Rosters change and everyone has the same cap room. Honestly its not the timeframe that make the Steelers a better team, its front office, coaching, and drafting. @chrise970 Actually Ravens started in the 1996 season. Steelers, as you said, started in 1933 and had PLENTY of time, several decades more than Ravens, to get 6 super bowl rings. It took Ravens 4 years after their birth to get to their first playoffs and first superbowl and win that same super bowl. Steelers took them over 10 years to get to first playoff appearance and 30 something years to get to first super bowl.

The Ravens are the old Cleve Browns. Modell moved them to Balt in the dead of night. The franchise started in 1946. They won exactly one SB in their FIFTH year as the Ravens, not the fourth.
Because there was no such thing as a SB before SB I following the 1966 season, it took the Steelers nine years to get to their first SB and they won 4 over a 6-year period. While the Ravens won SB XXXV, the Steelers have won two SB's since then.

So yeah, Ravens officially started in 1996, meaning they are a 15 year old team. As I said, the Ravens went to and won their first SB 4 years after their birth, 1996 they were born and 4 years later in 2000 season went to SB. Yes I know SB 1 started in 1967, but there were championships and playoffs beforehand.

They went to two more playoff games 25 years later, one in 1972 and the other in 1973, but didn't make it to SB. In 1974, Steelers finally went to their first final championship game at SB 9 . Ravens, after 4 years from which they started, went to first championship game and won. 7 more playoffs afterwards. 8 playoffs in 15 years!

The '47 game was played to DECIDE the division championship since the teams were tied at the end of the season. It was not a playoff game, it was a game to decide WHO would go to the real playoffs. Philly won that game - 65 years ago.

Yeah, it took 78 years for the Steelers to accomplish that. It's impressive, I admit, but not nearly as impressive as what alot of Steeler fans make it out to be. In baseball, the Yankees have 27 world series wins. There is no other MLB team that comes close to that. But, there are NFL teams that come close to Steelers wins.
