Well if your PS1 or PS2 doesn't have a mod chip, or you're not using the swap magic technique, the game won't work even if you burn it correctly...That's why I like Dreamcast cause it can play burned games without the use of a mod chip or swap magic. The problem is your cd burner it is too fast(a bad thing in this situation...)
So you need a cd burner that can burn at a speed or 4X(or lower)-(anything just make sure the smallest burning speed is 4X or lowest, remember the lower the burning speed the faster the disc runs on the ps1)
Buy a new burner games will probably not even load on 10x speed, way too fast the memory is not getting processed correctly, the faster it burns onto the disc the harder it gets to read the data on the ps1... and if you leave it trying to read a disc that was burned at that type of speed then I believe you burn your laser.
does ps1 reconize mds files just say wen i select copy wizard on alcohol and copy a ps1 game it saves a mds file of that game. so do i use that mds file under image burning wizard

You would need a modified PSX ROM for that. In which, since nobody else but a few selfish nerds have, you would have to program yourself. And you probably can't program that kind of stuff. :S

It could be that u didn't mod it right never ever be that lazy I am not calling you lazy. In general people who find out how to play back-ups always internally mod it... but you there are alternatives... like the disk swap.

you need an original disc because you have to pass the whole system it checks to see if it has the unique seal of sony's Playstation. but if you don't want to perform disc swap there is always the internal mod chip but it might fuck up your system,and I don't know where you can buy one,but I think it would be cheaper just buying a game than doing disc swap because again I don't how much mod chips are or where they sell them.

if it came with white discs it might have been he ripped you off cause there is probably no mod chip. Or it really does have a mod chip try it out put The Legend of Mana game. If it doesn't work than try disc swap.

I fixed the bodged screen thing, it wasn't anything to do with the discs :S It just didn't work on the small tellies, i tried it on the big one in my living room and it worked, i dunno why, but it does :D
My alcohol 120% trial expired (it had that dropdown box. So i downloaded one from isohunt with crack and all. That one doesnt show the dropdown box with playstation in it at all, though my trial alcohol 120% does show it.

that is because you need to either block the ps2 sensors or have a modded ps2 and to play a ps1 back up or burned disk you have to put in a ps1 original disk the second you see the ps1 logo you change the disks note do not turn off or reset console while changing disk any further help message me.

did you alrdy extract it from winrar? cuz winrar compresses it. Did you download it from the site on the description?(Rom hustler)
did you make sure that once you set the iso file on alcohol that it shows all the mb? either that or it could be that some isos miss some very small files to make it small enough to fit in a 800 mb(thats the current highest)cd-r disc.
if none of these are wat you think is the problem then I would say its the last option

well I can't really tell you anything have you tried reinstalling? and have you tried to contact the company who made it? but your safest bet is reinstall. but b4 you reinstall there is an update that was previously made so try updating it then if it still doesn't work reinstall it and update it again
Well is the platform a playstation 2 or playstation 1? this is for a playstation one disc to work on a modded ps1 or ps2 but for ps2 I haven't tried... keep all those discs.... cause u need to look up something its called "psx disc swap" look it up on youtube and then once u find one that teaches u how or just the image of them doing gets in ur head do it but if u just insert the disc the psx will read the disc as a data or media disc the only possible way of actually just inserting and playing would be the mod chip(dont try it will burn ur psx alive) or if u could actually make the disc a ps1 official disc so just look it up and do that
Don't you only need to swap disc like that when your using the PS2? I thought you could just burn the disc and be able to play it on the original PS1? That was what a couple of other tutorials were saying on YouTube...Were they wrong?

answer to question one is that when u burn the disc the ps1/ps2 reads it as a media or data disc with readable and viewable data but it u put an original ps1 game then swap it, it will then read the burnt disc then u will need to bypass the ps1 logo so u put the original disc rly fast then one the logo disappears u put the backup disc back so then when your playing the game all the data that needs to be read is read
answer to quest 2 is u need to learn the swap trick is wat i recommend now allow me to explain when you mod your ps1 (if ur using a ps1) with a mod chip the mod chip steals a lot of energy towards the ps1s motor therefore the fan in the ps1 will burn itself to a crisp trying to run all the systems requirements at once

Or you could get 7zip Select all the parts right click and hit extract and it will extract all the parts at once

Ok good job on the vid. I have used that method and it worked ok except for one thing.
I use 4x speed to burn and actually tried the WC2 game there, as well as other like Street Fighter Alpha 2.
The thing is WC2 takes forever to load, I actually start to fall asleep it takes so long.
Alpha works fine though. Anyone else have this happen or suggestions on how to fix?

I believe DVD-R is a media format and I believe it is Media Read Only Memory... So therefore the files will not be read as data...
CD-ROM is Data Read Only Memory
No DVD-R, DVD-RW, or CD-RW
R stands for ROM, READ ONLY MEMORY(cannot be formatted to burn a new set of info.
RW stands for RE-WRITABLE MEMORY
Can be used constantly, burn over the files that you places previously.

If not then you need a new burner with smaller burning speed.

CD-R once burned the info on it is Read Only Memory (ROM) and therefore cannot be formatted to be re-written, while CD-RW can be Re-Written...

No none of these programs will slow your computer. I believe I said CD-R discs. PSX I believe stands for PS2 and PS1 (look it up on wikipedia.

wow please read.. for the love of god please read... it reads as a media disc so it won't read the files.... you have to do a disc swap look it up on youtube PSX DISC SWAP k? then come back and complain.

Nero is fine but I prefer Alcohol because it is a bit faster and easier.

yea sorry any other sites that have a lot of psx roms it's probably going to get removed from the internet or a lot of the roms are going to get esa protected... you can try torrents...

I have a problem(again). I downloaded and burned Final Fantasy VII and it hangs in the opening video.(I didn't even saw aeris) I have a modchip so I don't need disc swap. Help!

I did everything in this video...I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I put the disc on my modded ps1 but it never reads the CD =P i used .cue files, lowest speed everything =( HELP?

It could be that u didn't mod it right never ever be that lazy I am not calling you lazy. In general people who find out how to play back-ups always internally mod it... but you there are alternatives... like the disk swap.

Um, no its not that because i have a mod chip for my ps1 and other copied games work but it just doesn't read these when i try to play them and im prety sure i'm doing it right. I use a CD-r disk and do all of the steps. I just don't understand what goes wrong.

tnx for the vid... Although there are some problems with the cd I burned... When I play it on my playstation, it ALWAYS stops in the middle of the game. I followed what you said. I also burned it on 4X speed. that's the slowest there is. Can you please help me??? Anyone???

bad rom? um maybe you performed disc swap too fast or slow? um out of ideas here try doing disc swap with patience if that doesn't work than re-download if it still doesn't work it's probly the rom tell me the game please?

you need an original disc because you have to pass the whole system it checks to see if it has the unique seal of sony's Playstation. but if you don't want to perform disc swap there is always the internal mod chip but it might fuck up your system,and I don't know where you can buy one,but I think it would be cheaper just buying a game than doing disc swap because again I don't how much mod chips are or where they sell them.

ok. I downloaded another game. It's "legend of mana". I don't need a disc swap. and when I bought my ps1, there's no original cd with it, only white disked games. does this mean my ps1 has a modchip? even if I tried disc swap and it has same results. It hangs in the middle of the game. is it how I burned it then? the speed when I burned it was 4X. can u please help.

if it came with white discs it might have been he ripped you off cause there is probably no mod chip. Or it really does have a mod chip try it out put The Legend of Mana game. If it doesn't work than try disc swap.

thanks dude.i tried the ccd file and it works, but i have another game that i just downloaded from rom hustler.when i select the ccd file to burn it to alcohol, it only has the size of 585.76mb. i doubting whether i'll burn this or not,one question again dude,hope you reply again, what do you think? when i burn this file will it work or not?in your experience....

ok... it works without disc swap. yup. i think there is a modchip. but it still hangs in the middle of the game.

yup bad mod chip sorry look up a video on how to remove it? or just look up a video on how to put on mod chip and than just figure out where you put it and what it looks like sorry man the owner must've already been playing with backups...

I fixed the bodged screen thing, it wasn't anything to do with the discs :S It just didn't work on the small tellies, i tried it on the big one in my living room and it worked, i dunno why, but it does :D

My alcohol 120% trial expired (it had that dropdown box. So i downloaded one from isohunt with crack and all. That one doesnt show the dropdown box with playstation in it at all, though my trial alcohol 120% does show it.
Got some advice for me:O? that would be pretty awsome

that is because you need to either block the ps2 sensors or have a modded ps2 and to play a ps1 back up or burned disk you have to put in a ps1 original disk the second you see the ps1 logo you change the disks note do not turn off or reset console while changing disk any further help message me.

not being smart here but if its better then alcohol 120% how come I mainly get people saying alcohol 120% more then dvd decrytper besides that I really don't care this video is in an example on what I recommend you can use nero or phantom (very unpopular well cause no one uses)

i wasn't critisizing your work onb this i was recomending to use dvd decrypter as it is fast and easy to use for beginners and as for nero i had it pre installed on my laptop and its good to burn back up copies. when i downloaded alcohol 120% my computer was getting a lot of errors. just like some of your comments so i was just recomending to use dvd decyrpter.

so dude let me get this strait.i need a game that has iso690.99 mb coz this is the real size of a game, so when i download a game that has a size of 575mb,this is not a real size of a game and it cannot be burn and played on a ps console? waiting for your reply.....

did you alrdy extract it from winrar? cuz winrar compresses it. Did you download it from the site on the description?(Rom hustler)
did you make sure that once you set the iso file on alcohol that it shows all the mb? either that or it could be that some isos miss some very small files to make it small enough to fit in a 800 mb(thats the current highest)cd-r disc.
if none of these are wat you think is the problem then I would say its the last option

i think the problem is that the game iso i burn didnt come from romhustler.but i have 1 game i downloaded from romhustler and it has a size of 626.78 MB so what do you think? is this kind of game can be burn and played on a ps console? thanks for the reply.....

what ever alcohol reads meaning .CCDs .ISOs and .CUE it doesn't matter it has to be an ISO file google all types of ISO files

well I can't really tell you anything have you tried reinstalling? and have you tried to contact the company who made it? but your safest bet is reinstall. but b4 you reinstall there is an update that was previously made so try updating it then if it still doesn't work reinstall it and update it again

Well is the platform a playstation 2 or playstation 1? this is for a playstation one disc to work on a modded ps1 or ps2 but for ps2 I haven't tried... But I guess I can still help ok I suppose you did the ps2 disc swap wrong? or you didn't mod your ps2 correctly or probably the iso was corrupt (not virus just damaged) or it could always be a wrong data disc (make sure its a ps1 or ps2 disc format on alcohol 120%) or none of the above you may need help else where please rate and subscribe

yes it is my ms2 is not moded, So this does not work like DreameCast where all i have to do is barn it and play I have to mod my ps2.

Tried this and did exactly as stated but I have done it 8 times now and it doesn't run for me...It'll burn it but when I try to put in the PSX it keeps saying..Please insert Playstation CD-Rom after the white logo screen. What do you think might be worng?

keep all those discs.... cause u need to look up something its called "psx disc swap" look it up on youtube and then once u find one that teaches u how or just the image of them doing gets in ur head do it but if u just insert the disc the psx will read the disc as a data or media disc the only possible way of actually just inserting and playing would be the mod chip(dont try it will burn ur psx alive) or if u could actually make the disc a ps1 official disc so just look it up and do that

Don't you only need to swap disc like that when your using the PS2? I thought you could just burn the disc and be able to play it on the original PS1? That was what a couple of other tutorials were saying on YouTube...Were they wrong?

they are wrong i used to think that too but sony was a bit too smart they knew this couldve happened so they stopped it by a couple of things 1 it reads any other disc as a data or media disc 2 u cant bypass it without an original ps1 game just look for a disc swap video on youtube and you will understand it trust me your like me when ever I can't get something I almost giveup then I get it and if u liked video and it helped u please rate and subscribe :D

answer to question one is that when u burn the disc the ps1/ps2 reads it as a media or data disc with readable and viewable data but it u put an original ps1 game then swap it, it will then read the burnt disc then u will need to bypass the ps1 logo so u put the original disc rly fast then one the logo disappears u put the backup disc back so then when your playing the game all the data that needs to be read is read

answer to quest 2 is u need to learn the swap trick is wat i recommend now allow me to explain when you mod your ps1 (if ur using a ps1) with a mod chip the mod chip steals a lot of energy towards the ps1s motor therefore the fan in the ps1 will burn itself to a crisp trying to run all the systems requirements at once

wat do you mean? link you have a link to wat and if magic iso works for you then it's ok but I preferably choose alcohol 120% for burning this it's just it tells you every small detail and the write speed can get to such a low rate

wat chip? u mean that mod chip? no you do not if u want the chip to burn ur ps1 or ps2 go right ahead but i would recommend playing it on a ps1 and put a piece of paper on the click where the tops supposed to be kinda complicated just go and type on youtube how to mod your ps1 to play psx backups and then follow steps.... so thats all man but don't use a chip they cause ur ps1/ps2 to burn alive the chip i think accelerates the psx performance therefore burning the motor so dont use chip papermod
