@Excessummako FFX-2 isn't part of the main Final Fantasy lineage. It's like, the weird second cousin. I see FFV more comparable to FFIII becaue of the 4 crystals and the interchangeable job system, just a little more complicated.

@MoriyaMug I don't like how all the FF characters ''original desing'' make them blonde-haired, I mean, it's not like all the people in the world were blonde, that doesn't make sense. I guess Amano's wife must be blonde or something like that. Did you know that Cloud was actually supposed to have black hair? I mean, com'on. Blonde FF main characters: Warrior of light (ps1, not Dissidia), Onion Knight (but not Luneth), Terra, Cloud, Zidane, Tidus, Van and Lightning was also supposed to be blonde

It's seems to be a really cool game, it has a great soundtrack and i like the character design. I have to play it someday.

@Elaunikum FFVI is very neat.... there is only one single thing I didn't like.... Sabin's Blitz Skill... once it gets to the high attacks like Down-Right, Down-Left,.... .. then it is nearly impossible to make -.- and that makes me sad.

I hate to sound like a typical casual know-nothing gamer, but this game's FMV's are ugly, I hate that everyone looks the same except the old guy, especially the girls, they have those ugly skinny wet-looking bangs,and I thought Bartz had Brown hair, and I thought he DIDN'T look like a female.

However I would like to play it, after I finish XII and IX....and II and IV.....have to play those two.

Oh, you'll get no argument out of me. I was never a fan of Amano's art style. But I get why the remakes attempt to stay true to it. It would be jarring and off-putting to long-time fans to suddenly see them in Tetsuya Nomura's style.

@ZetsubouMar I know the history of FF better than most. And you'll find that many consider the whole of FF (and the entire JRPG subgenre) to be for weeaboos. As a former diehard fan, my loyalties lie with neither artist. Amano's style is too abstract for for the utilitarian needs of character design. Personally, I look back on those days and wonder, "What was I thinking?"

At least I was never one of those idiots who creams his jeans at the thought of FF6 or FF7. Both severely overrated games.

@MoriyaMug The Amano's style was more memorable, fit well with the FF series with a drawing style that blends medieval abstractor, it is assumed that this is the enviroment of the story on FF.

The Nomura's style lured the otaku of the series, so the stories of the later games are so corny (ahem FFVII, FFX-2).

Also, FFVII is overrated, and FFVI and FFIV lives in the shadow of the FF of PSX.

@ZetsubouMar You're speaking in purely subjective terms. Amano's just an average artist whose work got attached to a popular game series. It's more than a little hypocritical to have a screen name like "ZetsubouMar" and talk about OTHERS being otaku/weeaboos. Glass houses and all that. Like the game or not, there's no denying that FF7 was revolutionary. It reshaped the entire genre to come. Frankly, you come off as searching for a reason to feel superior to fans of the newer games. Get over it.

The visuals aren't that stunning because the characters are based off of Yoshitaka Amano's artwork which, honestly, does not translate well into 3D designs at all, and Square was more focused on Final Fantasy VII at the time.

I've played it and it wasn't that great. The storytelling was awesome, but the way the job system works, it really sucks, but if your playing through all of them, you gotta play this 1. The whole game was great except for the character job system.
