I have been listening to U2 for right at 30 years. I first got hooked with "I Will Follow" and been listening since. The earlier music made a person feel like there was hope if people laid down their predjudices and truly believed that they made a difference. And being a Native American, I do wish that they had a different ending the to video of "One".

Just because Edge doesn't play 12342345 notes a minute doesn't mean he can't play guitar. I'm a guitarist and more of a metal head, but I do like U2. Can't expect a painter to just use black and white. Edge hears a sound in his head and he'll spend hours to hear it with his ears. Great artists.

@TooCoolidge the greatest obstacle a musician has is to translate the music they hear in their head to music that can be heard audibly. a bit unrelated, but when i'm high or doing psychedelics, i get anxious to compose what i'm hearing. sometimes the music sounds like its really playing out loud, but its all in my head.

i'm ranting now, but your comment made me think about how i go through that all the time, spending so much time trying to recreate it.
