  • look at this he is a legend watch?v=A_e_8CtReb0&feature=BFa&list=FL-2ERK2ops_UGrTNYYXaOXg&lf=BFp

  • 1 person is Burke

  • When was this game played?

  • @MalteStarkiller 1998 I think /phille22

  • forsberg is in my top 5 players to ever play the game

  • We start on knees and work Up

  • he made forsburgers out of the competition

  • Is it possible to buy a copy of this game?

  • @Svedingo Sure, send me €50 and I'll send you a copy. I promise.

  • @azynkron Sure, send me a copy and I'll send you money. I Promise.

  • This is my favorite Forsberg game of all time! 0-5 to 7-5 and six points! That's called stepping up your game... and that's why no game for the Avs were over before they were over. (Please show the assists too, but thanks, I have been looking for this video!

  • @Daflundaful there already is a video up with all the goals. search for: greatest comeback in avalnche history

  • Crosby dont got Dman or hatch to sit on him entire games.. Forsberg had an awesome physical strenght and could control games. Hes skill with the stick is the best is ever seen. Ive watched all.. I do not have any fav. Im neutral with opinions. All are great players nodoubt, but as i said, think of everything instead of being singleminded.

  • @R3js And Foppas grity was BIIIIg, hits hard his opponents, was prick on the ice but it was all his tactic to irritate his opponents, entertainment player. I think only Gretzky, Lemieux are ahead of Foppa when is a question about prime. Prime Foppa and prime Eric Lindros were excellent to follow, perfect packages. Messier was also perfect package.

  • And you cant compare prizes either, its alot depending on the team aswell. Forsberg had the ability to lift an entire team. He was mastermind on both defense and offense. I dont deny that Crosby is awesome, but he is only good offense. Same with Gretzky and Lemeiux. Thats why Forsberg is legendary. Mastermind. You have to play with all aspects. Not only one. Lidstrom got the same abilities as Forsberg, so fucking allrounded. That is what a player should be like.

  • @R3js I agree you, Forsberg was excellent , definetely Top5-6 forward of all the time. REal big winner type as well.

  • I dont understand why you keep comparing players during different ERAs. Gretzky and Lemeiux played in a ERA when rough play wasnt allowed at all. They could nearly live on their speed and skill and just skate away from every player without being touched. Forsberg played in a ERA called "dead-puck" so many injuries.. And Crosby nowadays with good rules. Imagine Gretzky & Lem at "dead-puck" ERA. maybe wouldnt been same story, or Forsberg at his prime nowadays. You could always think that and that.

  • Peter Forsberg is the reason i got into hockey and fell in love with the NHL. I wasnt lucky to see Gretzky, Lemieux play in their prime but I enjoyed watching every second of Foppa. To me, hes a Hall of Famer and one of the best players to ever play the game and my favorite player of all time.

  • Scoring during those times were greatly reduced. We now have rules governing the size of goaltender's equipment, we stopped the line changes on icing, and "obstruction" penalties have made it easier to get power-plays. All of these things contribute to the play of the game and the abilities of any given player.

I'll leave it with this and respond how you wish:

Any list of the top 10 hockey players of all-time should have BOTH Crosby's and Forsberg's name on it.

  • Comparing Ovechkin to Crosby is easy since they started at the same time and will likely end around the same time. But comparing Forsberg to Crosby is like comparing Gretzky to Richard to Orr to Howe...the list goes on. Since none of the career's occur at the same time it is truly difficult to compare them one-on-one.

Forsberg played during the years of Hasek, Roy, Brodeur (at his peak), Belfour and many other INCREDIBLE goaltenders. He also played during "the trap" and 1-4 offences...

  • Forsberg in his NHL career had amassed 1 MVP, 1 art ross and a calder trophy. 2 stanley cups and a gold medal.

Crosby has amassed 1 MVP, 1 art Ross, 1 Rocket Richard, 1 pearson, 1 stanley Cup and 1 gold medal in which he scored the deciding goal

Crosby is in amidst one of the most dominant NHL seasons seen in a very, very long time, Forsberg has never, and I mean NEVER played anywhere near the level that Sid is playing at right now, 60 points in 36 games is staggering to say the very least

  • @evanderlazer Absolutely, Sid is hot right now. Let's see what the end-of-season stats look like. As for awards, the Rocket Richard is a goal-scoring trophy and I've already conceded that Sid scores more goals. The Pearson or "Ted Lindsay" as it is now called is more of a popularity contest than anything since it's an NHLPA award.

In the end, we are trying to compare two players that while their careers are fairly close together in years, they are occurring at a different time.

  • @MegaBryan1982 If anything, the pearson is voted by NHL coaches, and players alike, you know... the people that actually play against him and coach against him and stuff, thats kind've, sort've important to take into account

I view the pearson as a true measuring gauge of how the NHL minds think of the best. As evidenced by Naslund winning the Pearson over Forsberg in 2003. Rightfully so, Naslund lead the NHL in points, goals etc. and on the 2nd to last day, hejduk and foppa passed him though

  • @evanderlazer

You have to understand though how different the NHL was when Forsberg played in his prime. All the hooking and holding existed back then and there was no new rules to give players more freedom on the ice. I love Crosby, hes a beast but dont discredit Foppa. At the time he was perhaps the best player in the world.

  • @silentghost23 he was the best player in the world "ARGUABLY" during 2002-03 where he beat out Naslund for the art ross trophy in the VERY last game of the season.

Its not a huge suprise that Naslund won the Pearson. The Pearson voted on by his fellow NHLers and coaches alike.

Forsberg at his best is as good as Sakic but thats it. Sakic was consitantly at his best though heading into the playoffs.

No suprise Sakic won the Conn Smythe and an NHL record 8 overtime playoff winning goals.

  • Compare Crosby and Forsberg side-by-side:

    Goals: Crosby - 0.49/game, Forsberg - 0.37/game....Crosby Wins

    Assists: Crosby - 0.87/game, Forsberg - 0.91/game....Forsberg Wins

    +/- : Crosby - +9 per season (avg.), Forsberg - +21 per season (avg.)....Forsberg Landslide

Crosby wins power-play goal average per season, but Forsberg wins short-handed. Game Winners are even and so is Shooting Percentage.

Finally, there's physical play and highlights prove....Forsberg Wins

Overall - Forsberg by a nose.

  • @MegaBryan1982 Forsberg has 885 points in 706 games played for a 102 point pace per season

Crosby has 566 points in 407 games played for a 114 point pace per season

If anything, Forsbergs Physical play was a negative rather than a plus, it weared down his body immensely, he was more prone to injuries thus the question of "if your injured and injured often, then what use are you to yoour team?" as evidenced by his 1 and only MVP in his career

23 yr old Sid > forsberg at his absolute best

  • How about playoff goals and assists? If I remember correctly was Forsbergs percentages better during playoffs than the regular season... When it really mattered he stepped up his game.

  • soldier

  • honestly, people can't come to terms with the fact that "theres no way a 23 year old can be this damn good" when it comes to Crosby.

Crosby is more dominant offensively than Forsberg could ever dream of at any age and time in his career.

Crosby lead the NHL in goals last year and is 2nd in goals this year.

Crosby has more hardware at 22 then forsbergs whole career.

    his playoff production is better.

crosby is just as good a playmaker while being a vastly superior goal scorer, nuf said

  • @evanderlazer But Crosby is a crybaby whiner that wont back check worth a shit. He wouldn't have nearly as much "hardware" if Bettman didn't have a hard on for the guy. Forsberg could hit, dangle and pass like no other and is one of the most innovative players that has ever set foot on an NHL rink.

  • @MrObnoxious103 remember when crosby did that in december of 2005? so uh dumbass, that was over 5 years ago, your a fucking loser for bringing that up, he was just 2 months removed from freaking 17 years old.

steve fucking yzerman said just yesterday, that he was much like sidney when he came into the league, he complained annually but matured around age 25-27 into the universal leader he is known to day and he said crosby is more mature than he or sakic was at his current age so fuck off now

  • @evanderlazer Yea I havent really seen him mature over the years. He is still much the same as he was back then.

  • @MrObnoxious103

Do you even watch hockey, dude?

  • @evanderlazer to say that crosby is a 'better playmaker' than forsberg is a lie, as well as 'having more hardware'.

During almost ANY 6 year span in Forsberg's career, he would beat crosby in assists. yeah crosby might have more points, but he tops out on scoring goals.

and you gotta remember, crosby played in well known leagues before the NHL. Forsberg made his name in the olympics. His skill was so recognised that they put his face on the stamps in sweeden.

  • @riddick388 Hmm Forsberg is not a better playmaker than Sidney Crosby. Sid Crosby's career high in assists is 84 playing with a 40 year old mark recchi as his linemate and andy hilbert. Forsbergs career high in assists and points is 116, and he wasn't even colorado's leading point scorer, sakic had 51 goals, 120 points

Crosby is forced to be the best goal scorer in the NHL because he plays with superstar dupuis and kunitz. 23 year old crosby is already better than Prime Forsberg, DEAL WITH IT

  • I think that Crosby actually is going to be a better offensive player than Forsberg, however, I still think he lacks in the defensive play.

  • This was the greatest individual performance ever in a hockey game. The 2nd period is almost over and the Avs are down 5-0. They win because Forsberg takes complete control of the game. This was a different era of hockey, when scoring was low, and teams like Florida played the trap and were hard to score on.

  • haha after the hat trick, the panthers supporters starts to leave xD

  • Check out 1:08, where do you get one of those jerseys???

  • Coaches plan for this game?

    "err... PETE GET OUT THERE!"

    lol

  • fy satan vad han är stark och as bra

  • foppa leker

  • I agree with that. Forberg was a terror on the ice. No one have named Crosby a terror on the ice... end of story..Forsberg was a freaking beast!

  • @MXSwe Crosby scored 2 goals, 4 assists against in a win against the Islanders this year.

He also had a 1 goal, 5 assists performance 3 years ago.

Crosby scored a hattrick against the rangers and 5 points in all.

Crosby scored a hattrick in a span of 7 mins in the 2nd period down 3-0 against the Buffalo Sabres against Team USA's precious goaltender, Ryan Miller, who he'd later terrorise for the Olympic Gold medal overtime winner

Crosby is already more dominant than Frosberg ever was.

  • @evanderlazer i love crosby, he is an amazing player and probably #1 in the world at the moment but you seriously can't say he is more dominant than forsberg ever was because he isn't. if you think that you probably didn't see forsberg in his prime

  • @snagerii and you are underrating crosby severly here. Your mind cant comprehend that Crosby is a living legend as we speak but you won't realise it until he's retired.

Open up your eyes, Crosby takes over games like this on a dailey basis. Stop being so bias. The stats speak for themselves or did you just gloss over them like anyone can do them.

  • @evanderlazer i'm aware that crosby is already one of the greatest hockeyplayers of all time and it's an absolute pleasure to see him play. but the thing you said that crosby is more dominant than forsberg ever was is not true, did you really watch forsberg in his prime? noone who did can say that crosby is more dominant.

about the stats then. forsbergs last season he had a P/G of 1,56 which is more than crosby has ever had.

  • @snagerii I can tell you suck at arguing.

Because when you take an arbitrary stretch of games like 12 games and try and pass it off as fact that he can somehow pull it off over 82 games.

That shows right away what an ignorant tool you really are.

Forsberg was a pathetic goal scorer, had a glass hip and ankle of an 80 year old gramma and it was primarily his fault he couldn't play a full season of hockey because his body coudn't hold up. He couldn't adapt and change his style of play.

  • @evanderlazer i continue here since i didn't have enough space in my last comment.

you said that crosby right now is more dominant than forsberg ever was and refer to the stats. crosbys last two seasons P/G is 1,34 and forsbergs best seasons besides his last one had a P/G of 1,41. so it's kind of stupid to say that crosby is better than forsberg ever was. besides, you can't always tell how good a player is by just looking at the stats. forsberg was extremely dominant when he played

  • @snagerii Crosby is not even in his prime yet and already equals Forsberg at age 23.

Forsbergs points per game in the regular season was 1.25 and 1.13 in the playoffs

Crosbys points per game is 1.35 in the regular season and 1.34 i the playoffs.

Crosby's production doesn't dip when the playoffs roll around, its stays the same. What you get, is what you see.

Crosby is a way more dominant goal scorer aswell and is more durable.

This is the Panthers, nothing further need be said lol.

  • @snagerii you do realise that Forsberg is one of the porrest goal scorers in NHL history for a so called superstar right? injuries or not this guy only mustered up 2 30 goal seasons in his career, not 31, not 32, but just 30 on the dot and only had 2.

Forsberg is one of the most overrated hockey players of the last 25 years of hockey.

His stats aren't anything special, his intangibles don't make up for th etype of offensive gap guys like Jagr, Crosby, Ovechkin, Lemieux have over him, sorry

  • @evanderlazer haha seriously whats up with you and forsberg? you really seem to hate that guy, or rather hate everyone who doesn't think canada is the biggest and best in all categories. at least i can enjoy watching good hockeyplayers instead of pushing others down and think some players suck just because i want my idol to be #1. cool off a bit please... haha. and forsberg was a playmaker not a pure goalscorer, someone's got to do that part too you know :) its a teamsport.

  • @snagerii You've heard the announcer "this may be his best game ever" followed with the fact that this is the Florida Panthers, on eof the thinnest defenses I've ever witnessed playing on an NHL squad at the time.

And believe me, Crosby has played like this, he plays like this quite a bit, whether it was his 6 point performance against the isles, his 5 point performance against the rangers, his hattrick in 7 minutes, or his 6 point night 3 years ago, he plays like that, I'm done arguing.

  • @evanderlazer

watch /watch?v=m3G1YY55iLU at 1:22, sidney crosby doesnt seem to think that forsberg is overrated however

  • @evanderlazer

You can't compare players with stats man. Forsberg was also a defence player. His impact on the ice can't be matched by Crosby by far. Almost all of Forsbergs goals is highlight reels. Well anyway forsberg sees the game much better and is also a much better hitter. Also he is not a fuckin' diver and crybaby.

  • @TBoneMontana lol shut the fuck up, forsberg is reguarded as the epitome and the ultimate example of the biggest whiner and diver in NHL history.

he essentially brought his pussy/diving antics from europe and brought it over to north america, don't fuck kid yourself, your looking for an argument that goes both ways, and believe me, forsberg is without doubt the biggest, not one of, but THEE biggest diver and whiner in modern NHL history no matter how you slice it, of all the arguments u chose

  • @evanderlazer Remember when Forsberg was complaining to the referee about Crosby's dive, then crosby came over with literal TEARS IN HIS EYES. that right there is all the proof you need that Crosby is worse than Forsberg ever was at diving

  • @TBoneMontana Crosby is the 1# faceoff men in the NHL, toews is a distant 2nd.

Crosby has 1000 more faceoff wins than any other player last year in the NHL.

Crosby has the most shootout winning goals since the lockout with 15 and lead the nhl in shootout wins last season with 10 for 12.

Crosby's ability to force turn overs and dart up the neutral zone is 2nd to no one.

if your trying to use the intangible argument is favor for forsberg then you failed big time again. try again bitch.

  • @evanderlazer "one of the poorest scoerers in NHL history" ?? He is 9th ALL time in points-per-game stats. Others on that list are Gretzky, Lemuix, Orr, Richard, Crosby. Srsly?

  • @justanothergreysky yeah lets see that extrapolated over i don't know. . . . 1400 games, as opposed to 800.

pretty easy to keep A high points per game when you don't have to play those games.

do you seriously think a 35 year old forsberg is gonna score 100 assists in 08-09?

by that same token, if stamkos got injured for the rest of the season, can I assume he'd scorer 82 goals for games he didnt play? I mean afterall he does have 19 goals in 20 games so . . .

  • @snagerii lol this is the Florida Panthers we're talking here, you sure you wanna argue Forsberg dominance over that team?

  • I would have loved to see what Gretzky would have accomplished if he would have been treated like they treat Forsberg.. no one EVER slashed or wrestled with Gretzky

  • @phille22 your a fucking idiot.

Did it ever accur to you that Gretzky was just slippery? literally, there are only 2 hits on Gretzky on the entire website of youtube. 2, thats it

Gretzky was the chess player of Hockey. Meaning he can read what exactly you were going to do, he kew a defender would wack at him, he knew they'd try and hook him, but he had a 6th sense in getting away from defenders.

If you were trying to hint that Foppa?Gretzky? lol don't kid yourself there, just dont.

  • @phille22

Thats a very good point and Forsberg played his prime during whats now known as the "dead-puck era". Imagine if the new rules after the lockout came into effect back in the late 90s, imagine how much more Forsberg could have done.

  • lol wow that goalie needs better low game

  • foppa

  • he is soo strong with the puck. holy shit

  • he is a legend, 6p in this game!!!!

  • You don't see this kind of play anymore in the NHL. Crazy individual effort and really fighting for his team.

  • @Sinco1967 You mean ovie? Crosby isn't half as strong as forsberg.

  • Crosby is way more Comparable to Forsberg than Ovie. Watch Crosby's OT domination and you will see what I mean.

  • haha...crosby is nowhere near forsberg

  • @mrhockeyluke actually yes, he is.

Sidney Patrick Crosby brought the penguins back down 3-0 against buffalo back in february 1st. He scored a hattrick in the span of 7 minutes in the 2nd and the pens went on to win 5-3. Tell methats not taking your team on your back and willing them to a win.

Crosby's career high 120 is higher than Forsbergs 116. Crosby is the 3rd fastest player to 500 nhl points at age 22. Only Wayne (21) and Mario (22) were slightly younger

    Crosby is better than Foppa

  • @mrhockeyluke yup, you got that right, he's no where near Forsberg, he's left him in the dust already at age 23 and the gap is growing at a fast rate.

  • @evanderlazer when crosby can hit like peter, then i will reguard him as a great player. other than that, look at the penguins. you have 2 solid goalies in marc-andre flery and brent johnson...you got dupuis, malkin, kunitz, talbot...on D you got goligoski and letang...and you got letang who is second on the team at 21 assists to crosby's 25...but get this...NOBODY on that team has more than 10 goals other than crosby who has 26...that tells me that hes a puck hog. Come playoff that will hurt..

  • @riddick388 lol crosby a puck hog lmfao listen forsberg is no where I MEAN NO WHERE near crosbys level, this is the dumbest comparison i have ever heard of, crosby is absolutely a million times better at everything except hitting. better at playmaking? gretzky isnt better then crosby at playmaking. forsberg is shit he only put up 116 with that stacked col team. if you are calling crosby a puckhog you obv do not know SHIT about hockey lmfao dont get me starte. look at who you listed on pitts LOL

  • @OneBloodOneGame i agree Crosby is the best player atm and one of the best all time. But to say he's a million times better than forsberg is ridiculous. Crosby is great but as with all players their fanboys suck.

  • @ridd what is forsberg career high in the playoffs? 26 ?LOL that's crosby's second highest total. has forbserg ever put up 13 points in one series or 14 points in one 6 playoff game series? you obviously know nothing about hockey kunitz is a 3rrd liner on most teams, dupuis as well and malkin is garbage (now), geno comes back and they lose two straight what a coincidence. crosby a puck hog? i am guessing gretzky was a puckhog to then. lol dummy, I watch pittsburgh games,so you dont know anything

  • @evanderlazer also...you gotta remember...without Peter Forsberg, there might not be a Sydney Crosby. When forsberg won his first cup in '96 crosby was 9 years old.

and Crosby had to have watched Forsberg sometime when he was growing up.

  • @evanderlazer i agree with you bro, the kid has been in the nhl for almost 5 and a half seasons and hes done way more then forsberg did. i mean way more. just look at his records, crosby also has the 5th or 6th highest ppg average in NHL history and he's just reaching his prime LMFAO

  • Its alright. Everyone needs to see this dominance by Foppa. im all in favor of this.

  • Thanks Phille22 haha

  • sorry mate, haha. We're all thankful for your wonderful video, but me, personally, wanted a shorter clip with only Forsberg goals. sorry

  • OMFG living legend =) nr1
