A beautiful fully artistic experience--amid all the pared down productions and sorry vocal techniques one encounters nowadays in the houses. Really an operatic oasis! The first note is "velata" like all the medium-high register (high notes inexistent in this piece) and the low register is schiacciato.

Nice environment and staging, but impossible to be true: the sound wouldn't be so clear and neat in an openspace.

Well, in some moments I get this impresion that it's a man's voice, without getting the falsetto image inside my head. Weird. Her voice is weird, actually, very fit for reviving this type of music.

Well, let's imagine this voice plus- voice of a boy child; than the lung power that castratos had. Wow.

I doubt that castratos will come back in opera again though... one can only imagine the incredible angel voice of an opera-quality castrato.

I still don't know what she's saying, but it's starting to do pleasurable things to my mind and body. Her voice is thrilling and soothing at the same time.

I really like and appreciate the efforts taken to bring the operatic out of the stilted arena of the painted stage..... and to allow 'ombra maifu' to breathe. Wonderfully chosen aria to make the point!! May we see more of this!

Kudos to Cecilia B for her willingness to embrace the challenge. Loved the dress!!
