 89, me 90, in the Genesis and SNES era. Genesis was the best system just for things like Streets of Rage. Gaming is just like Hollywood now, no vision, cept for a select few people who know how to make games with passion.

  • This music is so 90s. It will always be etched in my memory. Long live 90s video game music.

  • @Renegen1 lol, long live 90's video games...period.

  • This and the second Streets of rage have some of the best game music ever.

  • They have just realised this for the ps3 the saga mega drive collection has streets of rage 1,2,3 and sonic 1,2,3, and golden axe 1,2,3 i grew up on this game i love streets of rage just complited 1,2, this mornin

  • if u really are a gamer..then must get it

  • Best game ever ahh memories

please we need NEW street of rage SEGA !!!

  • Eh, considering SEGAs record with Sonic games I say only, be careful what you wish for

  • Best. Soundtrack. Ever.

  • a lot o houers playing this game when i was a kid with friends.. no chat, no msn, no internet, no computers, no cd rom, no mp3, no LCD.. just the genesis wiht a 2 big pad, the TV 21" some friends and Street Of Rage

  • That's how ya do it bro, that's true class.

  • @adrian025 those days..ahhh fuck..!!! im having a breakdown

  • @adrian025 90's were awesome. Much better time then now, however i couldn't give up my laptop!

  • @adrian025 Yes, I know what you mean I so damn miss those days, time passed way too fast... We had so much fun back then with friends, but then came pc, internet and many other new things, genesis was lost and I only found this game yesterday, I was so happy to remember old days and listen to this perfect music of 90's...

  • even though I have a PS3, I still play on my Megadrive. ;]

I love all the old games. <3

  • I don't think the old ones can be beaten

  • Totally agree

  • awesome soundtrack. prob my favourite out of all the games ive ever owned. the only beef i have with this video is that they left out the music from stage 7, on the big elevator.

  • Another classic gaming soundtrack. Went well with one of my favourite Mega Drive memories.

  • Good times, good times

  • Bad ass game ! Playing it on my nintendo Wii great classic game.

  • i absolutely love the opening music. i have that as my alarm on my phone!! also love the music from level 8

  • i like the song when they are going up the elevator to the bosses lair

  • I wanna see Streets Of Rage 4 on the PS3. bring it back!

  • i remember playing this game so much i had to stop playing because my eyes became so bloodshot,i was playing this game A LOT! Grim, but good memories!

  • Ohh... the memories!

  • how i miss this game

  • uYa !! aaahr !! hey !!

    Lórr !

  • Man,I love this game lol! S2

  • i have great memories with this game me and my brother just playing it all day on mega-drive just wish it ould be releashed on xbox live arcade cos the 1st one is the best

  • yea i know everyone says the second streets of rage is better but the first one is the best and it has better music

  • not sure why Sega didnt bring this back out...

  • Don't worry. Sega have announced the Ultimate Mega Drive/Genesis Collection for PS3 and 360. It'll have Streets 1-3 on the disc, and its set for a Feb '09 release. Man, I can't wait to play Streets of Rage all over again.

  • nice.

  • Man that it gonna be serious, lets hope all the great classics are on there like,Sonics,Streets of Rage's,Ecco Dolphin,Pit Fighter,Wardner,Altered Beast,Alex Kidd,Wonder Boy In Monster Land,Wrestle War,Toki,Art Alive,Street Fighter's,Mortal Kombat's,Ghostbusters,Onslaught,Zombies,Splatter House,Road Rash's,Tojam & Earl's,World Cup Italia 90,Two Crude Dudes,Dessert Strike's, Super Wrestlemania,Alladin,Quackshot,Dick Tracy,Micro Machines,Ballz,Another World, Games I grew up on, plus loads I missed

  • ok 3:57 best song, brings me memories, also the intro one, what a great job, THANK YOU YUZO!

  • man.. theese were the carefree days

  • so true

  • Yuzo Koshiro. That's all I have to say about this game's music. :P

  • No wonder the streets are full of rage, cops are going around shooting rocket launchers into crowds of people! I have a little more love for this series than Final Fight. I'd be nice if they made a sequel with 4-player co-op. That would definently bring back those great arcade days to many of us.

  • i remember this game and the music I fucking love this game, too bad my peice of crap genesis dosn't work anymore, what a shame.

  • if you have an xbox, you can dl this game...

  • okok you're right, but ps3 is better. :P

  • i know. that's why i still have my genesis in the event that i need to fulfill my SofR fix lol

  • This one and Streets of Rage 2 had by far the best video game music ever. All of the new platforms out there need to go back to their roots and make more music like this.

  • I still have my sega and super nintendo from when I was a kid.

  • I still have my sega also and I still got my nintendo. Both still works to. LOL

  • My super nintendo always worked. But the seag was missing 2 controllers and the cord that goes into the back of the tv. So I went to a pawn shop and found them along with Mortal Kombat 1 and streets 2.

  • The music to this game was great. This game was more fun to listen to than play.

  • The intro music alone conjures up memories...

    D-O-P-E!

  • I love it how the knives look like candlesticks and the bottles look like rolling pins

  • This was probably the most difficult one out of all the series, because of the game engine. There's just something about the earlier games that is so challenging, but they don't make games like that anymore.

The sound was pretty radical though.

  • wud be cool to download these games onto xbox or ps3.

  • XBLA has Streets of Rage II my friend! =)

  • The games music totally owned. And trippin the bridge is still one of the best pieces ever!

  • omg I was 9 yrs old!

    It's so freaking epic....

Aw man thx for uploading this

  • Yeah

  • Cheers for the memories

  • best memorys ever :P i used to play this game with my dad all the time when i was younger

  • O YES, O THE MEMORIES, played this game with my now ex-wife!!!

  • Memories..

  • i remember when this came out, how good the sound was. i don't really think any console used samples before this game, not in this way anyway

  • i seriously don't understand why sega isn't making another one..

  • aww man it's not on here

  • Love the music when you fight the bosses, the bass owns if you have quality speakers

  • i know the bass in part 1 and 2 is really low and pushinf trough, master series.

  • SOR1 has the best music and bosses of all the games. I like the first two levels a lot cause they're so realistic. Plus the bosses (the boomberang and claw guy) look more like punks compared to SOR2 and 3 first bosses.

  • Game graphics age, but game music doesn't... Level 8's theme is one of my favorite, although Level 1 and the boss theme are awesome too ! Streets of Rage 2 has some equally great music (Shiva's theme : insane !!!!), and when I was thinking SoR 3's music wasn't as good, I then learned that Yuzo Koshiro wasn't the composer anymore... Thanks for posting this !!!

  • emceescher and dirtyeno, I agree with you both. remember the freddy kruger-esque guys who went nuts when you tried to jump kick them? every level had great music. favorite may have to be Mr. X's theme and the bridge.

  • Great game but i remember the sfx in this were terrible!! Sega was definitely inferior to nintendo in terms of sound quality.

  • As much as I was more of a Sega guy than a Nintendo buff back then (during the 16-bit era), gotta agree with you : both sound AND graphic quality were superior in the Super Nintendo... but in my opinion, Sega games had that magic that SNES games lacked :-)

  • man, remember you couldn't lift the fat bosses or they would fall on you? this game required strategy for real...remember the ultimate warrior looking boss? characters were classic! Great game...

  • thats the intro song...or the ending song i foget

  • its both, lol

  • I loved this game! Thank you

  • The song called?

  • el mejor juego de sega, sus musicas siguen siendo las mejores

  • This game has my vote for:

"best music ever" for a SEGA video game.

  • COOL. but can you tell me who i can listening the originals music please ^^.

  • this is my favorite game for sega, me and my brother would play it for hours. Keep them coming!
