The NHS doesn't have a monopoly on healthcare in Britain. We have private healthcare providers just the same as America, they compete commercially and you can take out health insurance if you want to. My employer offers health care insurance which I don't take up as I am entitled to free healthcare from the NHS. I am not being extorted I can opt to not use the state provided healthcare at any time. I suggest you come here and learn about our social healthcare rather then guess about it!
"You advocate the use of a violent, coersive extortion racket to solve the problems of society. That's what the State is, a State is a violent institution".
Any sound government has three independent entities, but I'm sure you know this. All parties in government have opposition parties.
These are two factors that leave your argument void. The people have chosen to be lead, and they see that their safety is increased by the use of what you call violence.
Who did this idiot evolve? The NHS is not a "state, ham-handed, arbitrarilty whimed out authoritarian service! It has no monopoly on health care in the UK. You can go to a private doctor or hospital or buy private health insurance. The fact is though that 92% of people choose NOT to use the private sector cos the NHS actually works. And 93% of people rate their health care from the NHS very positively. There are NO restrictions on the supply of medical personnel.
@hauskalainen "There are NO restrictions on the supply of medical personnel." Im sorry but you are completely wrong. And I am in no way going to teach you what economics is, so open a textbook before you comment further.
This weird video claimed that dprjones was "advocating the violent use of an extortion racket to solve problems the state has already created" which includes (so he earlier claims) state restrictions on medical practice. Quite bizzare!!
If a qualified doctor, from Ireland say, wants to come to the UK and set up shop selling her skills, no one is going to stop her. She competes in the market alongside all other private doctors. That was my point.
@hauskalainen I think your main issue is with you not understanding the nature of the state. I didn't at one point either. The state is a monopoly on violence and acquires property and resources in a manor which would be totally wrong for anyone else. There is no difference between taxes and extortion. Now you may argue for the vague "public good" point. But voluntarily funded programs have worked and a person is entitled to ALL the fruits of their labor and how they choose to allocate it.
If when you there come men in white coats. don't be afraid. They are therre to help you.
Alternatively (which I think is more likely), you are a wage slave of the 1% of the population that own 90% of the wealth and act here only to convince the other 99% with the vote that the government is out to get them as well, I think you should be ashamed.
naw man i got my head around everything that u were saying and i mostly agree. But what im sayings is u cant bring the change you looking for right now, and if it did come about during the current time it would be for the worst because there would be no general direction for the american people to go in. Hangs who take over and smart people would did faster then u could say lord of the flys. And it would be constant fighting and death. internet be gone, cell phones, and back to the barter system

I think you will find putting the leader of the conservative party was on that video too. This video is a lot of rambling that has nothing to do with what DPR said.
DPR's video essentially stated this: Fox news used Daniel Hannon as a representative of the UK, this is dishonest because Daniel Hannon is not representative of the typical view in the UK. If you are going to decide what you want to do with your healthcare system, do it based on honest representations. Which point of that do you take issue with?
If you are really trying to get a million views or whatever just post on one of the YouTube celebs or something. It would make about as much sense as posting this and pretending to reply to DPR and calling it DPR hates the poor. (I know it's not called that on this channel's mirror but on the others it is).
Why WOULD DPR respond to this? It addresses NOTHING that he said in the video. And there are plenty of videos of people who make arguments against the state. Posting yet another one of this same arguments on a basically unrelated video seems like, as I said before, sheer retardery,
Are you kidding? All he did was an anti-state rant! I understand all the points against the state, and they are valid arguments, but what the hell is this? What point in DPR's vid is he responding to?
but like i said great points and u r really smart. But like me im a progressive humanist and something of a socialist but it still understand you have to get people in a progression towards real change and it wont happen over night. But im with u 100% like check out my video on ron paul vs steven baldwin on the legalization of marijuana. One of my oldest. But u can uses the system for a better change u just need the large majority of the people behind it. And im using t9 so its not perfect
and your right about the state but we still have the right to vote and unite. But really they r slowly takin it away from up by putting out political stupidity. And i said this on confederalist bitch ass one. If every american got up today and said this goverment will change today it would. But they want to keep up in small groups to control up better. And its working to a large degree but regardless we need to work for a common goal and over throwing at this point in time would hurt not help
and the system now is out to make money and if the public option is in place it will bully alot of health care companies but it needs to be done for the betterment of americans. And i know maybe if we do nothing that might get enough americans pissed off that they stand up and do something about it. But in reality with this political climate is more likely the split between parties would keep people on different ends and nothing would change. U know Most americans r not as smart as u
I hear what your saying but really even tho i think u do have a very valid point. U neglect to realize the truth of the matter. If we leave the health care system as it be it will only get worse and bring about more draw not pain for the average american. And the poor will be hit even worse. And like i said its a good point but you need to understand politics to see what is in reach and what isnt. Unless we take out the whole goverment there is no way we will break away from medicare or medicaid
The main thing I liked about him was his opposition to the DMCA takedown system.
And I agree about the 'youtube atheists' in general on the point you made. All they do is spend their time attacking fundies and creationists, which is entertaining, but pointless, and isn't exactly covering any new ground, or promoting any kind of unity or respect. The average person knows fundies and creationists are daft, so you'd think we wouldnt have people spending their entire lives fighting them...
I know that YOU believe the state shouldn't exist, but it isn't persuasive for anyone else. It just sounds rambly and fanatical. You wanna say state run health care is bad? Fine. Wanna say the state itself is bad? Fine. But don't try to mix the two, they are not even vaguely related. That like arguing if a minor detail of a specific miracle of Jesus and then jumping into how the entire gospel is made up. You cannot persuade people using arguments they don't agree with.
I'm infected with the state virus. I don't think the state is anything new or is going anywhere soon. I agree with a lot of what you say, but I like my fire stations, police (to some degree), and cheap imported crap that the state controls the flow of.
I don't have a private definition of coherent. Look up the meaning the word if you're still curious. When that is done, look up the meaning of the ad hominem fallacy; you're using it incorrectly here.
Lastly, it's just a comment. It is not my intention to go into a protracted argument here. If you want to do that you can email me at theophage [at] geocities [dot] com. Or not.
I wouldn't have bothered re-uploading it. First, you need to learn to express yourself coherently. Then get yourself some kind of coherent position. Then you should work on videos.
