How do you decide between hdfh and hdfx mode (or hdlp or hdhq for that matter)? I have a Sony HDR and have iMovie 08 but might need 09 or might wait for 11' when it comes. My goal is to get videos to YouTube at 1080p. Thanks much.

i bought HDR CX100 in chicago and quality is just awesome as above clip and i bought a same Handycam in Melbourne Australia which is not even closer to my previous cam.. Its unbrlievable that a same model but very poor quality in Australia.

Its good to buy most of electronix from USA the quality in america and canada is awesome . Australians sold shit

i saw this at best buy today and i loed it. they told me that they were deleting this particular model and that tomorrow the new one was coming out. retail price is $499 and istead of 10x zooming it was having 25x zooming. i cant wait to get it!..good video!

Plain old iMovie is a pain in the ass. You need iMovie HD but there's no way to get it unless you know how to download torrents. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm guessing you don't know how to do that.

it does in fact work with the mac. I just got mine two days ago. and it works fine. Just know that the HD video will take up quite a bit of space.

AVCHD is one specific standard under the broad MPEG 4 standard.

Kinda like saying a a cube is a specific type of parallelogram.

If you are recording in AVCHD, then you are recording in MPEG4.

However, you cannot just assume that you are using AVCHD/H.264 codec when using the MPEG 4 container.
