Also I forgot to mention if this does work than I suggest you add more RAM. Say... about 512MB for non game stuff. For games I suggest 1GB or more. I'm not much of a hardware person so I can't really help. You can check the amount of RAM you have by running dxdiag

Also another way I forgot to mention is going to start>accessories>system tools>disk defragmenter
