Ok, nonononononoNO! Emo is a style of music that was adapted into a syle of clothing. Cutting Disorder is a mental disease where people cut themselves because of low self esteem or depression. They often go hand in hand, but they're NOT the same thing! I have an emo style and I listen to emo music buy I am a very happy person and I would NEVER cut myself!

you and my family are the probably only people that know that it really means what you said in the comment. we personally know someone that cut themselves but was NOT emo but they changed fortunately! :D now they don't cut themselves

oh, that's good! i'm glad they're better. the reason i get really offended when people say that is bcuz my best friend used to cut himself, and then he killed himself. it was one of the saddest things that ever happened to me, and i get so annoyed when people take it so lightly and call it "emo". people call me emo all the time and they're like "hey marlee let me see your cuts" and i get really upset cuz i actually knew someone who did that, and he wasn't emo at all.

that's really sad :( i was so sad when my friend cut herself on purpose but i'd be depressed for eternity if they killed themself. it's so rude and immature when people believe in stereotypes so much that they'd ask you to see your cuts, im just exteremly quiet and sensitive and people call me "emo" it's really hard for me so it must be harder for you

i know! my cousin dresses in long bright-colored skirts and peasant blouses, and she wears flower headbands and peace necklaces, so people ask her if she's a hippie and they ask to see her drugs. it's horrible. someone told the principal that she did drugs and she almost got suspended. it was horrible bcuz it wasn't true and she's is NOT a hippie! And I'm not even shy and depressed! I'm actually a really perky, happy person. i just wear a lot of black/red/purple and listen to emo music!

Me too! I love that stuff! Yeah, we both are strong Activists and my cousin does dress like a hippie, but she doesn't to drugs at all and I beat up the kid who made up that rumor. People also ask me who my girlfriend is and where's my testosterone cuz everyone thinks I'm lesbian and I'm NOT! Just bcuz I'm not super girly and I hang out with two gay kids and my sister is lesbian doesn't mean I am! And the kid I was telling u about killed himself bcuz people kept...

it's not just me... my school has a LOT of bullying, which is why i like chrissa so much, even tho the problems at my school are WAY more serious than chrissa's problems. yeah, being called goth sucks, but it only makes me want to stay the way i am to prove that i don't care what they say, and i have my two best friends, my bf, my sister, and my cousin and they all know the real me :) and if those people payed any attention, they would see that i DO wear skirts sometimes, and i DO wear pink...

i'm really sorry about the bullying in your school! In mine there's hardly any because we're really young and people don't actually know what a hippie is. and alot of kids think(including me) emo style and music is really cool.

thank you! you're very lucky! the bullying is very bad here, even in elementary school. there are fist fights pretty much every day, people calling african americans the N word, people threatening to kill each other, and other stuff like that. thanks! i think so too! i wish there were more people like me and you :)

you're not allowed to get expelled from my school for some reason.... this one girl keeps breaking the rules, and she's been suspended five times cuz she can't get expelled. the first time she broke the dress code, the second time she cut school, the third time she beat up this girl, the fourth time she got caught smoking in front of the school, and the fifth time she cut school.. again. it's horrible what some kids do.
