  • Love to see how all are doing. Keep up the great work.

  • So now you make videos of fish. Haha. How's it going? Better yet, how are you guys doing? I'm not sure why, but I've started on this youtube thing again. Oh well, probably will quit again someday. Glad to see your account is still active. Cute video.

  • Oh, so you're a "fish" person....haha

  • A stingray person, specifically. More in general you could say that I am a "biology" person, and I really enjoy seeing life, how it develops, and how it reproduces from all kinds of angles.

I also like studying life in the water column, but I have no special fondness for fish specifically.

  • That's a cool tank!

(I have two new goldfish. Sorry- kind of a letdown, I know... hehehe!)

  • I keep goldfish, too. I keep them to feed to my monster fish though, haha.

  • Ouch! ;)

  • Absolutely wonderful. What's the water temperature?

How's Abner doing now? Is his cut healing?

  • The water temp is at 82F right now; his fin damage is healing, although he has given himself quite the bump on his nose from shattering my (supposedly) shatter-proof heater.

  • Did he see the heater as a territorial rival, do you think?

  • That's my guess; he also killed 2 snails, a thermometer, and anything else that tends to be on the sides of the tank at his eye level.

  • Not a community animal. Although I wish I had a snail eater in my tank. The damn things are running wild.

  • Arowanas are really good community animals as long as you put them with things similar to their size; people tend to feed them goldfish, but I keep them with stingrays. They do great in a monster tank, but yeah I wouldn't put them near a prized collection of little fish, and they tend to jump out of tanks. They are known as "monkeyfish" because they can leap somewhere above 8 feet from the surface of the water.

Unique fish, but well worth keeping if you've got the right setup.

  • Cool fish tank :)

  • Thanks!

  • Cool fish. Hope your fish, Abner is okay.

  • He seems to be doing much better; well, except for the fact that he smashed a re-enforced glass heater with his face. He can get rather aggressive towards anything on the sides of the tank, unfortunately. He is being moved to a 360 gallon tank sometime next week- hopefully the extra room should do him some good.

  • Huge tank! Cool fish you have there.
