I thought that all yj's had a slanted roll cage because my 87 does

Yeah the kind you have (I have also) is called a sports style. The later models have the family style roll bars.

Actually it is the factory roll cage. 92-95 YJ's had that roll bar. 87-91 had the one that slants straight back to the top of the wheel well.

thats a different roll cage thats for a tj not a yj
