  • As usual very nice painted

  • THANK YOU! I like this bird and the1/72 Revell "Jug" is superb in quality and price, so I guess I will never stop building them :-) Dont know how many I have at the moment, but I know I will build soon four or five more! You can view more pics and articles in my little site webmodelismo com

    Cheers!

  • I am an F4U-1 Corsair fan but when I saw your "Jug" collection, boy did my jaw drop! Nice details! Sir, you have done justice to this great warbird...may I ask how many Thunderbolts have you made in total?

  • @pearldiver610 THANK YOU! Glad you like them! You can see many more pics and articles about my Jugs in my little site webmodelismo com

    Cheers!

  • Beautiful bolt collection!

  • wow she looks so nices do u air brush ur plans ?

  • I see that your 'BIG ASS' looks diffrent to mine.. I did mine as per AeroMaster' after market decal sheet instructions.. :)

  • The 'BIG ASS BIRD II' video has been posted.. :)

  • haha big ass bird thaths so true! :D

    great collection indeed! thumbs up!

  • Hello.

What nice P-47s!! and Thank you for the video posted, because I am so happy to see these wonderful Thunderbolts on your video with Good BGM.

I love the aircraft P-47 Thunderbolt., so I am having fun with flying my Radio Control P-47. My rc plane has not much reality but I did repaint it sometimes. (The P-47 videos on my chanel...)

Anyway your P-47s all are fantastic! TNX.

    nash from Japan

  • Thanks for your kind words. I am not a good modeller... I do lots of crap but show only the good models;-)

Yes, the 56FG had absolutely great looking Jug's! I was modeling Luftwaffe stuff for many years that's why I found so cool the NMF in P-47's but soon I will go for the 56FG Jug's, oh yes!

  • I love your panel line work. Very nice look for this scale.

  • Thanks, this scale is simply perfect for such a hugh bird! And so many marking options available for the P-47! I will go crazy soon... About the panel line you can see more in my small site webmodelismo

  • BEAUTIFUL T'bolts!! Superb.. I can't make mine that nicely.. You need to get yourself some more BOXTED-based P-47's though.. both D'd & M's like the black, the 2-tone blue and the various patterns of sea grey and dark greens.. :) :)

  • Yes, I love them too. P-47M, 44-21125, of Cl. David Schilling, 56FG, is in the queue now :-)

  • I'm literally drooling.. I have decals for his P-47 D, that he flew from Halesworth.. I have a good photo in a book of it having done a belly landing in a field, I can feel a diorama coming on.. That aside I'm working on the P-47 M of Lanny Lanowski right now, all over black which suits my painting 'technique'.. :) 1/72 scale Revell kit, which I picked up very cheap at a model show in the spring. :) I was at Boxted only the other day, filming some 'extra' footage for my modelling video.. :)

  • Sorry, not 'all over' black, of'course.. it has got natural metal on the lower parts.. and the standard red nose and rudder of the 61st FS.. I will post a video later on from Boxted as it looks today, the new owner has demolished a lot of the buildings that was there still in 2006 when I did a 2 hour walk around the airfield.. he has also only recently ploughed up some of the remaining taxiways.. a great shame, but I guess he wants to grow more potatoes.. :P

  • '...According to a pilot of that time the "black" was a small amount of insignia blue added to black' (American Fighters over Europe, FSM Books). Let us see your P-47 soon. Revell has the finest Jug for the price you pay for it. I can't stop building them! Maybe one day you can publish one of your models in my site. Cheers!

  • I think they were a bit individual.. some were black, some had a bit of a mixed blue or even red! Acording to the eyewitnesses I have spoken to, anyways.. I only live around the corner from the Airfield itself.. :) I'm working on the P-47 right now, but it won't be ready for another week at least, as I will spend most of next week in London, and won't be able to build anything on it! I'll try and get done what I can, but I'm not rushing.. :)

  • I'm not a brilliant modeller, such as yourself, but I like to do as good as I can with my models.. and especially the Boxted Thunderbolts.. :)

(or any P-47 of the 56th Fighter Group.. :)

  • Well, I finished two new Jug's, I will add a video soon. Both belonged to the 56FG: Schilling's P-47M "LM*S" and "Dottie Dee II"... Can someone help me to stop building these planes? They look so great... Cheers, Raul

  • @RaulCork Yes, they are beauties.. I'm working (slowly) on the 'BIG ASS BIRD' at the moment, using the Revell P-47 D kit.. and I will use washes to show up the panel lines, your work inspired me to give it a go.. I had trouble matching the red painted cowl with the red of the decals though, but for me it is ok.. There's no need to stop building Jugs, on the contrary.. the more, the merrier.. :) :)

  • Please make sure to PM me or otherwise let me know when you post the videos.. Thank you! :)
