This is crap. It does not follow the story. The actors are poor and are far removed from the manners of that time and those portrayed in the books. It's a shame. I'd really love somebody make a grand movie based on River God.

I've two of Wilbur Smiths Egypt books, I've yet to read them. Can't wait to get my hands on "The Seventh Scroll" book will be more interesting I suspect.

I disagree. Lostris has the sweet innocence in her. And Taita has got intellectual charm. I am so happy that G-d made them, in present and past.

BTW, the original book is called "River God", by Wilbur Smith. This videos are parts from the "River God" book. "The seventh scroll" is another book and story.

Lostris Father who was Taitas owner was also bi-sexual loved the little boys more than women that’s why he bought Taitas because he was handsome boy; Wilbur Smith describes these characters as white… Taitas described tanus as tall and blond that guy who portrays him looks nothing like the description of the book

in the books Taitas was described as a pretty blond haired boy who was taken from up north and if I recall Taitas was having an affair with a slave a girl was later killed I think? By Taitas owner and Taitas was castrated and his his testicles were removed as well, and made into a necklace and placed around his neck as a reminder of what he did

They had to mix the two book , so people who never read them can understand what is going on....so stop complaining!!!

I read them both and I liked it, but this is great for people who never did read them.

It is no rules about a movie have to be exactly like the book was.

So it is a great movie and let people enjoy it, don't say bad things about it...and you who uploaded this...thank you!!!!

oh man, Im only 5 mins into this and its already reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaallllllyyy­y bad in terms of the books, e.g Taita was a eunuch at 16, and for messing round with Lostris, but with some slave girl, when he was sposed to be the kings sex slave sorta thing. I hate when movies ruin books!
